Barry Humphreys is one of the old school well educated eloquent and witty oraters of his time.They're a dying breed.People just don't talk like that nowdays.They don't realize to be ad-lib off-the-cuff witty you must first have a solid knowlege of your language and a certain level of education so you can express your intelligence.It's the same with great rock artists, they've all had a background in classical music before they were able to successfully set themselves free creatively.

Barry Humphries is an amazing actor who doesn't get the credit he deserves, he should be in so many more movies, I can think of so many good roles the man could play both humorous and serious, Dame Edna is such a well played character that people forget that she is a character, that is the magic of Barry Humphries

Peter Cook used to call a phone in show on LBC (London Broadcasting Corporation) radio, late at night and pretend to be Sven from Swiss Cottage. He was really funny and the radio station knew who he was but never said. They just let him go on and on. Priceless.
