Closely listen to an Inception dvd made prior to the January the 8th Tucson shooting, especially around the dialogue, "Do It." Check my quotes for more information.
I just found out Thurston directed this video, and Kim did the Perfume-V live video. It's awesome when two awesome bands are interested in each other.
i just rofl'd. some may say it's boring. Others find it brilliant. Note: Clark (extremely talented electronic artist signed to Warp) puts this as one of the top 3 songs that influenced him. Don't really know where 'pathetic' came from. Unless this is a troll haha. I'm hoping it is.
1. Arousing pity, esp. through vulnerability or sadness.
"success it never comes"
"the jokes they're always bad but they're not as bad as this"
"I guess a guess is the best I'll do"
This song might be good compared to the rest of the excrement in this genre. But regarding its "brilliance," I'll just say this entire song has less going on musically than 15 seconds of a Beethoven symphony.
@mightymellow01 I bet I'm not missing anything. You're probably just projecting your stupidity onto me. Then again, perhaps I am missing something. Since I like to challenge myself musically, please explain what you think I'm missing so I can attempt to enjoy this song.
@MMAharaja Well I also have never got the devotion to pavement but if you look at an artists list of influences they are almost certain to be there along with the likes of pixies etc...... so we are probably missing something
oooh, such a challenger. you are sooooo superior in your musical tastes. Does anyone else but me find this to be ironic, i dare say Malkmus is somewhere snickering at this chump.
it's called modern music, moron. Comparing a Beethoven symphony to simple lo-fi mockery song is just plain dumb. Compare Pavement's "Grave Architecture" to any thing put out in the last 20 years, a song many current Jazz greats call a masterpiece, and has even been picked up as a cover by many of these same greats. Just curious, what are some of the bands you like or have liked recently?
lol. That's mtv2 uk, started out as a proper good indie/rock/alternative music channel, 24/7 tunes, no ads no crappy tv shows, just music. Of course that was a good few years ago, it's been killed like the rest of the mtv network now.
thx 4 posting. one of my fav songs ever, a classic anthem forever one note away from falling apart altogether. i guess.. i'll spend my last quarter notes randomly..

@MMAharaja
to talk about how much is 'going on musically' is to miss the point of the song.
mightymellow01 10 months ago
@mightymellow01 Frankly, there's not much to miss.

@MMAharaja
lol not really qualified to say that if you're missing it.
but whatever, if you don't enjoy it that's fair enough. it's just not cool to call it crap because you don't like it.

@MMAharaja I have to agree with you i've never understood the huge devotion to pavement...

huge? i'd say "loyal", but "huge" isn't right.
Evocati2008 8 months ago
@Evocati2008 Sorry thats what i mean by 'huge devotion' people are very devoted to them. Sorry for the confusion.

@MMAharaja i don't think that necessarily has any bearing on whether or not one might consider it "brilliant".
