Took a couple of years to get the factories (in China) built, and then the jobs started leaving in mass (about the time Bush Jr. got into office). Neither Bush, nor Obama, nor any congress has tried to reverse the 1997 deal. Even Mexico is losing jobs to China because of what was done in 1997.

@enslavetherich Yes, actually manufacturing firms are starting to hire more US workers this year. That actually has nothing to do with the exchange rate with the Euro, since shipping jobs to Europe was never really an issue. The trade deficit has actually shrank slightly against China as they are gradually allowing the Yuan to rise against the dollar, it will probably shrink more as they allow it to rise now that they have to curb growth due to inflation. None of those points are valid.
@slingshot2427 If the Yuan rises, then you will be paying more for those Chinese goods, don't see how that would help the trade deficit, except that you can only buy less of those goods for the same amount of Dollars. And I'm not talking about shipping jobs to Europe, i'm just talking about the exchange rate between Dollar/Euro over the last few years. Yes the Chinese will need to curb their inflation, but what about the US's CPI, not including energy and food, does that make sense?
@enslavetherich If the Yuan rises and we start paying more for those Chinese goods, it will become more efficient to produce them at home. Thats why China has manipulated its currency to artificially deflate its value in the past. The US's core CPI (excludes food and energy) last year was .6%, target is 2%.

@enslavetherich Including those two items the CPI was 1.7%, still short of the 2% target. I mentioned core CPI since that is what you spoke of in your last comment - "but what about the US's CPI, not including energy and food." The fed uses core CPI because food and energy prices are extremely volatile and prices tend to be transient (temporary) when extremely high or low. Even if wages dont increase in China a rise in the Yuan would fundamentally benefit US manufacturing.

China's economy is still expanding at a massive rate, although they might experience a housing bubble in the future too. The demand in oil and other raw materials will increase for a lot of the BRIC countries. Furthermore, Chinese officials said the country's rare earth reserves will last for 15 to 20 years (China Daily).

Um, OK . . . I hear the message . . . yet I don't hear any solutions . . . The "jobs" have been leaving this country since Clinton and the 1997 congress gave "most favored" trading partner status to China. Took a couple of years to get the factories (in China) built, and then the jobs started leaving in mass (about the time Bush Jr. got into office). Neither Bush, nor Obama, nor any congress has tried to reverse the 1997 deal. Even Mexico is losing jobs to China because of what was done in 1997.

@enslavetherich Yes, actually manufacturing firms are starting to hire more US workers this year. That actually has nothing to do with the exchange rate with the Euro, since shipping jobs to Europe was never really an issue. The trade deficit has actually shrank slightly against China as they are gradually allowing the Yuan to rise against the dollar, it will probably shrink more as they allow it to rise now that they have to curb growth due to inflation. None of those points are valid.

And I'm not talking about shipping jobs to Europe, i'm just talking about the exchange rate between Dollar/Euro over the last few years. Yes the Chinese will need to curb their inflation, but what about the US's CPI, not including energy and food, does that make sense?

Thats why China has manipulated its currency to artificially deflate its value in the past. The US's core CPI (excludes food and energy) last year was .6%, target is 2%.

I mentioned core CPI since that is what you spoke of in your last comment - "but what about the US's CPI, not including energy and food." The fed uses core CPI because food and energy prices are extremely volatile and prices tend to be transient (temporary) when extremely high or low. Even if wages dont increase in China a rise in the Yuan would fundamentally benefit US manufacturing.

China's economy is still expanding at a massive rate, although they might experience a housing bubble in the future too. The demand in oil and other raw materials will increase for a lot of the BRIC countries. Furthermore, Chinese officials said the country's rare earth reserves will last for 15 to 20 years (China Daily).

One of the reasons they hit the towers is money. It would have cost millions, perhaps billions to remove the asbestos. Another reason is because Silverstein took out a huge insurance policy related to terror attacks months before the collapse. Another reason has to do with the put options and stock trades that made millions for the people who knew about the attacks ahead of time.

Take note: when the US flag is altered in any form or fashion the people fighting under it or attending court under it, are not subject to nor protected by the US Constitution! A lot of courts are going to a gold tassel-lined flag with an eagle/phoenix on top, which is the flag of martial law flown during the Civil War! I'd like to point out that this video was written and posted by an American. An intelligent, well spoken patriotic American. Not only that, but a self professed hillbilly to boot. I know, I do agree with him. I have just became good at spotting these fundamental flaws in thinking. Flaws that render you powerless and will likely provide your death because instead of saving your own ass, you lay there praying to Jesus, and when you get no answer as usual, you affirm to yourself that you are "unworthy" and a "wretch" Which is actually become true at that point.

Do you see how your religion renders you powerless? You confirm to yourself every time you don't get what you pray for that you are "not good enough" or a "wretch" as one song says. You are actually driving away that which is prayed for, because the very act of praying that way confirms to yourself(affirms) that you can not do it without external help, and when the prayer isn't answered you blame either yourself or Jesus. Prayer is the first half of "blame" whether the results are good or bad.
