@HunterKiller308 That's how they rack the guns at Gunsite. I guess that way you don't put your head over the loud end of the gun when you're picking it up.
Add a Mount-N-Slot Tri-Glide to that Viking Tactical or other 2 point slings with Mash hooks, HK, or QD attachments, and get a convertible two-point to single-point sling. Best of both worlds.
When I was in the infantry, we only had the standard two point web sling (M16A2). We were only allowed to use it for parades. Reasons - it conditioned us to carry the weapon at the ready continuously, and it eliminated rattling. I wish we had single point and double point slings like this back then... I use a single point on my AR now.

you may have forgotten to mention that a sling can be used as an extra brace while firing.
