I agree, the capers do look far more impressive. And In my opinion that's what the morris needs to do to survive and attract more young people. It needs to look impressive and energetic, but at the same time keep with tradition at. A prime example of how to do this would be Dogrose Morris.
There are too many sides out there which do what I call 'arthritic' morris dancing, and that's what unfortunately gives it the bad reputation that it really doesn't deserve.
