Just remember, the ArmA community is possibly one of the best out there for games, if not the best. Ton's of new addons, sound mods, mods, etc are going to come out to make this game amazing. I can also fool around in the mission editor for hours making things, ArmA is awesome !
Well, the campaign was never the best thing about Arma, but there you go. Looks like they are still putting in the multiplayer the way it was. As long as they add superpowers mode again and various variations and mods for warfare and whatnot, then I would be so happy with this game!

Wow guys, as I'm going to post here, what I posted in another video. Battlefield 3, and ArmA 2/3 are completely different genres of game, sure they are FPS but Battlefield 3 is like the arcade version of ArmA, where Call of Duty is the arcade version of America's Army. ArmA is made for complete realism, America's Army is made for complete realism, where as Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty are made to be fun.

@jimcoolfilms Yes, there are some elements in Battlefield that look realistic, but overall the game is not. Go watch some real footages taken during the Afghanistan/Iraq War. For instance, the pace of real combat is actually very slow, which is not what you see in Battlefield. Things still happen way too fast in that game.
@jimcoolfilms I'm not saying that the game has to correspond to reality perfectly, just that, with exception to its graphics and minor details, it bears little resemblance to what we see in real combat due to its arcade-ish gameplay. There are some games that do not correspond perfectly to reality but are nonetheless realistic due to their non-arcade gameplay as well as their faithfulness to the intensity of real military operations, and some of these include Full Spectrum Warrior and ARMA 2.

Arma 2 Is still used as a training for newly recruited soldiers who has never been in a firefight. I love BF3 and how you play it and i agree it's more realistic than MW3 but still non of these games comes close to arma 1/2/3 In arma it may take more than 20 minutes before you use your firearm!

@jimcoolfilms Bullet drop does not "only happen" when the bullet goes "out of range" bullet drop is always there it is just as much of a problem <200 meters and if BF didn't adjust the trajectory of the bullet then 50% of the kill shots made in battlefield would not happen

Smoke looks a bit off... and some other small things, overall it's impressive tho, even more so if they keep the promise of it running better than the older games.
Few played the a2 campaign in multiplayer to begin with. Also, when multiplayer enters the picture, the game's scripting enters the realm of distributed programming. You thought multithreading was hard? Any non-trivial mission will be hard to get right in multiplayer, let alone a complex sandbox campaign. Limiting it to singleplayer is, comparatively speaking, waving a magic wand to make it work right.

guys your sytem is gonna run this better than arma 2. Arma 2 had a engine that ran the entire map at once. So you would be in city talking to your pals while your entire rig renders and computes a massive war on the other side of the map lol. Arma 3 they announced wont have that. So your gonna get massive fps rates over arma 2 from your cpu, BUT they also increased texture sizes and physics. So that chops it down. Its gonna run good. dont worry bout it.

But computing an entire map draws more memory and rendering power from your gpu and cpu, while that is being used a string of actions might occur, like an explosion or building collpasing, now you have to compute that with the entire map, everyone on the map, every animation, and every event. It needs ALOT of memory and speed. With only computing and rendering a small area, you have more memory for explosions and action packed events
@denvarhawks I know, we as customers and players are unworthy of their hard effort. But as long as you support them with money(nicely put as 'funds'), and pay respect to them, share the game with your friends via word of mouth, i'm sure the team working on ARMA series would be more than glad. :)

@cracktober I hope they can update the engine to have sounds like BF3, which truly has the greatest sound in all video game history. If they can get their sound system to be like BF3, echos, ambient cracks and so forth, I'd probably drop BF3 completely. It better be a focus for Bohemia here. Sound in a key element in the battlefield.

Few played the a2 campaign in multiplayer to begin with. Also, when multiplayer enters the picture, the game's scripting enters the realm of distributed programming. You thought multithreading was hard? Any non-trivial mission will be hard to get right in multiplayer, let alone a complex sandbox campaign. Limiting it to singleplayer is, comparatively speaking, waving a magic wand to make it work right.

guys your sytem is gonna run this better than arma 2. Arma 2 had a engine that ran the entire map at once. So you would be in city talking to your pals while your entire rig renders and computes a massive war on the other side of the map lol. Arma 3 they announced wont have that. So your gonna get massive fps rates over arma 2 from your cpu, BUT they also increased texture sizes and physics. So that chops it down. Its gonna run good. dont worry bout it.

@Vincini28 Really? Thats fantastic, because as far as im concerned, i know the old engine ran the whole map at once. Then you'd have to render files you didnt use. Thats why you probably would need a 5.000.000 $ PC to run the game! :-) Im pleased to hear they took that in!

But computing an entire map draws more memory and rendering power from your gpu and cpu, while that is being used a string of actions might occur, like an explosion or building collpasing, now you have to compute that with the entire map, everyone on the map, every animation, and every event. It needs ALOT of memory and speed. With only computing and rendering a small area, you have more memory for explosions and action packed events

@denvarhawks I know, we as customers and players are unworthy of their hard effort. But as long as you support them with money(nicely put as 'funds'), and pay respect to them, share the game with your friends via word of mouth, i'm sure the team working on ARMA series would be more than glad. :)
