Actually, the texture and the curl is not the same as a black person., i.e, someone who doesn't have a white/indian,asian, or amerindian parent. It's like comparing a curly hair white woman's hair with a loosely curled biracial girl's hair. In fact, most mixed ppl inherit hair that can grow to a decent length without doing much to their hair.
I agree with some people, I had to give a thumbs down for the title. We need to educate ourselves and stop being so ignorant on certain things...not directed at anyone in particular just something that irks me within my community.
This may be a silly question but I am a guy and don't know much in this field: I have typical, good, dougla hair. Would it be the same for a male with my kind of hair?
afro hair is coily tight curls, mixed hair is curly loose curls and these two textures can pretty much use the same hair products. Both textures are not hard to manage, I can style both its easy gotta know how to work it...:)
@denisprowl That's a misconception. Not all or even necessarily most mixed people have loosely curled hair. I'm mixed, and my hair is kind of curly, but more on the afro side and I've met plenty of black people with "mixed hair." I'm not trying to correct you or anything, I just like to share that with people because there are a lot of misconceptions about mixed people and their hair.
who was the artist singing in the background. I was really diggin' it. And the video was great too, something about two sistas happily doing each others hair just makes me feel warm inside lol!
1st of all msbrice, you have GREAT taste in music lol. It was like listening to my collection :)... The styles you did on your friends' hair are great! I luv the 4 cornrow style. Nice and summery looking! I just wish there was more sunshine in london to really enjoy that hairstyle :(.. great videos as always!
it depends on what you were using on their hair before you co-washed. if there is a lot of build-up co-washing alone may not be enough. you can try a non-sulfate shampoo like cream of nature, or giovanni. they're safe. then you can condition after.
dang, lol! I kno u werent tryna be rude but mixed ppl don't all have the same texture of hair, just like black ppl dont all have the same hair texture or white ppl or asians, etc....the girl's hair is textured kinda like mine and I'm not mixed but many ppl think I am b/c of my hair.
Exactly, My brother and I are both mixed (mom is white) and we have totally different textures of hair. We have both of the same parents. My hair is wavy/curly, and his hair is very kinky. I couldn't get a real afro if I tried.

I'm not mixed like that but my hair is textured like hers

yea you don't need to be mixed to have that type of texture, a lot of black women I see go natural have a curl pattern similar to that

@GenuinelyGiGi Some blacks girls, according to what one told me, texturize their hair and lie to others that they haven't gotten one.
