  • My dad has this phone, he says it's a brilliant phone and I can see why! My current phone Nokia C6 is like totally INSANE! It's touch ain't working, they keyboard has gone wrong and everything. So, I was actually thinking of buying the Galaxy Nexus that's coming out next month.... but considering the fact that my Phone is not working anymore, I thought of buying this one this month, cause it's tough to live without the phone for me. So, I wanted some expert advice, what would you suggest I do?:D

  • @Darkorbitagi Hi. Well both phones are excellent. I have had my Nexus for 4 months now and it hasn't let me down. That said, my S2 never let me down. Remember the Nexus is very much about the raw Android experience. There are no skins like on the S2. And whilst the Nexus has a better screen, the S2 has a better camera. Its swings and roundabouts as to which is best. You won't be disappointed with either. In the UK, the S2 is cheaper so sometimes seems like a more viable option. Tnx

  • Really Samsung Galaxy S 2 I9100 Noble Black gives a trendy look and it is very smooth and handy set to use , It has various features like 4.27-inch Touch screen, Android V2.3 OS, 8 Megapixel of primary camera and 2 megapixel of secondary camera, Full HD Recording(1080p and with all these advance features its price is also reasonable(Rs. 29490),It is a good smratphone and become very popular now.

  • getting this for xmas!! whats the chance of breaking it if i put lite'ning ROM on?? good review btw

  • @robbiewhone Great, you will love this phone! Personally I would never flash a device because of the warranty issues etc. Obviously your call but you will really like how the phone already looks and feels. Merry christmas.

  • Great review, enjoyed watching it and I must say an informative unbiased opinion.

The one thing everyone states re the S2 is the display and having seen and used one up close I must say I am impressed.

Just waiting to see what ICS and Android 4.0 has to offer in the Google Nexus phone. But I still believe as you stated that the S2 will be future proofed for sometime still.

  • The 4s running iOS 5 will b a better phone in every way unless your some one who is after a bigger screen, but it has a lower resolution that the iPhone 4/4s

  • @IrishAssassin83 Perhaps you are right. I will look forward to getting my hands on one.

  • @IrishAssassin83 actually, the sgs2 won in almost every tests, like browser, camera, speed and gaming. look some videos on youtube. sgs2 vs iphone 4s. im not saying the iphone 4s is bad, just saying its a bit faster. but i agree sgs2 has a lower resolution but the screen is amazing when you have it in your hands!

  • Hi Thefutureproofed! First off, thanks for th great review, I enjoyed watching it and it definately cleared up a couple of questions I had! Anyway now that the IPhone 4S has been revealed, what are your thoughts on the S2? Do you still see it as having a slight edge on the new IPhone? Also, in terms of putting music onto the S2, is it as easy as say Itunes? Does it have its own file transfer system and player or how exactly does it work? Thanks!

  • @alexrocks03 Hi thanks a lot for your comment. the S2 in my opinion has a slight edge to the 4s. Mainly due to more powerful processor and better GPU. Samsung do provide the Kies software for data transfer. I however found this awful and a nightmare to use. I just used windows media player which is fine. You should have a look at the HTC Sensation XE. I have it at the moment and I really like it! Much better for music with the built in beats audio. Cheers

  • Great review! Subscribed and about to go deal hunting!

  • he has a lot of applications open using a lot of ram and it is still killing anything that i have ever seen in speed.

  • is this good for music and if you put in more than 16g of music does it slow down?

  • @ThaiPredator I found music playback very good and had no problems with slowdown. To be honest though I never had more than 16GB so I'm not sure. I would imagine you wouldn't have any issues.

  • @thefutureproofed thank you becuase i am thinking about buying this or a ipod touch 5g

  • @thefutureproofed hey can you download apps from the android market for free and does internet and email come with the phone?

  • @pinklovelove19 Hi. Yes there are loads of really good free apps on Android. Internet and email is also standard on all Android devices.

  • The itoy 5 is gonna get shit on by this phone when it comes out.

  • If I got the chance to buy Samsung Galaxy S2 USED for 3 months, for like 400$ without warranty papers. Should I get it ?

  • @Sauroslvl Hi sorry for late reply. I would say that providing it is a legitimate device and in full working order, then definitely a good bargain!

  • In gsetting this phone delivered tomorrow and i cant wait. Thanks for the review.

  • @matw01 Your welcome. I hope you enjoy it!

  • I just got a Motorola Photon 4G and I might have to take it back this just looks to good.

  • Nice review! What make is the case you got again?

  • @weve33 thank you. It is a case mate. Very nice.

  • When is this phone available in the US??

  • @colors2121 I understand any day now!

  • Im w8ing for the s3 :)

  • can you use the facebook and twitter apps in as one of your widgets as ive been told you can only use some apps as your widgets?

  • @themightyrm Hi. Yes you can use both Facebook and Twitter widgets. You can also access both with the social hub which is pretty good.

  • i am saving to get this phone next month.. Are there any heating issues during game play or charging?

hows the battery life (few hours of calling and a lot of texting on 2g)?

  • @benbrar Hi. I bet you can't wait to get this phone, you won't be disappointed! Battery life is actually very good considering the capabilities of the device. It is a lot better than the LG Optimus 2X. I get about a day of heavy use but sometimes a little less with really heavy usage. The phone can get a little hot sometimes but nothing to worry about. I have noticed a few times that the battery has drained really quickly and that the device felt pretty hot. This is fairly rare however. Cheers

  • can u tell me? does pattern lock come with this phone?

  • @ushahossain Yes it does

  • Best review I have seen probably :) gj!

  • @murwaz Thanks a lot!

  • wats the name of ur wallpaper?

  • @ushahossain Hi. This is just one of the standard pre-installed live wallpapers. Think it is called microbes.

  • I have a optimus 2x ....and i can say hands down that this is better !

  • top review, better than most that i've seen. so lucky that my contract just came up for renewal recently so just got this phone, it's such a fab phone, definitely blows the iPhone 4 out of the water

  • @UsefulMacintosh Thank you for you comment. I know you will love this phone!

  • Thank you for a well conducted review. it was easy to follow along with you and you shared many of the features that make this phone as great as great as its been sounding. Once it goes on sale here in the U.S. I will be picking it up.

  • @csm7 Hi thanks a lot. I hope you manage to get one soon!

  • It has big problem with 2G/3G reception.

  • Good review

  • @ha66ie Thanks

  • its only got 1GB ram

  • @uniman6699 Yes I actually said its got a 'full gig of RAM' not '4 gig of RAM'.

  • @thefutureproofed oh sorry dude lol its sound like 4 gigabyte of ram

  • @uniman6699 No worries bud, somebody else said the same thing!

  • hows battery life?

  • @Xxp0isonedxX Battery life very good. Get at least a full day of intensive use.

  • Starting webpage: Santander. Seen from that phone screen, quite ironic ;)

  • That phone is so nice. I'm getting the HTC Thunderbolt though because I'm at verizon. But if I was a T-Mobile/AT&T not sure what to call them since AT&T bought them out..... I would definitely get this

  • Quad cores in 1 year so not really future proofed.

  • AMAZING REVIEW! Normally, long videos like this feels like they're longer than they really are, but this one felt like it was 4 minutes.

About the NFC, I'm pretty sure that it is not only the UK which has been excluded the NFC, but I recall that it is every country in the world. A NFC version will be able later this summer, but I'm not 100% positive.

Sorry if some of my English is bad, it's late and I'm Danish!

    /Niklas

  • @niklasdksalkin Thanks very much for the kind words. Yes I believe this to be the case. Its a bit annoying really. Here in the UK we already have the infastructure to support NFC!

  • @thefutureproofed You are welcome! Yes I can understand that, that is the case. In Denmark we haven't any use of NFC, so I don't bother really, but from your point of view I can see the trouble!

  • Do you know when this phone is coming to Canada. Ive been waiting since it was rumored in December.

  • @afg99061 I am not sure I'm afraid. I did read somewhere that it would be July though.

  • About the display: I had a Galaxy S 1 and I came to hate the display, because of the stupid pentile pixel arrangement, and the consequences of that: horrible checkerboard pattern (or mosquito net effect) blurry small text, broken color gradients, etc. Now I have an iPhone4 and I absolutely love the retina display, however I'm more of an Android guy. How does the super AMOLED plus compare to the retina for small text? (sharp, readable), color gradients OK? no more checkerboard or weird effects?

  • @GeneticXY Hi. I can only really give you a personal opinion. Having owned both the Iphone 4 and the Galaxy S 2 I have to say that they are both fantastic displays. Obviously the retina has a sharper resolution but I personally prefer the Galaxy S 2 because of how good the colour reproduction is. It is also nice and bright (even in direct light) and contrast is excellent. I have not had any issues with regards to reading text etc. Retina display still excellent though.

  • only stupid thing in the review was that you said the game was almost console graphics....maybe the wii but no were near proper console graphics. but rest of the review was great

  • @M4dM4nMurri4121 Ha Ha, there is a tendency to get a bit carried away when you see such good visuals on such a small device!

  • @thefutureproofed haha :) so do you think this phone is worth getting as i have never used an anroid phone before, and is 100mb internet enough for a month or would i need more, for things like youtube and streaming vids?

  • this is really an amazing review....thnx

  • Comment removed

  • i want this badly

  • the next iphone will be better

  • Great review. Thank you.

  • No i do not mean the picture on the screen lock. I would like to know, if there is a possibility to change the mechanic of the lockscreen. Maybe you can tell the device just to slide than in every direction?

  • @Ajksterz Oh sorry, I understand what you mean. Unfortunately not. You can only have it this way. You can however use the standard Android finger pattern unlock or use a password unlock. Perhaps there is an app that can remedy this however? Hope this helps.

  • @thefutureproofed Too bad. It´s really the only thing that looks kind of cheap. The rest of the phone looks awesome. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work.

  • this is easily the best review of this phone on youtube.

  • arrives in Australia ~JUNE 1st~

  • come on release this phone on the US already..

  • 4 gigs of ram??????i tonight it had 1 gig

  • @hamoribi He said "You've got a full one gigabyte".

  • @Undergroundhiphoop Yes one Gigabyte which is more than enough.

  • im afraid to ask how the battery life is on this thing.

  • @crassordie Battery life is absolutely amazing. Even better than the Iphone 4 which is also really good.

  • Can this run 4g in the US?

  • what company is this phone for?

  • @leandro5537 Got mine from Phone 4 U because they had it exclusively for a few days. Mine is runnning on O2.

  • does it lag when playing gameloft games i hear it has a weak gpu and fps is capped to 60 thats the only thing putting me off as i cant deside between sgs2 ,htc s,lg op 3d

  • @danwilson1983 No gameplay is absolutely flawless. From what I understand the GPU is much more powerful than that of Tegra2. Take a look at the GSMArena review.

  • Comment removed

  • How did you change the screen-lock? The original one looks kind a cheap. Wondering if i will need a app or is it just a click somewhere in the settings? THX.

  • @Ajksterz Really simple actually. Just go into album and find a picture. Then press menu button and you will have a choice to set it as background or screen lock.

  • hi does it play all the videos on utube...caz i have samsung wave and the choice is rather limited thx

  • @namesound So far I have not had any issues with video playback. However I understand that you are better off watching Youtube through the webpage as the android app does have a few limitations. Watching through the browser is no problem at all on the large screen.

  • great review. just dont forget about picking up luisa lol.

  • @Muamarz Ha Ha, I am glad to report she was picked up on time! Lol

  • Great review!

How does image sharing work?Click the image in gallery and post it to whichever social network or picture website?

  • @gubbex Yeah dead simple. Just press 'share via' and you will get a list of all your social apps/email etc.

  • When is this phone coming to the US?

  • This phone looks awesome.

  • Ha ha thought I said million. Cheers for the feedback. Yeah prodigy are pretty awesome! Thanks for watching.

  • @thefutureproofed What people does it run on. ( Sprint, At&t etc.)

  • it is mega pixel not mili pixel but everything is ok. very nice review and btw you are a prodigy fan which is also awesome

  • This phone is so much better than the Iphone 4. Its in a totally different league.

  • @thefutureproofed

It should be better...iPhone 4 is a year old.

  • @thefutureproofed OMG i totally agree i have this phone and my bro has the iphone mmmmuuuuucccchhhhh better

  • do you prefer this phone over the iphone 4?

  • the phone looks amazing..

i was about to get an iphone4

but now i decided to buy samsung one !!

  • when you zoom into website text, does it reflow the text so you don't have to pan back and forth? Or is that a HTC only feature? It does it on my HTC Desire and it's a very useful thing

  • @jonnybarvo Hi there. No I suspect this is an HTC only feature. I agree it is very useful though!

  • @thefutureproofed Cool. thx for the quick reply. also, can you link me to where you got that case? I will be needing one when I buy this phone :) thanks!

  • @jonnybarvo No worries. Can't post the link but if you search for Samsung Galaxy S2 case on ebay then you will see the Case-Mate Barely there case for £14.95. Seller is moderntech-uk

  • @thefutureproofed Actually mate, it does. If you do a slow double tap on text, it will reflow it for you. Try it!

  • @harpersneil Yeah your right. Cheers!

  • Good review. Look forward to more of the same.

  • @ipoddropshipcom Thanks. I know its a bit amateurish but hopefully it will help people looking to buy the phone.

  • hi can you help me? i just want to know if the galaxy s2 can use video as ringtone personalize and can you video the sample of ringtone? you can try it by selecting the video then options and use as ringtone or use as contact ringtone thanks

  • @nelsonlee13 Hi as far as I can tell you can't use videos as ringtones. I have had a look through all the options and there doesn't seem to be a facility for this. Cheers

  • nice review

  • @fernandoag29 Thank you.

  • Thx, will get mine next week!

  • Got the case from an ebay shop called moderntech-UK

  • where'd you get the case?

  • Nice review
