  • Chromium OS is a very ahead of time concept, for sure some day they will be dominant, but not now.

  • Google should get it's head out of it's ass, really? Together with Samsung Corp, and Acer Inc? hahaha hahahaha. Get real.

  • Just buy a cheap laptop and download Google chrome.

  • @pen6816 And you now have a Google Chromebook with Windows 7!

  • lol fast-forward 20 years: John Connor vs. Google Skynet lol

  • @SyupahSkeng Google Majel would work better. Majel is the name of the ISA that Google is currently working on for Android.

  • i want one... the internet must be faster cause it doesnt have all those other programs that other computers have and make them slow.

  • its the best for gamers!

  • It would be better, if it was made touchscreen

  • @rockstar4mahe Definitely. Sadly, there are Asus Android tablets with a keyboard dock to replicate such a thing.

  • This is actually brilliant. Having everything work solely on a browser.

This simplifies everything. No need to store and backup memory and then have to defragment it and maintain the mostly useless information that we keep on our PC's

This is a beautiful concept. just a little ahead of our time.

Imagine, Running a High quality PC game threw your browser, and all you needed is a connection, a browser and for the servers to be up.

Well done Google. Your half way to owning the world. =)

  • @fiandaca123 It could have been a great OS if Google put enough effort into the development of the Chromebooks instead of releasing them so early. Google Chrome, as it is now, is severely lacking in support from third-party applications, which also ruins the experience of having a Chromebook if there is very little to do except for browsing the web.

  • @DestinyKnightX I never said it was a good Product. But i love the concept.

  • @fiandaca123 OnLive is the future as well as this. Many people also already use internet storage for files. It just needs a plug for external monitors, if you wanna watch movies at home etc.

  • later lol

  • if there is free internet everywhere i go i´ll get one of those chromebooks

  • @lens4lifeofcourse sorry, you cant

  • It's perfect regarding speed, simplicity, security, and connectivity. But it needs better support from third party applications to give it that same offline capacity and ability that all ordinary computers have. The only way that this is going to happen is if people buy it, so the "wait and see" philosophy doesn't work on large scale. I can't see anything that says it's not selling good, it's out of stock everywhere in the US, and you can't expect it to be in everyone's home within months.

  • This is like paying $500 for a web browser.

  • @JustinAguon Actually: 300$, they've cut the prices, as you can see.

  • @JustinAguon Implying you have a computer to install a browser on.

  • @JustinAguon For Most people Facebook is enough

  • @JustinAguon a FREE web-browser which you bought for MONEY :) pfffhahahaha

  • OnLive was born for this laptop

  • @TheVideoGamePad And what if you dont have a HIGH-SPEED internet connection on let's say THE BUS ? Onlive requieres high speed

  • no point in a separate chromebook

google should just repackage chrome OS as a app on the android market and the ios app store

  • @vgking699 they shouldn't have named it chromebook but something like android pc. :P

  • @Allardio It's because it's built on Chrome, not on Android.

  • @Skrufnyckeln but chrome owns android

  • @0208robert Yes, of course, Google makes them both.

  • @0208robert I knooow, but this isn't an Android device. It's Chrome, get it?

  • @0208robert Chrome is a different OS developed by Google.

  • If I run Google Chrome fullscreen on my Windows laptop, I basically have the same experience.. The battery of the Chromebook is great though.

  • BUT WHAT IS CLOUD GAMING? xD

  • Way to expensive!

  • Very nice Google, keep them coming.

  • great idea google but a cloud computer... too soon ¦:'-(

  • i prefer android tablet and local storage of software because there are less wifi connection than should be...

it is a great concept but needs a network as mobile phones.

  • fail, everyone will use ultrabook instead of this.
