@trekrider100 hey you and i have something in common:I was a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton and like you, i had this song blasting in my 1974 mustang. that was in 89.
todays music and so called artist..j-ho,rihanna,bruno spoiled put 2gether mars, from repetitive rap songs that all sound the same to cheesy so called pop songs which consists mostly on beats rather than vocals that make sense and wannabe rock bands that u never fckn heard of can all eat shit!!!! 80's music and the most of the real artist of that time is and always will be the best!!! you remember that next time u hear the 2000 and up fake "singers" of today.
It's a shame that Winger were dismissed as a pretty boy band. They've got more talent than today's rock bands. Kip's an amazing vocalist & Reb Beach was an underrated lead guitarist.
@Lookin2Cool Yeah, I guessed they were just mixed in with the whole bunch of 80's metal fever bands back then, however those great few bands still sound great
Ah, if I only could go back all those years ago when this album first came out. I remember seeing them in a very small club called Obsessions in Randolph NJ. They were so good. MUSIC was good then. I'm getting older.
the guitar solo's by reb in songs like madelaine is seventeen are toned down so much in their debut album, in the demos they're like a whole minute long and insaaaane
I must have cranked this song a million times driving around Virginia Beach back when I was in the Navy.

What a great song. Shows how much better would it have been if it had not been "beau hill"ed to death.

This disc was the soundtrack to the very messy breakup I was going through
at the time. The power of music... kind of gives me the creeps.

If this album had been released just a year earlier it would have gotten massive
airplay and justice would have prevailed... regardless of how uncomfortable
some people were with the possibility that Kip Winger was getting laid far more frequently than they. Thanks for posting this demo.

How come they recorded the album version in a LOWER key?? Kip totally nails the vocals here, I love @0:33 - the higher, the better!!

Cool Post, but......sounds weird. just too used to the original, and Kip sang this quite different. although, he hit some nice notes in this version.
prefer the "original" cool tune though huh?
thanks.

My favorite Winger song. The intro sounds almost exactly like the riff from Van Halen's "Change" if you listen.

For some reason the vocals are different in this than the version I have. A great song though.
