That's the leading edge of a big storm cell. It's a "shelf" The blue inside is a very thick downpour, possibly a hail curtain. The clouds hanging down from the main shelf are down drafts. Seeing this means get to shelter because you're about to have a huge gust of wind and alot of rain.

That's intense man. I've watched enough Tornado documentaries to know that's the edge of a supercell. I've always wanted to see a crazy sotrm like that in person, complete with the big wall of cloud making its way toward you.

Living in Wichita myself, that is indeed the header of a supercell, it could also be a Windshaft cloud. Live in Kansas long enough and you get used to this stuff. And yes, it can get crazy here sometimes.

I live in Wichita, saw that coming in from South-West side of town, I was on duty as a security guard. People wanted to know what was happening, the local NOAA Weather radio station failed & we did not have an Internet PC setup. That was one hell of a storm. (nothing bad happened)

That storm is called technically "Supercell Storm", and I guess this one is a High Precipitation (HP).

The blue-green area inside that "arcus" cloud is hail and heavy rain.

Hp supercells often produce tornados, but not always.
