Yeah, I remember that part of the beach is up near the fortress. To be honest, I found Rio to be a bit over-rated. It's got probably the most spectacular natural location of any city in the world, but most of it is quite dangerous for tourists and the nightlife is much more limited than the stereotype most of us have of Brazil suggests.
