  • how to download it............directx 10.1

  • better get something with DirectX 11.

  • cool mouse

  • @NalarStory trust elite....something its amesome i have one :P

  • DirectX10.0 for DirectX10.1 great drivers download

  • Ok, I need some help with this. I was planning on get 2 ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB.

1.) Does that mean if I get 2 cards I will have a better Picture?

2.) And 2 cards with 2GB each will work together as 4GB?

3.) OR SHOULD I JUST STICK WITH 1 ATI Radeon HD 5970 4GB, SINCE 4GB IS OUT NOW?

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE, AND ABOUT HAVING 2 CARDS WILL IT GIVE A BETTER PICTURE? Thanx

  • @uphill248 probably too late but

    1) 2 card will not make the picture quality any better, however it will allow you to run games at high settings (effectively making the quality better)

2)No, when you xfire two cards it only means you have more processing power, it doesn't make the frame buffer equal 4gb.

3)one card solutions are often cause less annoyance, seeing as how some games don't support xfire and sometimes you may suffer micro-stutter

  • hey dickhead its me again, the proof is on my profile on the video called DICKHEAD

  • @killerman778 and btw what difference does it make its still in-fucking-possible and while im at it get GPU-Z and screenshot it, hell im going to post a video with proof that your completely full of fucking shit

  • ok then i could get a x300 direct x 9 card and update the drivers and make it a direct x 10 card, your the fucking DUMBASS hell thats to nice hows STUPID CUNT, drivers cant change hardware dickhead so STFU and GTFO

  • so what your saying is i could get a 6800gt get some drivers for it and make it a direct x 10.1 card pfft stfu your full of shit my 9800gt doesnt even have 10.1

  • @killerman778 no... no it didnt

  • 8800 gt is a 10.0 card :D

  • Silly kids measuring e-penis's with your tech knowledge. Its cute really.

  • @oddha win 7 has support for directx 11, but your card doesn't have directx 11, so it run whatever directx version is on your card.

  • Comment removed

  • Dude no it wont, it'll do directx 10... only ATI has directx 11 cards out at the moment. If you read up on cards you would know everyone is waiting for Nvidia to release their 1st DX11 cards which should be out in the next few months

  • Lol no it doesnt only the 5870 5850 and 5970 support Dx11... Your card doesn't even support DX 10.1 but only 10.0. I got a nvidia card too.

  • It doesn't matter If you have DX11 If you card doesn't support it you cant take advantage of the technologies like tessellation shader 5.0. I have a GTX260 and windows 7 but I can only run Dx 10.0

  • haha your funny

  • haha your a dumbshit.

  • douchbag the only chip brand that supports directx 11 is......

    ATI NOT NVIDIA,,,,

    with their 5000 series

  • yeah i have a radeon 5750 and it runs DX11 !

  • eehm eehm eeehm, behindert? Musst doch vorbereitet sein!!! LoL

  • what software is that? is that media espresso from cyberlink??

  • DO'S IT FISS TO ALL PC`S?

  • no...

  • fitt

  • and your point is?.................

  • ATI 4890 is a monster of a single GPU card

  • @workthis It is, only hating that I can't run DirectX11

  • wat a shitty video clearity... this video should be record using video recording software not by using camera lol...

  • Und keine Eibestandteile !

  • Ich glaub das is Fake lol so schlecht xD :D:D

  • if i remember right .1 has nothing to do with framerates its just a supersmall shadow thing u dont actualy see^^

  • 10.1 actually really improves how the data is managed making it easier for the card to handle it, crysis on my 9800gtx 34fps on high

crysis on 4890 enthusiest settings 58fps

    10.1 ftw

  • yeah buts its a bid diffrens betwing a 9800 and 4890 :P

  • Cool mouse, I want his mouse

  • that is 22 i do belave

  • is that a 22 or 24 "?

  • 22"

  • i don't see the difference... -_-

  • DIFFERENCE IS IN FPS its about +10fps soo its big difference

  • You will see a big difference in the frame rate

  • Ehh öhh ehhh ähhhh xD wasn da los xD

  • ähhm ähhhm ähhhm xDD

  • Boris, bist du's..?

  • kanns sein das der typ garkeine ahnung hat von dem was er da präsentiert ?! :D

  • lawl love that german accent

  • Fanboys are fun to watch. I'd say that ATI makes cheap mid-end cards while Nvidia does more expensive high-end cards.

  • Go watch some VGA tests instead of talking shit. ;)

  • I talk shit? Where?

  • ATI has high-end cards too. The 4870X2, 4850X2 (and maybe later the 4890X2). What are these in your opinion? Mid-end? XD Nvidia hasn't got better card then the 4870X2. They had the GTX295 but it's not available anymore (it was too expensive to produce it). So now the best available(!) card is the 4870X2, in this moment. And in DX10.1 mode it's much more faster than any Nvidia cards.

  • Well, those are high-end yes. But isn't GTX 280 better than 4870X2?

Btw, there won't be any HD4890X2. They confirmed it.

  • 4870X2 is much more better than GTX 280. It's fact, you can see it in any test. But it's okay, because the 4870X2 is more expensive than GTX 280. The only opponent for the 4870X2 was the GTX 295, but as i said it's not available anymore.

There won't be 4890X2 as ATI-reference, it's true, but the manufacturers (like Sapphire, XFX, Asus etc., i don't know which ones exactly) want to make their own version of 4890X2. And it seems, they will...

  • think about it.... a dual pcb/core card vs a single pcb card... not really i good comparison. a standard 4870 vs a gtx 280 is how it should be tested. both single pcb/core. besides id pass on micro stuttering. now the 4890 seems like a very nice card it can compete with the gtx 285. and the gtx 295 is still availiable... look on newegg :)

  • Yes, but watch those prices instead of how many cores are on them. Who cares about the number of cores? First of all the speed of the games and the price of the VGA matter. The 4870 is worse than GTX 280, but it's ok, because it's cheaper. ;) And yes, the 4890 is around the speed of GTX 280/275, and cheaper than them.

I've looked for GTX 295, you're right, it's still available, but i think those are the last ones, they won't make any more, because it's loss-yielding (at least Nvidia says this).

  • think about how many games thats have problems with crossfire and sli.... then that second core is completly useless (so is the ram for that core). gta iv had that problem and idk if it still does. and price isnt a problem if u are willing to pay for it. say if u want the fastest rig around :D

  • Price matters when we talk about 2 (or more) VGA's performance. If they are on the same performance but one is cheaper than the other one, then I'd coose that. :)

  • so you would like micro stuttering and incompatibility with some games?

  • There could be problems with dual GPU VGAs in some games, but you can see these problems on GTX 295 too.

And if we talk about HD 4890 vs. GTX 275/280, i'd choose the 4890, because it's cheaper and with a bit overclock it's on the same performance in DX10 mode... in DX10.1 it's more powerful than the Nvidia cards. ;) And there is no incompatibility or any problems.

  • i dont use vista there for im not going for dx10.. vista is horrible thats why i put xp on my computer. and im talking about a GTX 285 (2gb version) and yea i know u see those probs with gtx 295 thats why im talking about the fastest most compatible card today is the gtx 285 (2gb version) im getting one sometime this week off newegg. specifially the EVGA GTX 285 Superclocked (2GB)

  • microstuttering my ass

  • If you spend as much on ATi Cards to run in SLi as you would on one GTx 295 you would have better performance with ATi products.

  • that is the most pointless thing ever said

    they make cooler stuff?!

    ATI kicks nvidia's asshole.

    and cheaper to!

  • Nvidia DRIVERS SUCK!!!!! and ATI cards NOW ARE AMD :P

  • I lol'd hard at that comment.

  • ATI is good, wtf are you talking about.

  • You still don't need to post "ati sux" you're not never telling us why.

  • Comment removed

  • Why would you even post that?

  • is it worth upgrading from dx9 to dx10.1? what games will benefit from 10.1?

  • i have heard rumours that windows are gona do away with dx9 and only be dx10 compatable probably got cash out of nvidia and ati/amd to render dx9 cards obsolete forcing others to upgrade their inadequate graphic cards!!

  • Maybe WINDOWS will stop releasing Direct X 9 compatable games and products, but that doesn't mean other people will. Games will still be released that are compatable with DX9.

  • oh yea the folding @ home guy right?

    that guy is crazy!

  • why the fuck dont you ppl speak english?

  • why are you so white?

  • What's that got to do with him asking why they don't speak english. Imo, that's just racist

  • because they are aliens!

  • watch?v=cJg40Ad03sk

My hd 3870 / hd 4670 won't run software recordMyDesktop under Linux.

    Nvidia works, intel int too

  • Nice I love AMD Dragon Platform on PC and on Laptops AMD PUMA Platform . Nice Movie and ja 10.1 More good in Maming and Full HD Movies .

I have Sapphire 4870x2 and is the Smart Choice.

AMD - ATI Radeon Best Choice .

  • Es kann auch alles Unterstützen herrlich..

  • i could have been so funny if that Pc had an nvidia background hehe... "Whoops! What is that doing there, ehhh?" i can just imagine it...

  • nVidia running 10.1? hahaha good one.

  • So? The 9800 GTX+ (47232 MTexels/sec) has a higher texture fill rate than the GTX 260 Core 216 (41472 MTexels/sec), but it's still pretty obvious that the latter is superior. No disrespect, but if you think it all comes down to just those two variables, then you really should re-evaluate what you know about video cards. There are far more important factors to consider such as driver optimization and memory bandwidth.

  • I also forgot to mention GFLOPS.

  • no, im comparing the fillrates of all nvidias to those of its ati counterparts

  • Performance, User Interface, Release Date, Boost. Der sollte sich mal selbst hören! regelrecht Grotesk.

  • is there a card advanced enough to run crysis on about 3000X3000 resolution and yet still with 100+ fps?

  • lol, der typ war ja mal gar ned vorbereitet etc, wer warn das, ein arbeiter für amd?

  • U all suck!!! ah ah ah ah!!

  • S3 sucks...

  • nvidia sucks more

  • agree.!

  • stupid question, how many REAL games use PhysX on GPU?, the only one is Mirror's Edge

    3DMark Vantage is CPU only

any NVIDIA score that uses PhysX on GPU in 3DMark Vantage is invalid'

  • have a benchmark test!!!

    use without physX.

  • Comment removed

  • its not an OPEN standard, like say DirectX & OpenGL is a OPEN standard ;)

its just a matter of times when DirectX Compute Shader, and OpenCL comes out

  • anyway

nvidia going to release a card that can support direct x 11 soon.

all great games need more expensive card to be able to have smooth game play.

    so choose the right one.

  • 1. PhysX was not created by Nvidia they purchased Ageia in 2008 who created it.

    2. PhysX is not hardware based it's a middle-ware SDK.

    3. Yes you can get hardware that accelerates PhysX but you can do it on the GPU via software too

  • are they speaking english?

  • it's german.

  • This one really is really great, because it's only cost about 250-300 or more US dollars, usually when I see the HD 4870 OC'ed version, it costs about 300 dollars or more, but this HD 4890 has a pretty significant difference with the HD 4870, but yet, it's cheaper. Long live ATI!!! But I don't know with Nvidia...

  • they also have a GTX275

  • they have a GTX 275 True but almost 90% of the time the HD 4890 beats it and it even beats the GTX 285 sometimes

  • nah i love nvidia cause of their new technology called physX its has a logical calculation on moving objects on most games making it more realistic.

  • do you know that PhysX is only implemented in like 3 good games. yeah its in others but thos other games kinda suck.

it is in unreal torunament 3 but only on 3 MAPS. Thats it. PhysX sucks. u want PhysX with youre ATI card get the accelerator they make. problem solved.

  • the accelerator is no longer made and the company is now own by nvidia and is built into all there GPUs so you would need a nvidia GPU and ati and Nvida driver dont play nice together

  • sorry dude but now ati is a loser. you only know 3 games that uses physX my god! i think you only paly unreal tournament. more games are unto physX now.

    cause physX can give

    1. Explosions that cause dust and collateral debris.

2.Characters with complex, jointed geometries for more life-like motion and interaction.

3.Spectacular new weapons with incredible effects.

4.Cloth that drapes and tears naturally.

5.Dense smoke & fog that billow around objects in motion.

  • ATI/AMD isn't a loser :P, its doing fairly well in terms of pricing & performance..

  • lol. performance speaking try to becnhmark the competitor. amd is just a low cost provider. thats it!

  • Do your research dude.. :P I know hardware, I built my own pc, and I did a lot of research before buying an AMD Dragon Platform..I was actually going to go for an i7, but after seeing benchmarks, it looks like Phenom II is the better choice, so is ATI.. the 4890 Outperforms GTX 285 in some benchmarks and in some it just matches it.. it does loose in some but only buy a few fps and only on the games optimized for nvidia.. 4890 = $269CAD, GTX 285 = $439CAD (Cheapest)..

  • depends on what games you play remember that.... It looks even if you average all the games in all but some games tend to favour nvidia while others tend to favour ATI....

  • You do more reseach. i do a lot much of a search. but still the best money can buy is the winner.

  • but it depends on your budget type. for now most application is not to heavy to processes by the pc hardware right now. practically go for amd. but if you want more scores try built a more expensive one.

  • if u OC the 4890 then it beats the gtx 285 in all benchmarks ;)

  • Yeah, ATI Is awesome :P.. NV Fanboys are probably pissed.. u can get 2 4870's for $300USD and run them on Crossfire, it'll go faster then 4890 and GTX 285, and it'll still cost less :P.. I'm actually running 2X 4870's :]

  • performance vs price. ati cant catch up with the technology nvidia has.

  • You mean Physx? thats the only thing nvidia has that ati doesn't.. but then again nvidia bought it from Ageia.. which is why nvidia is supported with 3d monitors.. which is great, but other then that ATI all the way imo.. If money isn't a problem and you want to use 3d monitors then by all means go with nvidia...

  • nvidia is good in physics, ati is good in anti-aliasing, which one do you prefer?

  • But in MD5 and WPA(2) cracking is ATi still x-times faster :P :D

  • FTW u are wrong really. Ati have Havok physics engine too, but PhysX is more commercialized really. Good at anti-aliasing? Remember the HD3000 series???

  • Yeah i forgot about that, ATI Does have better AA, I didnt know about the Havok Physics.. that means ATI is better :], I myself have 2 4870's running crossfire.. ATi is cheaper and performs faster..

  • Problem is physX is everywhere, not Havok(hl2, done by cpu)

Yet there are only a few major titles adopting it now(i mean physX), so it's not really a big buy factor for me.

ATI, nVidia, I don't care, which card have the better price/performance ratio, I'll buy it.

    Currently proud owner of a 8800GTS (G92) :D

  • same, I don't care for physX much, but for me price does matter though, and thats why I have an AMD Dragon system :P

  • yea ati does a great job for bang for buck, although i don't have an amd processor, i still use ati cards sometimes.

  • nice good

  • Delivering physics in games is no easy task. It's an extremely compute-intensive environment based on a unique set of physics algorithms that require tremendous amounts of simultaneous mathematical and logical calculations.

  • This is where NVIDIA® PhysX™ Technology and GeForce® processors come in. NVIDIA PhysX is a powerful physics engine which enables real-time physics in leading edge PC and console games. PhysX software is widely adopted by over 150 games, is used by more than 10,000 registered users and is supported on Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC.

  • But the Xbox 360 uses an ATI card...

  • PhysX is a software.

PhysX on ATI effort gets helping hand from NVIDIA..

  • sounds like somone from Nvidia. and yeah the Xbox360 uses PhysX and has an ATI card wich means that ATI cards can handle PhysX just fine. its just that Nvidia owns it and they thinks its so awesome. well its not because it can run or the CPU and Cpus are getting more powerful every year. Nvidia Fail

  • on Core i7 Set-up. thats why there is a crossfire technology embeded on it.

cry cry to ati without physX technology. good move ati.

  • DX 10.1 For the Win :D

  • 2:29 system specs HD4870 1GB not HD4890

  • performs better in 10.1 or what and what games out the are even 10.1. none

  • H.A.W.X?

  • What transcoding software are they using at the begining of the video?

  • The game that will actualy use the DX 10.1 will allso install the latest version of DX like every game does, or you allready have one if you update your Vista regulary.

  • just ordered the XFX 4890!!! benchmarks rip shit up...its replacing an XFX 8800GT ....got a phenom 720 as well...ill do an unboxing for yall...should be here tommorow or monday (april 6 = visit to my PO) lol ........im gonna murder UT3!!

  • wtf...i just ordered a 4890 to replace my xfx 8800gt. for my Phenom II 720 BE system X_X. Did you unlock your fourth core on your cpu?

  • naw...havent got my stuff yet,,,and the board i have is old and doesn't have ACC

  • where i can get directX 10.1?My ati 4850 also can use this feature but i don't know how to get the directX 10.1...please help me..I am using vista ultimate sp1..

  • the 4860 comes with dx 10.1 on a cd.

  • Der Typ hat irgendwie keine Ahnung wovon er spricht...

  • Ich kaufe ein äääh

  • nice

  • ATI FTW!

  • w ati

  • I LOOOOOOOVE ATI .

  • Hmm Schöne sache bin zwar kein ATi fan aber doch ganz nett :)
