  • The Congressional Prayer Caucus? As if Congress couldn't get things done before, now they're just going to sit there and pray!

  • I love to travel, take a few trips every year. But The USA I'll NEVER visit! All the "God this and God that" everywhere would have killed me, I'm sure of it!: )

  • Kinda funny there would be an ad for mormons on this channel

    TO THE MORMONS

Check out the YT channel, whyimnotamormon

  • Genk, I miss you SO MUCH on MSNBC!

  • Ignorance is the mistaken belief that religion has anything whatsoever to do with government. Keeping religion out of government is something the US should make it a point to do.

  • ...We do shrink God when Government gets bigger honestly. Look at the book of Judges, God appointed a leader... In 1 Samuel they reject a new leader and they decide they want a King. They in tern rejected God. Plain and simple, when we try and govern ourselves we reject God. "If you are a true Christian isn't this a disrespectful way to look at God... The way you look at him isn't just disrespectful its ignorant, and makes God out to be someone who doesn't care.

  • @OFMOT While you're talking to yourself over in the corner, sane, rational people will be figuring out how to deal with problems.

  • God isn't that "Small" he's actually that big. He is so big that he wants us to recognize him. Why would we not want God in our Government? Wouldn't he know what is best? Assuming we believe in him? God actually wants 24/7 praise also... thats not childish its scriptural.. .He commissions living creatures in heaven to worship 24/7 the temple of David was set up for 24/7prayer... the International Houseof Prayer in Kansas City has been praying 24/7 since 1999, because he wants that.

  • @OFMOT I'm always amused when someone mentions IHOP.

  • @OFMOT What an egotistical, egomaniacal, psychopathic and childish mother-fucker that God is! "Waaaaaaahhhhhhh! Waaaaaaaaahhhhh! I want you to be praised NOW! AND FOREVER! If you don't I'll Kill you! I made you with free will but you MUST praise me OR ELSE!"

    What a bronze age joke.

  • @Balsology great reply on character of god after Richard Dawkins

  • ever heard of separation of church and state?

  • The problem is too many people believe that an imaginary magical tyrant in the sky will "save" them from an imaginary "hell". That contributes to why America is laughed at so much. It's the 21st century, we don't need religion, religion is the inspiration of so much war, murder, hate, genocide, ignorance and discrimination.

  • Idiots can't get enough of god

  • Did they forget about the First Amendment? What about the Treaty With Tripoli, unanimously approved by the US Senate and signed by John Adams in 1797, which says, in Article 11 " As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion"? I guess the government forgot our own laws and it takes a regular citizen to remember.

  • I can't believe my tax dollars pay their salaries, and they spend their time with this god crap. They should drum you out of office for wasting lawmaking time. This country has dozens of very serious problems, and the congress is reaffirming their meaningless superstitions instead of addressing these...Our country is turning to meaningless platitudes en masse, while the overall condition of the country is approaching third-world. Oh for shame.

  • Nearly 90% of this country still claims adherence to Christianity. God damn, isn't that enough.? These asshole senators are going on these legislative crusades spending tax payer money to "reaffirm" this country's commitment to god. In all my years I have never heard of something so needless and asinine. Maybe these dipshits need to wake up to the fact that if after 2000 yrs Christianity still doesn't work then it ain't EVER going to work. Less "god" more sanity PLEASE!

  • I think the problem is that America has TO MUCH religion. Not to little.

And it has a particularly nasty and twisted variant of religion to, adhered to by morons who get strung around by their balls by any opportunistic crooked businessman from the right who screams 'gawd!' at them.

But I think the US is slowly starting to purge itself of this religious nonsense. And of the opportunistic crooked businessmen.

  • @TheSkunkCat yet they constantly complain about how discriminated against they are after they spend all day pointing fingers and damning people to hell

  • A "Congressional Prayer Caucus"?

    Hm.

And here I thought that the U.S.A. had a little thing called "Separation of Church and State" in its Constitution.

  • its 2012 and people still have imaginary friends?!?!? I feel sad for evolution humans were suppose to be the smart ones

  • Guys, seriously. Stop feeding the troll.

It's like a sign that says, "Don't try to pet Great White sharks with bloodied hands." Do I really need to tell you?

  • Things America needs:

    More God.

    More War.

  • We need less god in this country.

  • Religion should be a personal thing...not something that effects a WHOLE NATION >>

    You don't even know if it's 100% true :P

  • This is the inevitable result of the United States' mediocre education system.

  • omg I hate this turkish guy soo much

  • Every time I hear this kind of thing I just say one thing:

    SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

  • If god was real then he was big enough to create the entire universe when no one believed him because no one was there...

  • One man prayed for a good life his entire life and never lived. another man worked to make his life good he lived his life

  • Cenk needs God

  • @mosesanderson7 we are Americans, if something comes from America it's American, and the people of the Earth have more power than any one single nation. @everyone: much love

  • You want to fix all of the political problems? how about no more life time politicians like kennedy's, clinton's, and bush's. how can they represent the people when they aren't everyday people? these fuckers are selling out our country and doing it with a smile, and when did msnbc outsource their news anchor to india? WTF??? FYI i know he's from turkey but he's still a piece of shit scum bag.

  • FUCK GOD! FUCK ALL IMAGINARY FRIENDS!

  • We need a religious test for all politicians.

    Religious = Disqualified.

  • In the former USSR1917-92 atheism/evolution was taught daycare-university The Bible was banned&it was illegal to teach it to kids Within months of the fall if the USSR in 92 the Bible&Creationism was reintroduced in Russian schools The main behind it was Olga Lutsenko&she was an atheist then Death threats made her leave in 96&she lives in Canada&is a Christian now BTWshe is on youtube&I support her work financially Its amazing how fast the Bible&Christianity came back to Russia 20 years absent75

  • @RonSafreede

If you can write that with correct interpunction maybe then people will take the time to correct the incredible half-truths you wrote.

  • I think the writers of our constitution covered this issue over 200 years ago. Get your God out of my Government, Religion has already done enough damage to our Nation, keep your Buybull crap in your Church.

  • @NIGHTHOWLINGLONEWOLF......HEY RETARD HOW CAN SOMETHING THAT DOESNT EXIST BE AN ASSHOLE?"SOME APPEAR FOOLISH BY REMAINING SILENT AND OTHERS OPEN THEIR MOUTHS(OR KEYBOARD IN YOUR CASE) AND REMOVES ALL DOUBT" LOL

  • Wow talk about taking a story and twisting it to attempt to make a point, what a bunch of garbage. And someone should really read the word of God(Bible) before trying to convince people of his knowledge of God while showing his lack there of.

  • @mosesanderson7... you sound like someone pissed on your head. I am a Christian and right now I am probably exactly like you described... but heres the trick my little shitter... in exactly 1minute after I finish this reply i can honestly ask God to forgive me for shitting on your head....and if i realy mean it He will. But in your case its going to take some time... stop being angry at the world for the shit your parents put you through... growup!

  • 2:16 If you're a TRUE CHRISTIAN... XD

  • Does God wear clothes? Otherwise, when we "stand before Him", do we have to look up at his giant penis?

  • @JDWnSRV Sadly it is true, and the fantasy that is god will probably won't die until the last human does.

  • Jim DeMint's opinion is irrelevant because he started the recession.

  • In this day of age?! Listen JD God is eternal and after your measly few years here, you'll stand before him and give account of your life. So, if you believe there is not God, that's okay...really, but when you stand before him, don't say I didn't know!

  • @1LonePuma If you aren't trolling then you're as bad as the politicians with your fearmongering. Citizenship is the USA is not dependent on whether you believe in Jehovah or not. "Our" God? Seriously, you can't place ownership on an idea unless your mind or in this case country was the birthplace of it, which it isn't. And enough with the "you will have to stand before god when you die!" crap, it is pathetic. Thank you for your thoughts and have a good day.

  • @TKozlows: I your reasoning is particularly disturbing. We as Christians are to be the light in a darkened place/world/city/state. The point behind Salvation is to rescue people from this dying world by the light shinning within us. Unless their so blind that no light can penetrate? Nevertheless, it's not a request, but a command with God, as I'm sure you may have come across, had you read your bible. If you want to keep it to yourself, then I liken you to the third man in Matthew 13.

  • @1LonePuma Salvation is something a person finds for them self. It is something they have to choose. Whether it is Jehovah or Buddha or any number of other spiritual or ideological paths, if you remove the right to choose you poison the meaning. To explain further, if I am forced to believe in something, I will mouth the words but behind close doors I may say contradictory or even hateful things. I hope I made my thoughts clear not enough space, sorry. : (

  • @TKozlows: For someone trying to correct another, you sure don't know the word!

But whatever, I'm not here to give you and education in reaching the lost.

No need to respond, as I won't anymore myself.

    Best regards

  • @1LonePuma Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness.

  • @1LonePuma The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.. Criticism has plucked the imaginary flowers on the chain not in order that man shall continue to bear that chain without fantasy or consolation, but so that he shall throw off the chain and cull the living flower.”

  • @TheAsymmetrical: That’s nothing but an authoritarian quote from despotic Karl Marx, another demon possessed brother of Hitler, stone-cold murderers. I’m not at all surprised they were heaters of God. We’re all familiar their legacies. But that’s what appends when you or a nation turns from God!

Try being a little more original, use your own stupidity instead of borrowing it...silly boy!

  • @1LonePuma Oh boy, look up Positive Christianity and third reich my friend :)

By the way, authoritarian? What's Authoritarian about his quote? It is at the height of free speech and does not deny anyone their religion, it highlights the reasons for the continuing trends of religion, which was meant as a rebuttal to your point.

Karl Marx never murdered anyone, he wasn't alive for the rise of the Communism which he would of abhorred in the first place.

  • @TheAsymmetrical: I suppose you've conveniently forgotten about Tiananmen Square? Those people were run over by army tanks for speaking their mind, opposing Tierney!

Stop bothering me with your dumb-ass remarks! Because you passed the 6th grade doesn't make you the intellectual you pretend to be!!!

Be useful and go walk someones dog!!!

  • WOW!! I'm beyond disappointed in some people. I'm an American, even more so, a white male American. I'm embarrassed to call myself one sometimes. Whether you believe in "God " or not is a matter of personal belief. But to claim God as your own, or the property of your country is beyond childish. It's typical of Americas biggest problem and it's incredibly small minded citizens(not all, but the majority for sure): Entitlement! And by the way, America did create SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!

  • aarnwysock, for 'The Young Turks', your not even an American, as we American's do believe in the God of the Bible and none other, unlike you! It would appear you are in America because we do acknowledge the God of the Bible unlike your own country which is cursed! Don't pretend you understand the ways of our God when it's obvious you don't! I say, let you and your family be a cursing to all they do until you repent and turn to the God of the Bible!!!

  • @1LonePuma Because following the works of a zombie is the smartest thing to do.

  • @1LonePuma God is a lie, and the Founders HATED the corruption, greed, and bloodlust of the Church: GET THE FUCK OUT.

  • Spoken like a true ignoramus!!!

You have no idea of what you're talking about, but those who know the ways of God can see you are without salvation or any understanding of the ways of God!

You sir are a perfect example of one full of himself, the blind leading the blind and knowing nothing about God or His Word!

In time, you will give an account for every word uttered from your mouth, bear that in mind!!

  • @1LonePuma Religious faith not only lacks evidence, its independence from evidence is its pride and joy, shouted from the rooftops.

  • I can't tell you all how much we are pleased with Mr. Randy Forbs wanting to reaffirm the God of the Bible back into his rightful place in America, praise the Lord! For years America has been replacing God where wickedness and lawlessness has move in. Men like this guy has absolutely no understanding of what God has said, when turning from his covenant to serve himself. We are witnesses to the stupidity of man’s wisdom, trying to govern America without God. And this man knows nothing about God!

  • I can't tell you all how much I’m pleased Mr. Forbs wants to reinstate the God of the Bible back to his rightful place in America. We have been witnessing the stupidity of man trying to govern America without God. We see how without God protecting America our enemies taunt us at every turn and our borders have become unsafe. This man obviously is unable to connect the dots as to the condition of America and the world. But this is a perfect example of how far off America has fallen. Ignore him!

  • Brainwashed

  • take all you know about politics referring god and replace the word "god" with "US government" and read everything all over again. but this time also keep in mind that the minds behind the government you know may not be the ones showing on TV and everything, EVERYTHING will make a little more sense.

  • Translation: Lets keep the American public on a tight leash when the shit goes down and they discover there are hard economic times ahead. Don't rebel, God says you should work your asses off while the rich continue taking the piss out of you and tax the shit out of you.

  • Dude, of course god is dependent on us. If we stop believing in god, god disappears. The phantasm in our minds called god cannot exist without somebody believing in him.

  • Do these retards honestly belive there is such thing as a god? I honestly don't fucking understand how an educated adult can belive in such non sense. Open your eyes the bible is a complete fucking fairytale.

  • Unconstitutional, congress shall not pass laws favoring the establishment of religion

  • THERES NOT ENOGH GOD THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE GOD THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE WHOLE WORLD

  • LISTEN YOU IDOTS STOP BLAMING GOD FOR YOUR PROBLEMS

  • @KelleyGaither2000

    Yes, they certainly have! :)

They tend to defend whoever is the underdog. When the Christians become oppressed, they defend the Christians, when the Jews are oppressed, they defend the Jews; when the Muslims are oppressed they defend the Muslims.

  • The fact is that God is shrinking in America. He made this country what it is. It is our duty to uphold this country in the best manor suited to what His word says. What can go wring by following GOD'S word anyway? Its not like it can hurt...

  • @michaelcorreafilms I have a link to a video of a guy who stoned a 70 year old guy because he read the bible says to do it. just type in "Man Stoned to Death in US Because Bible Says Stone Gays" to find it since I can't post links on here. then tell me if you still believe your God can't hurt.

  • @michaelcorreafilms you're right it can't hurt. just like it didn't hurt when your "all loving" god killed all of egypt's first born.

  • @peacewavenow

I wish more Christians would join the ACLU. Too many of them don't realize that if government is allowed to support their religion, it will also interfere with their religion.

  • ftw

  • "Oh no, I'm shrinking!" - God

  • To be clear...I'm not trying to say that the founders were anti-theists/godless....I'm just pointing out that quoting individual founders isn't proof of anything.

  • Just trying to show that two can play at that game.

  • "What influence in fact have Christian ecclesiastical establishments had on

civil society? In many instances they have been upholding the thrones of

political tyrrany. In no instance have they been seen as the guardians of

the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty

have found in the clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government,

instituted to secure and perpetuate liberty, does not need the clergy."

    -MADISON (yes....Madison)

  • "I would not dare to so dishonor my Creator God by attaching His name to

    that book (the Bible)."

    -Thomas Paine

  • "The doctrine of the divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for

    absurdity." - John Adams

  • I have examined all the known superstitions of the world and I do not find

in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They

are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men,

women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been

burnt, tortured, fined, and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this

coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to

support roguery and error all over the earth." T.J.

  • among the rest of our everyday routine. So he set a day that we can solely focus on him and recharge our spirits in him, but to recharge physically also.

  • @fishmaniac777 btw...depending on what you and others interpret "him" as - Christian God versions and otherwise, I really do think that's a pretty good idea that has a lot of merit...and, it has largely been lost among people today. We all could really really use a day a week to regroup and focus.

  • I have so much faith in the general government of the world by Providence that I can hardly conceve a transaction of such monumental importance[as the frameing of the Consitition} should be sufficent to pass without being in some degree influenced, guided and governed by that .. beneficent Ruler in whom all ijanferior sprits live and have their being. - Benjamin Franklin

  • @Hughganaught I don't understand why you keep quoting individual founders They are relevant in that they were involved in the process of the founding of this country. They all agreed upon a Constitution, which I assume that you agree is the founding law of the land. As such, how are those writings relevant to a real conversation about US law and whatever spawns from that conversation.

  • The adaptionm of the Constitution will demonstrate visibly the finger of Providence as any possible event in the course of human affairs can ever designate it. -George Washington

  • if there really is a God, he has to be looking down on this nation and weeping because we are far from being reflective of the teachings of God

  • @BeingNobody1956 that's why im moving to canada!

  • @BeingNobody1956 Yeah, most people don't even know the second commandments that God gave us. Even Jesus didn't seem to know about them!

  • @DonHamburger See, this is the funny thing, you jump into something asking for PROOF when you don't even know one thing about what you are trying to back up. I was talking about history books and how none of them would tell us anything about evolution or creation. And I wasn't trying to explain the events of Christ, I was talking about evolution and creation. If you are going to come and jump in on something, learn to know what the heck we are talking about.

  • this video explains what dating methods do and work on, just type in this on youtube: Evolution Theory Proven False by Scientific Observation - Science and Evidence For Creation - 2 / 3.

  • sorry, it wasn't carbon 4, it was carbon 14 :/

  • @DonHamburger ...the carbon gets trapped in. The combination of all these factors shows that you can't realy on these methods. If you look up D.R Kent Hovind He goes into this issue and many others more deeply.

  • @DonHamburger ...results were absolutely wrong. They tested it on a penguin and then a snail and both results said that they were literally millions of years old. I couldn't rely on this kind of information. Another thing that I would like to point out is how we the planet's atmosphere is changing and has changed so much. How can we know how much carbon things could loose back then? Could there have been more carbon in the air back then than there is now? And once things are fossilized...

  • @DonHamburger ...so by measuring how much carbon is left in it, they can apparently measure how old this certain thing is. The way that they tested that this method actually worked was by dating something that they new how old it was for example, a fish that had just died and was about 6 years old. But how can you measure somethings that is hundreds times older than this? The information becomes much less reliable as it gets older. Further more, they have also tested on live animals and the...

  • @DonHamburger ...about events dating back to around 4000 bc. we cannot find any documentation dating before that time, so we cannot confirm that the earth is any older than this. Now you could refer to certain dating techniques such as carbon dating. The way that carbon dating works is through measuring how much carbon 4 is found in things or in the ground around that particular thing. They use this method because when something dies, it begins to break down and release carbon.

  • @DonHamburger ...it all began. As for the evolution part of it, I looked all of that up on the internet and also gained it from television programs. Sure history books tell us about events and people in the past, but they give us no knowledge or understanding about the origin of things. They can only date back to events that people have written about from that time. And those people had to live in that time or had that information passed down to them by others. So history books only tell us...

  • @DonHamburger Most of what I said was to do with general understanding and reasoning. The rest was based on my personal experiences, the experiences of others around me, and yes also to do with the Bible. You don't need history books to understand where everything comes from. In fact if I tried to look for any history books from the beginning, there would be none because there were no historians back then. We look at things existing now and in the recent past to give us understanding of where...

  • Just because the majority of adolescence in America do not believe in God doesn't mean that their is no God. Also, the majority of the world does believe in God and just because they are not commenting on this Youtube video doesn't mean they are not there.

  • @kjhuhtala1 Please show me where God is mentioned anywhere in either document? The Declaration of Independence mentions a creator, but that is not necessarily a God. So....maybe you should try reading those documents. Let me know when you find God in there. I'll be waiting.........

  • @EpiclsME I would disagree. That depends on which God and which version of that God and how they interpret that version of that God, etc. etc.

  • savior that we can realize the true importance of the fruits of the spirit: kindness, gentleness, meekness, self-control, love, joy, peace, faithfulness, and goodness (Galations 5:22). I think you lack some of things my friend, and i pray that God will change your heart to accept that Jesus died for each and every one of us because he loves us all no matter what.

  • in the click of a finger. I haven't heard one positive thing from you this whole time. I challenge you to pray to God to change your heart, because it's in the wrong place. God wants us to let him work through us to change others, not to throw hurtful words in their face. Stop being so hard hearted and let the real Jesus shine through you. Just because you say that you know Jesus and believe in the truth of God, doesn't make you a good person. It only when we have a true relationship with our...

  • Republicans are to god like twilight is to vampires... they dont really fit the bill when you really think about it: Vampires do not sparkle in the sunlight, and republicans do not believein jesus's constantly affirmed stance of elevating the needs of the poor and the sick above the wants of the wealthy and ruling class.

  • @Hughganaught Freedom of religon in the 1st amendment, refered to Christian demonations at the time of the Founders. They were concerned with a state sponcered church. As in the Roman Catholic in France, Spain, etc or the Anglacan church in England, or the Luthern in Germany. While they all shared the same Biblical worldview.

  • @Hughganaught I agree 100%. However, do you think that if there was a large Hindu population that they wouldn't have included Hindu denominations in the same way? I wonder how the Christian denominations at the time are any different from any religious denominations present in the US presently? I also have to say that there is no such this as a "biblical" worldview. Just compare Pentecostals and Lutherans. The bible requires interpretation and agreement is very difficult on many points.

  • @Hughganaught Have you ever taken a look at the Jefferson bible? He was a bible-thumper, but not your bible.

  • @Mams31383 Which Bible did he use? I know he also had a Quran, (which Keith Ellison swore on) and Jefferson sought a war with the Barbary Pirates and won. By our standared, he would be considered a liberal. I heard him described as a bookworm, more comfortable with his insect colection than working with people.

  • @Hughganaught he made his own bible - sans supernature. It's interesting if you google it. My point was only that it's not accurate to label the "founding fathers" as a group as Christians. So....does he not count as a founding father? You do know that they were an eclectic group, I assume. That was really my point. Many of them would not fall into the category of what many people today would call Christian...and Jefferson certainly isn't the only one.

  • @Mams31383 Judging another time by today's standards is wrong. And it is difficult to descern the worldview of the time. I have spent a lot of time studying the worldview of the Foundig Fathers. Yes, Jefferson was "out there", he spent a lot of time in France, liked wine & explored liberal issues. Some were Diests, but many were Christans. A Biblical worldview was more accepted. This was before Marx and Darwin, so things were diffrent back then.

  • @Hughganaught but, I don't know what you mean by a "biblical worldview" - there are sooooo many different ways of reading the bible. People disagree about how it is interpreted. Even if you look at the basic 10 commandments (ignoring the other 600+), only two have any relevance to how the FF's framed the constitution. If they were coming from a "biblical worldview," wouldn't they give the 10 C's some credence?

  • @Mams31383 They knew Scripture. They knew Romans 13, Deut. 28 and other passages on what the Bible said on the rold of civil government. God invented government. In several forms, self, family, church and civil. There are others as corperate and military government. It is reflected in their writings.

  • @Hughganaught also, not sure how Ellison or Barbary is relevant to this point. I would be thrilled to have everyone sworn in on the Constitution, but I don't really have a problem with holy books. Regardless, Jefferson is certainly a founding father and I was just responding to your comment that they were bible-thumpers, which is factually incorrect. Perhaps it was sarcastic and I missed the sarcasm?

  • @Mams31383 It was a dig at political correctness. Weather or not the Founding "Fathers were bible-thumpers, they took Scripture seriously and iimplemented many of it's principles. Their respect for Scriture is evident in their writtings.

  • @Hughganaught no...not really. Their writings have far more of an enlightenment-esque philosophical influence. Again....aren't the 10 commandments pretty fundamental to what I assume you mean by a biblical world-view? If so, why are only 2 of them reflected in the Constitution. Only 2/10. And their external writings concern me far less than what they put down on paper (carefully) with the intent of legal implementation. Aka, why are they not present in the constitution?

  • @Mams31383 Yes the 10 Commandments were foundational. (Exdous 19-222) It is the basis for English Common Law. Which includes, covetness. a progressive tax is covetness in nature. Not what we see today. The seperation of powers is found in Issah 22;36. Scripture docetails with scrupture and it's hard to isolate one part from another. At the time, all were relevant.

  • @Hughganaught I dont disagree with you on the theology part. However....when it comes to the American Constitution and law....why are only 2 of them included? If they were all relevant at the time, why did they not include 8 of the 10? Again...I don't have a beef with you on the scripture part (from what limited discussion we have had). But...if you claim that our laws are based on biblical principles, but only 2 of the TEN commandments are recognized...isn't that a problem?

  • @Mams31383 I don't wanna bud in or anything, but God did place the ten commandments as life principles. He speaks of it as a perfect law. A lot of laws enforced these days are based around some of the commandments too. Many of these commandments aren't enforced by the law, but are just basic principles that are considered acceptable to live by now days.

  • @fishmaniac777 Not really. No other Gods is directly rejected in the Bill of Rights. I would argue that most people work/are active on the sabbath. Coveting is the foundation of capitalism. I don't even know how you could spin no idols into something that is widely practiced today. Using God's name in vain is incredibly common. The others are principles that are held as important by just about all systems of morality (sectarian and secular).

  • @Mams31383 That's kind of what I meant in a way. It all comes down to what people believe is right and wrong in todays society. And yes, unfortunately these laws are being phased out in a way as you said. I don't really know much about the constitution and stuff, I was just pointing out a couple of things.

  • @fishmaniac777 That's what I figured you meant. I guess that I would just say that I don't see how the bible's commandments (10 and the others) constitute perfect anything in modern times. Of COURSE there are positive moral precepts among them. I do think, however, that some of them aren't exactly great moral laws. Take honoring your mother and father. Of course that is a good thing...but, not always. Same with the sabbath. Of course rest is good, but no work specifically on sabbath? Why? Etc...

  • @Mams31383 I could agree with you on the honoring father and mother thing. God put the sabbath there for a number of reasons, one certainly being for us to rest from our work and the other general things we do on an everyday basis. But he also put it there as a symbol for us to remember his creation of the world. And most of all he put it there so that he has a specific day for us to focus, worship and bring glory to him. Sure, we can do that everyday, but it can become just another side thing..

  • @fishmaniac777 well I´m a historian and the bible was written because of a bunch of "politics" order it, because it was a political convenience.

  • @Mams31383 You do know that there was a second set of commandments right? After Moses descended from the mountain, he saw a bunch of people worshipping a golden cow statue, and so he destroyed the tablets and had them killed. And so he went back atop the mountain and God gave him an entirely new set. The new set was. . . Petty to say the least, talking about God's hate for Yeast and boiling baby goats in their mother's milk.

  • @crazyinsane500 Of course I am. There are hundreds. Regardless, only 2 of the commonly recognized 10 were recognized.

  • @Mams31383 And the two laws, killing and stealing were a few of the laws that were there before the commandments were set in place.

  • @Mams31383 I can see how they can appear irrevelant. At one time, couples had to prove that they were married to get a hotel room. I can't' really prove it by statute or law. Today we are rejecting the 10 Commandments, we are taking it down in our schools, and we are passing laws that counter the 10 commandments. A progressive tax is Marxist and covetness. Multi-culturalism violates the 1st 3.

  • @Hughganaught No. The Constitution has rejected the 10 commandments, as a set of divine moral rules, from it's founding. I have no desire to get into a taxation discussion here. That is a totally different subject. It's not irrelevant. If there is a biblical foundation to our system of laws, why has there NEVER (since the ratification of the Constitution) been a recognition of 8 of the 10? I don't understand why you can't answer that point.

  • @Mams31383 Since a progressive tax is ungodly as is multi-culturalsism. Which was not present at our founding. If the 10 Commandments were rejected from the beginning, why did John Adams say: "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religous people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

  • @Hughganaught Again....taxation is not relevant to this dialogue. If the constitution was only made for a moral (which includes non-religious people), why is there zero mention of God or religion, except to say that the state should have nothing to do with it? Again...you can quote individual founders all you want, but all that matters is the ratified document....which has zero to do with any God(s) or religion. And, AGAIN, what about the 10 Commandments? Are they just not important?

  • @Mams31383 A covetness, Marxist progressive tax is a moral issue. I don't know why you can't see that. Dose a document have to mention God to be compatable with His teachings? Ths sum total of the content of this retafied document agrees with the teachings found in Scripture.

Some of the 10 Commandments apply to the individual, to the family, the church and to civil government.

  • @Hughganaught Marxism is a straw man. We are talking about the foundation of US law. I'm not arguing about compatibility. There are thousands of interpretations of Christian teaching. Of COURSE our law is compatible with some. I was under the impression that you were arguing that the foundation of our Constitution is based on biblical (Judeo-Christian - not your term... and whatever that means) principles. In a Constitution based on biblical principles, wouldn't more than 2 be codified?

  • @Hughganaught Btw, you have no idea what my position on Marxism is and I see zero relevance as to this conversation. We can argue taxation at another time if you want. Right now, you are claiming something about the foundation of American/Constitutional law.

  • ... that might make them feel. If you looked at your own life and told me that you are better than someone else because you love Jesus, you would be lying. Everyone is a sinner, and that makes us all unrighteous by default. It is only Through God's Loving grace that we are made righteous in HIS eyes. Just stop and think next time, just a thought.

  • ... I know that you could say that it takes 'millions of years' to evolve, so that's why we can't physically see it happen. But then I could say "why aren't there half evolved beings". Why are we so separate from the apes? If they evolve, why aren't some beginning to speak in a human language? When God created all of his creatures, he created them differently, sure. But he gave them all unique qualities and assigned them all for different positions in this world.

  • ... Where are the historical documents? Why weren't people talking about this before this time? No one saw it happen because, apparently it happened millions of years ago and people weren't yet here. I the big bang could create the entire universe in the blink of an eye, why couldn't it just create us right there and then instead of letting it happen over millions of years? Why aren't apes still evolving? If things evolve to survive and IMPROVE, then why are there still less intelligent beings?

  • .. the theory goes on to explain that over millions of year, the rocks on earth were turned into a soupy-like substance from exposure to torrential rain. And then bacteria formed and eventually became fish and the story goes on. Can I ask when this information was exposed to the world? In the 1800s. There was no evidence before then, there were no ideas about this theory. It came from a man who lived just 200 years ago...

  • ... there are a couple of things wrong with those statements. Aren't we all made up of millions of atoms? So if we are contingent, aren't atoms also? And the current explanation of black holes is this: when a star dies, it collapses in on itself, creating a supernova. Because there is such a massive amount of mass in such a small area, it's gravity pulls everything into it. But didn't the 'mighty big bang' create everything?

  • ... Ok, so back to 'evolution'. It claims EVERYTHING in existence came from the 'big bang'. I haven't found any consistent information on the next principles because there are so many different explanations... But it then contradicts itself by claiming that this 'big bang' came from either two atoms colliding at a rapid speed and thus creating such an enormous occurrence OR a black hole collapsing in on itself...

  • ... So it all comes to the original or ORIGIN, in other words where it first came from. When you think about the figure of God, what do you think (even if you don't believe in him). He is explained as the almighty, all powerful, never changing and everlasting, which indeed he is. It is also written in the bible that he "has always been and always will be". what does that mean exactly? Well it means that he is in-contingent, he doesn't rely on anything else for his origin...

  • ... if you think about it, everything that we know is contingent, meaning it relies on something else to be in existence. for example- where does a flower come from? It comes from a seed which was dropped by another flower of the same type, right? Well that flower which dropped the seed also came from a seed dropped by another flower and so on. Until you come to the first flower. It is the same with everything here on Earth and in the universe. We all have to come from somewhere, right?

  • Mate, I know a lot about the THEORY of evolution. I could go on and on about it. It states that in the 'beginning' there was a 'big bang'. can I ask you this question, where did that 'big bang' come from? and doesn't it bother you believing that you came from a non-living thing. I mean, if it were even remotely possible, it's still not a living, loving, caring thing.there is a word- contingency. It means: Occurring or existing only if (certain other circumstances) are the case; dependent on...

  • I usually dislike these videos. I often find the hosts too strident, but I must say, I LOVED this video. Truth is still ringing in my ears, oh the sweet delightful sound of honesty in a world of corrupt governments. Thank you.

  • jesus would be such a terror suspect today he had dark hair, dark eyes and taned skin just as any person born in that part of the world

  • @garveya1 Find me one Atheist that claims to definitively 'know' that there's no God.

  • @StuartGilli

The vast majority of atheists are agnostic, I'm not denying this. I suggest just open your eyes, I've met delusional atheists that claim absolute certainty all over youtube and the internetz in general. Specific user names, or emails I don't have on hand.

The point is, even if no atheists claimed absolute certainty, that doesn't mean it changes the definitions of the words. Anadus's definitions were correct, what are your points of disagreement with the definitions themselves?

  • @garveya1 At the end of the day there is no god so whatever.

  • @StuartGilliganGriff science provesd God. science says nothing casn create nothign there has to be a beginning,God dna proves God because dna doesant evolve and its more complex than your computer

  • They got elected to fix more jobs, but the GOP has no idea how to do that, so they're putting up as many distractions as possible so they don't have work on jobs.

  • I actually agree with The Young Turk whole-heartedly on this.

  • God is real.

  • @RaytownSoClassof2010 Prove it....

  • @Silezes Because evil exist,If God didn't exist evil wouldn't either.

  • This really was spot on

  • And USA think they are the best and greatest country in the world, I believe I speak on behalf of entire western Europe here when I say that we are laughing our asses off at how insanely superstitious you guys are, and how long you take to grow out of it.

Western Europe has laid religion behind years ago, why is USA protecting it by any means neseccary? I mean look at you, you're so terrified of letting religion lose its grip over USA that ur making laws to protect him!

    Idiots!
