THIS WAS COMIC GENIOUS!!! & you can tell thu out the WHOLE DAMN EPS the entire cast was doing their damest to keep a straight face! You can see Agnes wants to laugh to bad after looking thru those glasses LOL. But the cherry on the whole damn gag was watching Arther DIIIIIIE LAUGHING as Darrin makes a damn fool of him self!! COW BELL & ALL LMAO!! I mean Arther fall back into the den & just goes to pieces with delight of his handy work...GENIOUS!!!!!!!!! Today comics are a sad comparison.

Check out Season 1, Episode 26 Driving Is The Only Way To Fly. Paul Lynde played Samantha's extremely nervous car driving instructor.

He received such rave audience reviews from that episode that the producers of Bewitched asked him to be a regular on the show--specifically asking him to play the role of Sam's "gay" Uncle Arthur (as Elizabeth Montgomery later admitted in an interview).

Yup, Paul Lynde was gay in "real life". In the late 70's he was arrrested outside a gay bar in Utah. His career started taking a nosedive after that.

He never officially came out, but was known in Hollywood for secretly frequenting gay bars, getting drunk, and taking someone home.

Not that it matters to me...the man was comic genius!
