  • American Band director: "That was freaking amazing guys, well done"

Asian Band director: "FUCKING HORRIBLE, YOU CALL THIS MUSIC? DIS DISGRACE SHAME ON YOUR FAMRY"

  • damn asains, always gotta be better at ecery fucking thing in the world.

  • Amazing Color guard!

  • libertango best song ever

  • And I thought The Cadets were good.

  • Amazing show. Crappy camera man. I thouught I was on a roller coaster. lol.

  • Nice trumpets.. 7:17

  • trololol the walk straighter then i can draw a line

  • Any person comparing this band to DCI is an ignorant idiot and lost all credibility. DCI is basically a pro organization and they use entirely different instrumentation. This band could go head to toe with many in the States and their drill technique borrows heavily from drum corp. Some people only feel better if they demean others and every joe schmoe band student thinks his band is the best out there. Come back to reality!

  • you guys are faggots.

  • their marching in an effing gym and covering very little ground and id be happy to put my AMERICAN band against them any day dci would be a slap in the face to them

  • sloppy releases... sloppy drill... go watch DCI

  • @LiamusShakirus you CANNOT compare DCI to high school marching band. They are totally different. And I have to disagree with you. I heard no sloppy releases and the drill was near perfection.

  • @LiamusShakirus Do I sense some jealousy?

  • if you look even closer ... there not perfect

  • Everyone's clapping so politely too.

  • Marching Band Show Ever

  • Reason #4592 Japanese students make American students look like Neanderthals.

  • what's with all the politely subdued clapping? If I were in the stands, I would be like "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • @kesayo My thoughts exactly!

  • @kesayo lol They are probably clapping quiet because this is probably an ok band in Japan because they are good at EVERYTHING!! so we think its amazing and they r like ehh I have seen better haha lol

  • Asians...

  • of course they're the best they're asian

  • The band AND guard were amazing!

  • They don't cheer, just lightly clap at the end. I fucking shit my pants, so good

  • Wow. If Drum Core International really WAS international, the Blue Devils wouldn't stand a chance. At all.

  • @TASSaxezes it actually is international, just the amount of money it would take for a band outside of the states to do this would cost too much.

  • @TASSaxezes Actually DCI corps are still superior. See this band? Their knees bend forward too much when marching forward. DCI bands can also play perfect quality music while jazz running. That has yet to be seen in Japanese bands and corps. And a Japanese corps has competed in DCI before, I think it was Yoshazima Inspires, not great with spelling. But they didn't get to world class. Plus DCI drill is much more demanding and difficult given the tons of extra room for marching.

  • @00loneX The Yokohama Inspires competed twice in DCA, in '02 and ;04. DCA is All Age corps so the inspires would not compete in DCI. Considering they had less than three months to learn their DCA show, and while simultaneously learning their Japan show, their accomplishments at DCA are nothing to scoff at. God Damnit when are you little kids that have never marched corps going to learn the difference between the different levels of corps/bands. Different rehearsal times, etc....

  • @TASSaxezes And don't get me started on how little general effect is emphasized there. Yes this show technically was near flawless. I did hear about 2 trumpet cracks. But was the show design creative and was the show entertaining? Not really. I've heard this style of music done many a time by japanese bands. I was impressed but not very entertained. And General Effect is what DCI does best.

  • @TASSaxezes Blue devils are still far superior to this. FAR superior. This might be the best high school out there... but they're just a high school. They don't practice 12 hours per day. And they can't pick and choose their members.

  • @foroldervids1 Which is great for a High School.

  • @foroldervids1 Yeah, those PVC cube houses were just about the best marching I've ever seen.. Just like that time when they used those mirror reflections, or that other time when they were sitting in chairs. Damn. Cutting-edge drill right there.

  • @foroldervids1 Yes. The Blue Devils are superior to this. The very best audition for BD, and only the truly exceptional are chosen. Those 150 people have many years of marching experience before going to BD. Nishihara is a high school with a limited body of potential members, and are, therefore, not as selective. All things considered Nishihara's accomplishments are amazing, and should in no way be discounted, especially by someone that will never even audition for BD, let alone make it.

  • @Inspadave oh don't get me wrong, I'm not discrediting this band AT ALL. this is absolutely incredible, from a highschool standpoint. in fact, i said in my comment that they were probably the best high school out there. I was only correcting someone else that implied that BD wasn't as good as this high school... which is false. VERY false. in fact to say that this band is better than any DCI corps would kind of feel like a slap in the face, i would imagine. (have friends in dci, never done it)

  • @TASSaxezes

I can't tell if you're serious or not.

So has anybody else noticed how little area they're actually covering?

  • Even their sound is amazing...

  • Dang that was amazing!!... WAIT WHAT?!.... MY GOD!

    THIS IS A HIGH SCHOOL!!!!

  • @MrDanielSkates oh HELLO

  • leave it to asians to upstage the world...

  • oh my god.......my marching band suck compared to these guys

  • これ バンド は とても すごい です!!

  • these kids would so show the blue devils whats up

  • Love it... Whats the show called?

  • @MyusicPro Okay, but the competition _isn't_ outside, so they work to get the best sound for their performance venue. If they regularly competed outside, I'll bet you they'd practice getting the appropriate sound for it. Your comment is as redundant as saying, "American marching bands going inside would sound a lot louder because they are unable to use the building's acoustics to their advantage."

  • Holy Shit... These people are phenomanal. im pretty sure i spelled that wrong

  • We're all doomed...

  • THEY DOT EVN HE YARD LINES!

  • ............asians.

  • ok great practice run guys, now set up for performance

  • These kids put most drum corps to shame.

  • Damn. They're pretty good.

  • Omg that is so awesome. It makes me proud to be half Asian :D

  • i cried. so much effort into creating something just so beautiful.

  • oh my god... this makes my band look like were a bunch of middle schoolers trying to do a show (even though most of our seniors act like they are). i have to say the one thing i dont care for is that the guard only does flag and there isnt much of a theme but around here our shows look like poorly executed drum corps shows

  • Ninjas? The tradition continues...

  • That audience sucks. THEY DESERVED A STANDING OVATION.

  • @BraindeadLee That's not really a part of Japanese culture. Modesty is received with more modesty.

  • @Dzongka You're right.

  • Dammm :0

  • When I was in school, my marching band got all 1's (nerd talk for 'best') and we were never this good. Good job!!!!

  • omg i love this show i really wish i knew what songs theyre performing im so gonna make it my new warm up song ><

  • jaw dropped.... and lovin the euphonium solo at the beginning

  • i am having goosebumps all over me right now.

  • This marching band makes our marching band look like shit lol

  • If it were easy to be good everyone would be great and they're not

  • Those lines are amazing! Someone that knows nothing about marching would think this was really good because of those lines.

  • Exciting show, but not the best. They sound like a drum corps, which may be a big plus in many people's books. For me, that just means they demonstrate many of the same tonal problems that drum corps demonstrate. On top of that, these issues would be exaggerated without question if this performance were outside (although apparently not enough to prevent it from winning some obscure world championship). It's a clean show, but if you want to hear great, warm, symphonic tones, look up Marcus 2007.

  • @ShoeBoot88 Marching band should not sound like a symphonic band- that's why they are two separate bands...

  • @ShoeBoot88 "many of the same tonal problems that drum corps demonstrate."? Have you heard many drum corps lately(especially live)? The top corps rival the purest and warmest sounds when they want to. I agree with nwmusic's reply. There are two bands for a reason, though they each can emulate elements of the other for effect. Marcus has a great sound, no doubt. Nishihara had a harsher tone at times, but combining all categories (M&M, Aux, unit integration, and G.E.) puts 'them way up high, IMO.

  • Holy crap that's Drum Corps level stuff!

  • OMG that was AMAZING! My marching band would fail epically if we tried this lol

  • Comment removed

  • Libertango :) love it so much

  • Holy SHIT. They were in complete straight lines, perfectly spaced , the music was amazing, the guard was perfectly in time, and all without yard lines. JESUS CHRIST. The marching band im in has NO hope of district champs let alone fucking nationals.

  • @HyperOtaku13 There are no lines with the exception of the two center lines. HOWEVER!!!!! There are vertical and horizontal marks every eight meters. Navigation on the floor is not as difficult as you imagine.

  • and all without yard lines

  • Holy crap.

  • but crank that soulja boy has 107,923,727 views this has 400,202 views what is this world coming to is this world really this dumb? shit... this video right here is the shit they sounded amazing and all that cordination and shit each and every person had to focus and get all this shit right and crank dat soulja boy jus bein a dumb nigga on crack... bam almost 108 million views thats fucking crazy... People use your brain...-.-

  • @5lupe5fiasco5 people are just dumbasses and dont understand how hard it is to do this, i thought it would be easy as shit but it's SO HARD to get everyone to follow their drill right

  • I hated the show, but not the sound quality or marching

  • nice forms too....wish american freshman could be as smart as the ones in this band.

  • OMIGOSH THEY ARE PLAYING LIBERTANGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

THATS THE BEST SONG EVER!!!!! GO JAPAN!!!!

  • When our High School had a kick ass 3A band, We did a prince of Persia and We Were Soldiers video that woulda KICKED this shows ASS!!!

  • Get B for breathing in wrong spot? Better DO better next time.

  • Eat your heart out, Broken Arrow

  • dang the asian culture, ONE STEP AHEAD!!!

  • @maseopleasant121 There is no such thing as Asian culture.

  • This gave me goosebumps

  • Omg PERFECT formation!!!!!!!!

  • So Unique ...." Simply Amazing!....I Love it

  • I love how they sweep on the beat. We hit our heels on the beat but the sweeping has a really cool, almost metronomic, affect.

  • So some of you should watch Spring High School in 1993. Not only was the drill a LOT harder, but it was executed incredibly well. This may be more precise, but Spring High School most definitely did a better job considering their drill. It was harder than most drum corps' drill at the time. I will be surprised if anybody can still tell me that they don't think that show is harder.

  • -continured- (this was 4 or 5 yrs ago). Why on earth they didn't cut the guard down to maybe 10-12 vs 25-30 and hone their EXECUTION is beyond me. I'll bet the members of that ALL AROUND GREAT band/show were mad as h*ll the c.g. was causing them to lose. At one point they had these (beautiful) HUGE flags - which made it even more obvious how off they were. Beauty over POOR execution? Not! The mom was in denial but even Stevie Wonder could've seen they would lose because of the hot mess c.g.

  • Spectacular! Definitely an all-around A+ band. Sound, marching and overall presentation was ALL spot on!! That color guard was probably the BEST I've ever seen in all the contests I've been too. Superb choreo and synchronization/execution was great!! I was dumbstruck why one A+ band (west coast) had a HUGE color guard (complete with all sorts of props) that was totally UNsynchronized and a hot mess! I was sitting next to a parent who was all upset they came in 3rd or 4th.

  • crazy ass japs! they are great at everything!! ugghh hate them! lol not literally in a good way lol i can't get over the fact that its in door! never seen that! not saying they aren't awesome, but i mean u can't deny that if they were outdoor with the elements of outdoor it probably would have been a bit different but still they are awesome even without yard lines wow! can't get over!

  • The japanese can do everything better than us fat americans -____-

  • These guys are really good but I have to say ive seen better at the state level (1+2A) marching competition maybe even region but not saying theyre bad but these guys would be competition at the state level

  • To put it into perspective (in comparison to American marching bands), this band in the BOA circuit would be considered a class A sized band. That being said, watch and listen to class A bands at BOA Grand Nationals (past and present). In regards to musical maturity and execution, there isn't a small band in US that compares to this group. In my honest opinion, I don't think that the best playing large class bands in BOA compare to the musical maturity or precision that this group possesses.

  • 7:17 'nuff said

  • and they don't even have yard lines and hash marks to go off of like my marching band does :( Geez these guys are good!

  • @RaGexToPsPiN101 no..Japanese do...=p

  • i just died. how is everything so perfect?!

  • Jebus christ. The music and drill is ridiculous. o__o

  • WOW! theyre amazing! and the color guard did a beautiful job as well! =D

  • 7:16 Gives me chills every time! I must find those three and destroy them in the trumpet battle to end all battles! >:D

  • Marching band so far is hell-a hard! I felt stupid trying to learn it!!! THIS IS NOT A FRICKIN' MILITARY BASE! ITS A HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND! THE FUCK! (I'm really sorry about this but I'm really tired and pissed! i dont want to do this anymore!)

  • Cool

  • Cann you please post the name of all the songs they play?

  • I am shocked at how little the people clap!!! This is a jaw dropping show!! I would have been yelling my head off in amazement!

  • this is absurd......the horn line alone would make them win....triple and double toungin for highschoolers is not an easy task

when the 3 trumpets step out and do the chord then go UUUUPPP is nuts for a highschooler to get as well

  • this is absurd......the horn line alone would make them win....triple and double toungin for highschoolers is not an easy task

  • wow the cg is incredible!

  • The level at which these kids perform their show (which itself is incredibly difficult) is just astounding. An amazing performance.

  • wat's the name for the 1st ssong?

  • @kentflutist91

It's an arrangement of Libertango by Astor Piazzolla. At least the beginning is with the woodwind ostinato going on until the first major impact.

  • @kentflutist91

It's called Libertango by Astor Pizzolla, at least it is up until the end of the first impact moment.

  • 10s 4 d info..

  • wat's the name for the 1st ssong?

  • Not to say that this isnt good but my marching band is way better, Plant high school marchingband

  • @Mrcatdaddy587 Hmmm... I watched a couple of videos for "Plant High School Marching band" From what I saw I would have to disagree. For several reasons. Nishihara's music is much more difficult, and they move 3x as fast. They even RUN instep.

  • @Mrcatdaddy587 It's funny because they're not.

  • @em4rulz im not going to sit here and argue with on youtube

  • This was pretty good, but I don't see why it would be called the best high school marching show ever. I've seen much better from bands like Avon, L.D. Bell, Marcus, Broken Arrow, etc. Look at these shows: L.D. Bell 2010 L.D. Bell 2009 Marcus 2010 Marcus 2009 Avon 2010 Avon 2009 Carmel 2010 Carmel 2005 Broken Arrow 2006 Broken Arrow 2010 This show was clean but very boring. I guess the good marching had a strong effect, but nothing else good happened. And the uniforms were absolute shit.
  • @lolcunts I love those bands, but you can't make a comparison between them and this. These guys are amazing not because they have theatrics and props with their show like most of the BOA bands do, but because they make a huge impact solely with drum corps level marching and music. THAT is what marching band is truly about.

  • @XxNeonFirexX

Marching band isn't about making an impact with drum corp marching and music.

Avon didn't use theatrics or props, L.D. Bell's were very effective, Marcus' were not the main thing about their show, Carmel didn't use any, and Broken Arrow's made their show cooler (Sousaphones on bikes).

Watch L.D. Bell's 2010 show. It's incredibly emotional, I was watery eyed when they were finished. That effect is much more powerful than this band's effect.

  • @lolcunts I've seen all of them, LD Bell is one of my favorite bands. I've been watching them since '05 and they are the model of what I want my program to be like when I'm a band director. What I'm saying is that this show is amazing for very different reasons than bands like LD Bell, so you really can't compare the two. But to say that marching band isn't about marching and music? Are you kidding me? That's not even an argument.

  • @XxNeonFirexX

I wasn't saying the point of marching band isn't about marching and music. I was saying that it's not supposed to be just like DCI, the point is not to reach that level.

You're comparing this band to DCI but this band can't even be compared to other high school bands? Then do you agree with the title of this video?

  • @lolcunts

You're wrong and I love the uniforms. Stop insulting other countries fucking dumbass.

  • @Samhiuys

    My opinions are wrong? Damn.

The uniforms were plain. I'm not insulting Japan, I'm insulting this marching band.

  • Their lines are so straight!!!!!!!!! How????!!!! And their perfect arches and diagonals....

  • These guys are great, but American HS marching bands are doing this well too. Check out Bands of America. It's a high level marching band circuit here in the US. It features small not so great bands to larger bands that rival DCI Corps.

And fyi, it's easy to be good and clean with 80 members in a small area. Add 100 more kids and a football field and thats what many American bands compete with.

  • @Gltokensp06 The difference is that this is the level of most marching bands and overall band programs in Japan. Look up japanese elementary school marching bands AND concert bands and you will be blown away. The bands that come to BOA represent probably 3-5% of American marching bands and are relatively all very good programs with decent funding. The other 95% who don't compete there are either decent or horrendous, with little to no funding. It's a completely different culture.

  • @Gltokensp06 They may have a small area, but their competition field has 2 lines.

  • @HooverDrumMajor Last time I checked, a football field has more than 2 lines.

  • when these guys play its not a performance ITS AN EVENT!

  • Nice clarinet soli at 7:05!

  • I love how they put the e-motion with motion, and chicostacos4, go to hell, u probally would never feel emotion in ur life, If u see no emotion here, u won't find any band that would satisfy u

  • Whoever said this show doesn't have an emotional impact doesn't understand what emotion through music is about. LD Bell 2010 was about 9/11, and the emotional connection through that show was through 9/11, not the quality of musicianship. Libertango at the start of this show is supposed to be a sexy dance, not a tearjerker about a national tragedy.

I have marched drum corps, won a brass title and medaled, and I think that the musical and visual demand of this show is higher than what I did.

  • They dont need hashes due to the fact that they are Asian. :P

  • @chicostacos4 You have a right to your opinion and i have a right to mine. I found that band you mentioned to be very boring and the fact is, Nishihara could march circles around them. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but it's true. They were a good band though. I watched their finals performance here on youtube. To each his/her own.

  • @magikkmann

L.D. Bell, Marcus, Broken Arrow, Avon, and all the other great US marching bands could march stars, squares, and triangles around this band.

The music is executed well but it's so easy that a middle school could play it.

  • @chicostacos4

I'm pretty sure middle schoolers can't double tongue OR have that flexibility. I admire the fact that you're trying to tput out of your mind the fact that they're better than any HS band in the US, but you're absolutely wrong. Even BA, Avon, or whatever have people out of time and different assorted issues. I dare you to find any phasing or timing issues with this band.

  • @VMFA115Starloric

What double tonguing? I didn't see any.

And as I said, their drill is easy and the area they're covering makes it even easier. No show will ever be perfect, not even this one.

  • @VMFA115Starloric

Oh, and this show had no emotional effect. I doubt anybody cried after this show, like people did after L.D. Bell's 2010 show. My father, a Vietnam veteran, cried.

  • @chicostacos4

Okay, so now a band's skills in marching or playing is measured in how many veterans it can make cry?

You realize that what you said has literally no relation to what I said, right

  • @VMFA115Starloric

...No, I said it has no emotional effect.

  • @chicostacos4

Again, no relation to the point I was succeeding in making.

  • @VMFA115Starloric

Y'know, it's really not good to say you succeed in making points. It's like saying you've won an argument, it's something that's just generally arrogant and stupid.

And I said that this show had no emotional effect. I don't see how that's not relevant to the quality of the show and its general effect.

  • @chicostacos4

Needless to say, whatever makes you emotional or not might make the next guy emotional.

So stop, your point is moot and you're losing this argument.

  • @chicostacos4 No, I don't think so. I have seen all of those bands, and none of them marches as well. It's just a fact. But you keep on believing that. That's your right. You obviously like those bands more and I like Nishihara more. There's really no point in us arguing anymore about it so this will be my final post assuming you don't insult me or something. :)

  • Marching cymbals... what don't Asians have?

  • @monstercorn a lot of groups have a cymbal line... it's not an asian thing.

  • @monstercorn Large Johnsons.

  • @monstercorn we have marching cymbals in our band here in indiana

  • 52 people are jealous because the got pwned by these guys

  • @hokiefan240 I'm sure a lot more people than 52 people got pwnd by these guys..... ;) haha

  • @hokiefan240 unless you marched for blue devils and you disliked it then what now!

  • but still i love this

  • they look like sliders x-x

  • Everything I can say is: OMFG! 8D

  • @falconpunch889 Of course I know that, it's better that DCI didn't have woodwinds since they're so fragile (coming from a clarinet player)

  • What songs are they playing?

  • unimpressed applause at 1:46

  • @kbone390

    Respectfully quiet applause.

  • Comment removed

  • @sabiker101 yeah because our economy is just so fucking legit at the moment (was using sarcasm for you slow people)

  • @sabiker101 let's not be a dick now

  • AWESOME SHOW!!!!!!

  • @falconpunch889 Lighten up. He was complimenting the band, saying that they approach the DCI level of perfection and quality, not that they ARE DCI.

  • seen way better
