NOOOOO DON'T LEAVE YOUR BLOOD THERE! If you kill someone and have to park your machine of awesomenes then somebody sees it, the police will steal it (everyone wants such a machine) and then they have your dna - you're vulnerable!
The blood everywhere reminds me of a guy I built a wooden boat together with. I was in another room working with some powertools and shit. When I came back the whole boat was red. He had cut himself in the thumb, continued working and forgotten about the wound.
Just started to watch this and I find it awesome. What I also find awesome is that you mention Sweden which is where I am from and you do it on my birthday. Did you go to Sweden?

Come to Stockholm so i can talk to you! I'm a huge fan of your work =) I like engineering and building things myself, haven't done it in your scale yet though!
man your like my uncle he cut the tip of his thum off once then later cut off the other one right below the nail. they were able to reatache it so he still has both thums.
I can't help but to love things that are built for no reason but awesomeness. That's what keeps me going on with my rube goldbergs. Thanks for reminding me!
The fall sucks here, come in the winter. If I weren't moving to Germany soon it would be awesome to have you camping in my backyard! Keep up the good work. Will be ordering t-shirts any time soon.
is that the chassis? also, how is it that the nobody is funding you on this? I thought that at least one company would want to market it, or a government department would want to use it squish criminals.
I dunno why no one is funding it. Maybe thhey're just waiting to see a finished product. ha ha, ya right. No one cares because its not economically viable to fund giant robots. .....or at least no one has done it yet.
Anyway, if you know any fundy people, feel free to let them know. :-)
If I knew fundy people, my house would be swarmed with robots that do little to nothing. Sadly, only thing people care funding about where I live is football. But with a giant robot, it would be much more effective, as the people who are funding most likely fund others too, and if those others have bad results, they can squish them with robot.
you'll get sued for injuring the other players most likely. That would be funny ( the injuring part). Headlines: "giant robot disables football players, destroys turf, angry town people also stepped on"
Ha ha. I'm just going to sit here and imagine that for a moment..... in cartoon mode, of course. People getting smooshed is always funnier in cartoon mode.
Yeah, if I had a nickel for every time I got those reactions from the neighbors...
Now days I just tell them, "it's a research project for a private investor", and they go away.
Though I think my favorite reaction is from the yard guy. He just walks around and pretends not to notice it... then sneaks in a stare every once in while :-P.
Hahaha.
He's too scared to ask what it is... I think.
Though recently I did get a "DAAAAAANNNNNNGGGGG!" from the TimeWarner cable guy. :-P
I'm not building a giant robot myself (yet) so I can't really talk but I think you should have jig built the sliders and you should also chain up your slave so she doesn't escape :-).
What happened to your mountain retreat and workshop? And do you ever measure stuff or use a tape measure?
oyu should say somthing like "its a multilegged transportation device to navigate tara in a quick fasion" and then when they say "what???" just look at them like there stoopid and say... "its a robot". and then they get all freeaked out
Oh, I was going for full derogatoriness. MOOOAHAAHAAHAA!
I don't mind that question. I think its funny when people spaz out because I don't say like.. a car, or a boat or any of the standard things that people make all the time.
(In a big booming voice)"In the name of everything awsome.......This robot......will kick much arse...." lol It's already drippin' awsome dude. I literally still can't wait.
Ya. People are funny. I don't know how a person could NOT do awesome things for the sake of awesomeness. Who wants to die with zero awesome points...???
Jaimie- Looking great. I'm sure you have thought of this, but a metal sculptor I work with came up a great way to work on projects that are heavy and hard to move around. I made a video of him installing a sculpture with his big A Frame thingy. His name is Phil Proctor. On my boswellgallery youtube page. Talk to you soon.
quick question: Any rough estimate how much this thing will weigh once fully built & assembled? I think you may have answ'd it in a previous video.. I can't recall :-/
I hope the aluminum holds up. I'm about done with a project now the weighs around 700lbs I'm guessing, and I was very suprised to a 3 foot long piece of 1" sqare steel tubing with 1/4" thick walls bowing. I never thought I'd see that happen. No big deal, I braced it up. I'm just saying to be careful on the first test. It would be ashamed to bend up such an awsome machine!
Oh.... thats what keeps me up at night when I think about the robot. I haven't done a lot with aluminium, so I'm guessing on a lot of things. I'm pretty sure I'll have to reinforce some things more. ....and there are a couple things I've already cut steel replacements for. I'll test it out really slow the first time. ....without me on it.
uhh... ya. umm... wellll....???? I uhhh.... errrr... So... like any chance I can weasel out of that question? ha ha. I'm not sure. I'm going to go to NC in a week to do some work and make some money... and other things... I'm not sure! uhh.. before summer.
yeah people dont understand, what robots are for,, well 30 years ago people didnt know what computers are for, and is so cool you have a slave,, I wish I have one too.
"I took apart a golf cart thingy to get these aluminum things. then im gonna put this thing here and then weld another one of these things to that thing" haha!
With the 1 and the 3 that you're laying down there, I don't see a lot of good options of number 2! ha ha. Oh, I guess I could sell a robot with lasers, and someone ELSE can take the hostages.
Be sure to ask other americans who have gone to Sweden so you don't make an awful decision and waste a lot of money only to discover that sweden actually sucks.

"What are you building there?"
I really don't like that question either, because when you say 'robot' it generates a million more questions . . .
'What does it do?'
'How does it work?'
'Why are you making it?'
'Can you make me one?'
And it only gets worse . . .
I think I'll forward them this video next time they ask me . . .
btw, I prefer the term 'minion', cause it gives an evil-ness sound to it, without the derogatory aspects . . .
