  • Décor sublime !

Merci pour cette petite partie de ce grand ballet !

    Grandiose et beau !

Thank you very much for posting

  • what song is used in the marshmallow dance?

  • @MollandMillshow i am pretty sure that is the Chinese tea music

  • Contemporary dance I feel has a stigma - its always assumed that a contemporary piece of dance should 'look' aesthetically a certain way, for example a new look of ballet. But in fact, 'contemporary' means new, check out Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, Mark Morris, Pina Bausch... x

  • dont forget paul taylor!

    classics!

  • mollyandhollie,

i am a recently converted dance student

i thank yoo for your comment

it has cleared the airwyas i feel lol

    see yoo tomorrow lol

    xXx

  • contemporary dance was created to rebel against ballet. its spose to show like proper emotion and stuff its really good :)

    thought id try and help

  • the innovators for contemporary dance, that is merce cunningham, even martha graham, alvin ailey and a lot of others had never studies classical ballet, so they couldnt be rebelling against it!!!! it was just a new way of being creative!! i study both, full time, and i dont believe one rebels the other, they are just different. classical ballet is emotive too! i feel more emotion doing classical ballet, though i see myself being a contemporary dancer, so its too hard to put a label on the two!

  • Oh you!!!! But yeah banana your right. This is sooooo cool though!

  • its definatly ballet...what contemporary anyway, as a dance student we're always arguing this

  • by the way his isnt ballet its contemporary.

  • it is A ballet in that it is a narrative story in several acts, performed to music, no speaking, all thorugh dance, however it is not classical ballet, it is modern dance.

matthew bourne describes it as dance theatre.

  • its like mixing ballet with musical theatre

  • i love the nutcracker especially this version by Matthew Bourne. Its a magical ballet that takes a lot of care and character to dance.

  • i have seen this many times . The show is magical . it is currently at the sadlers wells in london

  • Does the show suck or what...Certainly wouldn't have my kids see it..What is it with licking each others hands and arms? And the pole dancing? And mooning the audience?

  • they are licking each others hands because in sweetie land you are not judged on how you look but how you taste and you obviously have no cultural or your are profoundly narrow-minded if you cannot see the beauty and elegance of the nutcracker ballet. So at least dislike the ballet with respect, if you don't I would like to see you write a suite for a ballet and dance it with the beauty and professional level that travolsky and the dancers and Matthew Bourne do.

  • its not actually ballet its more contemporay

  • this has bourne written all over it!

  • i went to see this ballet on my birthday and it was amazing! and i love the outfits! especially the marshmellows :)

  • ok...i just wanna say i luv that blue polka dot dress at the time...00:51 &00:59 the 59 time is to see the back!

  • wtf? gay

  • I did this play in 4th grade and I got the lead role. It was FUN!

  • :] really now... are you saying you did THIS one? Becuase I highly doubt the schoolboard would let that slide, lol.

  • Dear God no, not this specific play! But I did do a version of the Nutcracker, it just wasn't this particular- on second thought, I think I've made my point.

  • My mum worked on this show, it was so fun, she made the Queen candy, marshmellows and the skaters! Mathhew bourne is awsum!

  • i love your pink!!!!

  • thats awesome

  • Never have i seens som much pink where it was not appropriate, if you actually READ the story the nutcracker goes with its not a paticularly happy one, its only gets its good(in a happy fuzzy way,it is of high quality regardless) rap because the story is so unbelievable(fairies, rat kings...) it regarded as fairy tale

  • well it's matthew bourne... he's not one to stick to conventions.

  • Funny coz I've read about 3 different versions of it and it seems pretty happy to me...

  • im doing this play in choir

  • ...what? it's not a play... and you can't sing a ballet... or a play...
