  • @codzboy74 That made me laugh thanks :)

  • It'll fold up real nice when it hits an F-150

  • Sadly the concept of shared cars will never work since most people are too lazy to drop it off at a station then walk home (unless the car can drive itself back to its station).

  • What is this? A car for ants???? The car will have to be at least 2 times bigger!!!

  • @D33cious ur A dumbass he said it was a small prototype u fuck up

  • TheHardcore4u, This is a international cooperation result. Basque initiative (Hiriko means in Basque language "Urban". MIT's people support it, obviously.

  • would the driver still live if an F-150 hits it at 60 MPH?

  • @ChummyChime Would a motorcycle rider survive? Oh wait because it looks tougher that doesn't count right? Road safety regardless what you drive is based on how well you drive and how aware of your surroundings you are.

  • @jlaffoon24

Wrong.... It doesn't matter how careful you are it depends mostly on the other drivers around.

  • hes hot!

  • @ululanikalea cosign

  • ....And of course, it will hit the marker (streets) by 2021, when its design and entire concept will be OBSOLETE!!!!!!

  • I'm all for progressive thinking but won't this put taxi's out of service except for people that can't drive?

  • In a article says that a car has been produced by a Spanish consortium, but here it writes M.I.T so i am bit of a confused

  • how the hell am i suppose to get through snow with this piece of junk!

  • @NPAMike turn it over upside down and it becomes a snowmobile

  • @NPAMike They make this big-ass Navigator-Trucks (One of the preferred by Americans) vehicles, that sits up to either Elephants or...well you know!...Americans... it gives you a whopping 3 miles to the gallon on the highway, & rides on the snow like a charm.....well some times you see it upside down on the ditch once in a while (sort of like every 2 miles you see one crashed) cuz here in Wisconsin people think that cuz the damn thing's so huge, it will allow you to drive 80-MPH on a blizzard :)

  • What im wondering is what if you're on the highway and those 4 wheels decided to do their own 'thing' ???

  • Im not getting laid now. like im gonna buy one of these?

  • But, Will It Blend?

  • The door is in the front. And btw, the kid from mit is pretty cute lol hahahaha

  • yup, there are no doors from the looks of this video and other articles... which.. ehh i dont know.. is new i guess.

  • How do you get in and out of the car? Do you have to fold it up and slide out of the top?

  • what happens when someone is still in the car when it is compacting???

  • @ilikecheetos12 theres more videos that actually show you the concept of it folding up and parking, from what i saw your still inside till it completely folds up than it releases the top and lets you out:)

  • @ilikecheetos12 Beef jerky

  • @ilikecheetos12 They die a horrible, horrible death.

  • @ilikecheetos12 Nothing, the interior doesn't become smaller it only sit up and you can park like that as well.

  • @ilikecheetos12 One word: squish

  • @ilikecheetos12 nothing it compacts so u can park it so im guessing u can drive it compacted but at very low speeds.

  • there is a video of a concept of this from MIT in 2006.

so no, this is not a copy faggots

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  • Yes Japan made this years ago :). It is not a new thing :)

  • @ozanorhann whats it called

  • @GotYourWingsYet its the Hiriko

  • Very cool!

  • amazing & exciting. Looking forward to ordering & buying it , at any price !!!

  • These MIT guys are Geniuses..Not

  • People have already been driving this in Japan... With two people in one car...

  • hmm we can i sit?

  • Yep I remember this Concept from Japan.

  • Yayh now i can park my car in a bicycle stand ^^

  • vehicle sharing is the FUTURE.

  • Japan had a concept of this vehicle 4-5 years ago as i recall. so what is this an american ripoff

  • @C6R1S well maybe we dont want to buy stuff from japan anymore. :l

  • @C6R1S MIT's Media Lab has been shaping the car's design for over 6 years. So actually I would call this a viable design.

  • @C6R1S Look up history when Americans arrived with big canons on their ships to Japan Japanese had no idea what it was. Then they end up sending people from japan to Europe to study coz they were like 100 years behind and disconnected.

So they ripped or learned all the knowledge long ago from everyone else :)

  • @C6R1S Nope. It's the American follow-through. The Japs never even finished it...

  • If it has 'shared' use, i.e. pick up - drop off, who will check it isn't damaged? That it's still safe for use? Who's going to clean it if it's left in a mess? How will the batteries be recharged? Who will maintain it? What's the legality of picking up a vehicle that may not be roadworthy? Can it legally be driven in the folded position? Better still, where can I buy my own?

  • @brownsrd16 Think of it as a rental car, where the consumer is responsible during the time he or she is using it and the dealer/rep is responsible for the maintenance once returned. Although unlike a rental service I assume these vehicles would be provided by the local public sectors.

One downside I see is that they could get boxed in while folded and can't pull out, lol!

  • EVERYONE IS WEARING SKINNY JEANS

  • @AfroMofo And? Thought this video was about the car not what people are wearing.

  • The concept of a folding car/truck can extend to many different models. It's basically foling in 1/2 and compacting for parking or storage.
