  • und am Ende die Stimme einer Frau auf Deutsch: "Das war der bla bla bla" :D

  • Bunch of skirts

  • I feel for the piper a little. He had to stop and for a second because he got away from the other music. It's tough to hear other music when you're drones are right in your ear.

  • @kurtb8474 good ear

  • It sounds like music played in funeral...

  • what is the song called

  • @CodFreak00 The Barren Rocks of Aden

  • @CodFreak00 I'm sorry... also The Brown-Haired Maiden.

  • Lovely stuff. After so many years away from the UK, this brings back some fond memories. Thanks for posting.

BTW, is that John Cleese dancing towards the camera with a grin on his face at 0:12s ?!

  • We are learning to Scottish dance at school...ITS SO MUCH FUN :D

  • oh, who know the name of this piece of music?

  • Nice dance!

  • @Ascaidh The Barren Rocks of Aden, twice, then The Brown-Haired Maiden.

  • This is beautiful

  • wie bei den bayern, nur andere uniformen und die tanzen etwas weibilcher... aber sehr schön!!! mag diesen TANZ

  • LONG LIVE KILTS !!!!!!!!!

  • yay! finally a dance where the men's skirts (kilts, yeah yeah) where the men's "skirts" are shorter than the women's! And where the men's outfits are more revealing than the womens! yay!

  • This is brilliant! I started Scottish Country Dancing about six weeks ago, and I could happily watch videos like this for hours.

  • You can never be too auld to learn Scottish Country Dancing.

  • To dance or not to dance. This scene should guarantee a good mood at any celebration.

  • @EngIishContingent this isnt morris dancing. this is a part of theese peopes heritage and maybe you need to try it to apreacheate it.

I bet you couldnt do this dance if your life depended on it

And as for the men, when scottish dancing began, it was ONLY men that danced, and they were SOLDIERS too.

  • What a lovely dance, and in a very lovely setting, too!

  • I want to learn how to dance like that. I'm Scottish and i've always wanted to see where my ancestors came from and also see the Highland Games.

  • Ah, this is beautiful! Love, love, love, love, looooooooooooooove Scotland!

  • wonderful..

  • i remember the words to this tune.........it goes.................We are the highland jocks we all wear kilts but we dont wear socks.but we wear neckties on our cocks tay keep our balls frae freezin.............

  • I am learning this here in NZ, and loving it. These fit dancers have given me more inspiration to get fitter and dance more. Well done the Scots. Love it

  • Vive l' Ecosse, les kilts et la cornemuse , c'est très joli!

  • its a bagpipe get over it!! anyway this dance is cool and sound good

  • yes the dance is very good

    look please watch?v=pW4s0sV666Y

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • his tin whistle sounds out of tune lol

  • How good is this! I now understand my mother's love of Scottish dance. Thanks mom!

  • I would like to know the names of the dances

  • Dances are: Angus MacLeod, Saxmundham, Reel of the 51st

  • To andreazuffer: I don't know the dance, but the first tune is "the Barren Rocks of Aden;" the second sounds a little like "The Braes of Killiecrankie." If I a wrong, please someone tell me! Then comes "Mari's Wedding."

  • The second tune is "Nut Brown Maiden" and at its usual speed too which is rare

  • Thanks so much for answering! Of course you are right, now that I listen again! I sing Nutbrown M. but it sounds so wierdly different on the pipes that I truly didn't recognize it until you told me. I understand that this is because the pipes can only play certain intervals and not the infinite number that can be sung. This is so funny! I can't wait to tell my friend the pipe major What a dummy I am--he will get a laugh.

  • Thats quite alright, however in truth I dont think the piper has practiced the tune all that much, but no one is perfect

  • Amazing, i like a lot..

  • like it!, from Indonesia

  • A really good dance but i need the music

  • Agree - lovely dance - and yes, Country dancing is nowhere near as energetic as Highland but it is more accessible/social and generally more varied. Particularly suitable for a mixed age group - and it is a folk festival after all, not a competition...

  • I agree - folk dance is very different from highland competition. I've loved watching this team though - not seen anyone who can touch them for variety and quality of performance - the scottish dance world should be proud of you!

  • Try watching Corryvrechan winning display at Newcastle Festival 2008. They've got proper dance shoes on there. Phenomenal!

  • Very nice. Thank you for posting this video.

  • traditional scottish dance, cool

  • I liked, so cool. Scotland is a wonderfull place. Thanks for upload

  • i love my scottish roots so much. i wish i wouldve taken dance lessons. like highland or something of the sort. oh well.=( haha.

  • @charby2234

"Wish you would have"? Why not now? Scottish country dancing is grand stuff at any age, and the more you do it, the more it'll keep you in shape.

  • @charby2234 go ahead take those lessons and be proud...

  • @charby2234 Never too late to start. :)

  • Agreed on the Montoire

  • Do a search for "Montoire" and see the entire group including the musicians. They are wonderful.

  • i like the dance..where did you get this?
