@unrealharry You are full of crap man it is really sad that people still feel this way 'Just grow up and stop the hate and laugh and have fun God is good all the time
"Make no mistake about it, deputy. I'll cut your fuckin' head clear off and not give a shit how it reads in the report sheet." Great line from a great actor in a great movie.
Classic scene. I love how the agents block the door and won't let the FBI boss William DeFoe in the door. He kept fighting Hackman's character on his tactics throughout the movie. But it was time for the agents to play dirty and crack some skulls.
Gene Hackman struck a blow for the black man when he whooped that rascist cops behind. One of my all time fav actors. So wish Gene hadnt retired. Love him. He was the best Lex Luthor ever.
I blasted my ass off the first time I saw this scene. Thinking to myself, it's about time that fucker was getting his. Gene Hackman was kind of funny too, though. Everytime he asked a question to the deputy, he always said "Did ya, huh?" LMAO! That fucker got his though! OWNED!
A favorite scene of mine. Unfortunately, I don't recall an agency from the US doing stuff like that for us recently. Since when have we seen a couple of agents investigate what happened to a couple of kids getting murdered like this?
This is an outstanding scene and methods like this need to be used on all criminals from white collar on down. But alas, I am not being PC am I? Doubtless, the Nazi liberals will now cry and turn all their resources to the “rights” of criminals while their victims (if they were not murdered) will continue to suffer physically, emotionally and financially maimed and brutalized for the rest of their lives.
@ErieBoy62 I love the movie and understand your [our] enjoyment of it, but from a law standpoint, it's a bit nuts. Hackman's character has no proof that Pell was in on the murders; all he knows is Pell is rude and uncooperative and condescending. Law enforcement shouldn't be able to beat the shit out of someone just because they don't like them or assume they are guilty. While it's fun to watch, it could easily go the wrong way.
@ignoranceandwant I see your point and agree with you, I was simply penning my frustration at all the bullshit that is occurring today in our society. This kind of "justice" is great in the context of a movie but we cannot have it in reality. By the way, please accept my compliments on the excellence of your writing skill. Far too many comments I see on the internet are penned with a total lack of spelling and grammar. No one seems to care and it is a truly sad state of affairs indeed.
@Perseiden2 Do you know whats funny about people like you? You are so proud to be white and most of us true white Anglo Saxons are ashamed to be linked to the mongrel whites in that shitty inbred corner of a truck stop excuse for a country were your mom hated you and your dad probably had serious thoughts of fucking is own son! I am proud to be white i am just ashamed of you. Good day to you sir
@GIVEmeSOMEsugarBA8Y I hate slave owners and hatred driven racists but I hate people who say fuck the south and it's "inbred savage peckerwoods" even more, all those people can just go to africa and live there if they want
1 "All those people can just go to africa and live there if they want"
Who are you talking about?
2 what do you mean you hate people who say "fuck the south" more than you hate slave owners and racists?
WTF you really need to get your priority's strait mate, attitudes like that is the very reason everyone thinks people in the south are a little backward.
Deputy sheriff Cecil Ray Price was a coward and a murderer...He brought shame and dishonor to the badge, Neshoba County and the people of Philadelphia, Mississippi...What's sad is none of the Mississippi Attorney General's from 1964 all the way to 2001 would not bring murder charges against Price...It wasn't until 2001 when MS Attorney General Mike Moore finally decided to bring charges..Then all of a sudden, Cecil Price dies following a fall from a piece of equipment at his job on May 6, 2001.
@EyesOfTheSouthSTi Glory is my favorit movie ; best I ever saw. Malcom X was great too. Denzel Washington should have 6 or 7 Oscars, (as quiet as it's kept).
yeah, I think this was a good way to end the movie with hackman getting back at the racist police officer and to get justice for the police officers wife and the the three civil rights workers who were murdered

@92af I must disagree. During Richard Burton's acting career, films did not contain the perspicuous language and violence contained in contemporary movies. I could never see Richard Burton cast in any of the roles Gene Hackman has ever played and vice versa. @SmashDiversity3 Are you suggesting the white man's treatment of black people over the past few hundred years doesn't matter and that society should treat black gang action and panther action separately? If so, I have to say that you are very foolish.
KKK used to have 1million member is the USA in the 1920's....now they have less than 5,000.....what a bunch of losers...I bet they can only afford cake and punch at there annual conclave!!!
The slimey little jerk didn't even try to defend himself, but he can brutally beat up a small woman. What a little wanker-got what he deserved! My favorite scene in the whole movie!

My favorite line: When Dafoe tells him "that's the difference between them and us." Then Hackman says, "NO! That's the difference between them and YOU!" He knew what he came from.
haha I just saw the French Connection. My favorite line, "I'm gonna bust your ass for those three bags and then I'm gonna nail you for pickin' your feet in Poughkeepsie."

What is THE most devastating & costly event EVER in American history?
SLAVERY...
WHY, because slave trader's forced black's here to America and even their own tribal leaders sold them off to the slave trader's for profit.
America will NEVER, EVER live down slavery. It costs American taxpayers billions & billions of dollars every year and it will NEVER, EVER end!
Just imagine America WITHOUT black's, wouldn't it be just wonderful!

My favorite line: When Dafoe tells him "that's the difference between them and us." Then Hackman says, "NO! That's the difference between them and YOU!" He knew what he came from.

I haven't seen this movie in years, so I recall any specific lines, but the scene with the black guy in the KKK mask had some good dialogue.
Also, that's a good point, that Willem Dafoe takes over the role of the by-the-book sidekick that Roy Scheider originally had.

haha I just saw the French Connection. My favorite line, "I'm gonna bust your ass for those three bags and then I'm gonna nail you for pickin' your feet in Poughkeepsie."
