A joy to watch, I got my mcpx in Dec 2011, and I've gone through 5 landing gear already, lol, Still cheaper than most 6ch Heli's to fix which is why the mcpx is such a great buy, keep em coming.
Had to come backand watch this again. Thanks. Mine came in friday but cant go out and test fly so have been doing hover practice in the living room. Thanks again. (Tom)
hey im kinda new to rc helicopters and ive had my Ares-Ultra-Micro-MD-500D-CX-100-RTF helicopter for about a mounth and a half and ive gotten pretty good at it and im to the point where i dont want to fly it because im bored with it... is the copter easy for beginners to do inverted flight with or rolls and stuff like that? thanks
@earthling1984- I am just curious to know why didn't you harrass the birds.....I love doing that....and man.....if you got squirels........the party starts 50 feet up.
Good flying man! I plan on picking up one of these soon. I am getting bored with my msr and mcx2. What is a good charger and battery combo for constant flight time with this heli? Thanks.
@02stampede it comes with a good charger and battery, and actually there is a mCP X 2 out now, and it comes with 2 batteries as well as a good charger for the batteries included. just buy extra batteries if you want.
i hate to be the one to break it t you, being a new heli and all, but your chopper keeps malfunctioning and accidentally flipping upside down....... try the mcx. i have one and they never do that.
Why didn't you get someone to help you film this? You're obviously an excellent flyer. A tripod really doesn't cut it. We're missing so much of your skills!
@earthling1984 on my diff throttle curves i have normal 3d and throttle hold when i selt normal then I have the options as L, 2, 3, 4 , h? and i programmed what u said as those things like i said im a total noob heli pilot planes are easy lol
dude ty so much it does both now 3d and regular flight ty 4 all your help and dealing with a noob like me as always you rock! and if you have time can you tell me all your settings for the dx6i and the blade sr for some reason i went from stock remote to dx6i and i cant yaw to the right but other than that shes perfect. thank you again ~LordBong941~
@earthling1984 man that sucks cause I literally just went out and bought one as i write this I just walked in the door from hobby shop lol wish me luck and as always I honor ur advice and luv the vids.~ LordBongSnipa69~ ~941~
@LordBongSnipa69 Well awesome, glad you got this amazing heli! The nice things about it are the small size and light weight, which reduces damage in crashes - often times after a crash you can simply take off again right away. Just take it slow and have fun!
@earthling1984 I flew this lil bird last night before dusk and I must say I flew this better than the sr with all the recommended settings on dx6i and let me say this lil bird is fantastic~!! ~No crashes yet woot
@earthling1984 Thanks to you bro. i have like 30 diff airplanes and helis thanks to your vids and tuts A++ I know I don't comment enough but this one blew me away. ty again
@earthling1984 Ight man my last and final question lol. I used all recommended settings for my dx6i and cannot get it to fly in idle up mode so I can 3d I hit throttle hold switch and engine shuts off can you help me with this? i am new to mixing helis in general but am able to fly this one perfect. thank you in advance ~LordBong941~
@LordBongSnipa69 well the throttle hold switch is meant to do exactly what it did - stop the motor. The switch you shold be using is on the upper left of the transmitter. It is labeled with 'gear / f mode'. Switching to F mode 1 should put you into Idle up if you have done the throttle curve settings.
@earthling1984 could u tell me what throttle curve setting you use? i am new to this and am trying to learn fast lol i dont belong to a club all my money goes to kid and rc :)
@earthling1984 what did you start out with, i just got my msr a few days ago and im just learning how to hover in one spot, and next i want to get a dx6i and maybe a simulator, but as far as heli progression what would you go to after a micro fixed pitch?
@sciullo779 my first collective pitch after the fixed pitch mSR was the E-flite blade SR. It was a great helicopter to step up to because it flies smooth, and it is also inexpensive. The SR may be a great choice for you too. Of course the blade 450 flies better, but it also costs more, and more expense will come with a crash. get some simullator time with collective before flying them to reduce crash/repair costs. I never used a sim to learn to fly, but I do recommend pheonix.
Great vid thanks! It's your business, but flying any heli that close to your eyes without eye protection is not at all safe. Even with the E-Flite blade grip mod installed the blades themselves can crack and break, and blade fragments can fly off. Thanks for the vid, keep up the good work. Fly safe..!
Very Nice!!!!! Love the landing on the end. Thumbs up! Wish I had that kind of Helicopter Flying Skills.....or for that matter that helicopter. LOL But, baby steps first. Great video, Bud. Keep em comin'. Happy Flying!!!!!!
haha nice flying just dont break it i got mine last weekend and the first day my dad broke the swash plate so i havent even flown it yet (im farther along in the learning process than he is so i can fly a little better) but the part was supposed to be in on wendsday then they said it wont be here till the end of may!!! omg i was sad
@Raptor50aus I did have some problems with bogging and the tail not holding when I did some fast loops in a row. I lowered my pitch to 70% travel and that helped, but still I do have to be careful not to bog it down.
I wan't to save up for a 2nd micro plane with ailerons I need to upgrade from my night vapor I'm tired of trying to do tricks with It and I need to upgrade!!!!!! thanks...
@Vik13vik Thanks for viewing! I appreciate the donation request, and sure I would heh, but really it isn't needed, I make these videos for fun and to help other people, not for money :)
It looks really good in the video but as the pilot, how does it fly? Does it handle well? I just built myself a 450 and I'm considering getting one of these to practice 3d on first (less damage on crash). Would you suggest it?
P.S. Have you seen the new rotor head bulletin from HorizonHobby? Apparently they came out with a new/upgraded blade grip design because of the complaints about them coming off and they are offering them for free to everyone who already bought the mCP X.
@gree7r Hey. The mCPX is great. only problem I had is after a minor crash the bearing in the blade grip broke and the grip pulled off the feather shaft. It seems they have fixed this problem now, and other than that, it flies great, super smooth, I am able to hover it inverted in a 1 foot box, with no expo and 100% rates. Really smooth. I do get some tail jitter from time to time, but overall it holds very well. you can see in this video, it even handled the 10mph wind without problem.
Sweet flying as usual Earth! This is my first cp and I've gone from hovering to doing big circled with banked turns. Its sooooo much faster than the 120sr. I have the blade 450 on preorder I can't wait to see what a bigger bird feels like.
@earthling1984 Thank you for not telling me to run out and buy a T-Rex. One of the big reasons I like following your channel is because you dip into a little of everything, and judge stuff for what they are. I am aware that Align makes a hell of a heli, but people like me want to dip into different aspects of RC, auto, airplane, heli, boat. If were more focused on just helis, I'd do a T-Rex, but I don't want that much invested into one vehicle... not right now. Thanks for your sincerity!
@earthling1984 The only thing that i think is a little less good (i don't know the good word) is that has lots of more weight compared to the mCPx. If you crash the SR, there are lots of replacement parts, but when you crash, there is some damage.. And because of the less weight of the mCPx, the chance at damage is far less (i guess)
@MrJasperDaniel I agree to that point. that is why new pilots need to take it slow, and use training gear. Learn to hover in all directions before trying to fly circles or firgure 8's.
@earthling1984 youve come a great way since last year ,i remember you flying honeybees into trees ; )
but after that you suddenly where on a streak ,and did really well ,,now your 1 of the few that can have a good flight on mcpx ,,i bet you can fly any helicopter now : D
What are your travel and expo settings for your mcpx ? I find that if they are at stock setting when I go inverted the tail does not hold but when I do change it, it flies inverted but not as well as yours.
@tallman500 I have 100% travel on everything except the pitch, which I have set to 70%. I found that over 70% pitch I got some motor bogging and not a very solid tail due to that - 70% has worked well. Other than that, I don't use any expo, or dual rates, just 100% travel except pitch.
@flyingchimp99 not yet... well, after a crash, I did have to replace the blade grips... but from what I've seen, it is pretty durable(I've seen other vids of it getting beaten around and still flying)... so far I've only had one very minor crash, I guess I just got unlucky, but parts were inexpensive, available, and easy to replace.
hey, please reply,
Is it possible to bind the transmitter to another plane or helicopter?
