THat deacon was a hard ass drug kingpin for 20 years and one of the creators of the show was the one who actually arrested him? I mean who the fuck needs psychedelic drugs if you can watch the wire? I went to B-More back in 2007, and how it is on the show is the same way it is in the city , I don't even consider it a show but more of an documentary. The Wire has more realism then any "reality" show or TV program you can name.

I agree, while IMO I consider the "Sopranos" better then the "Wire", but when it comes to authenticity and realism, no other show in history will never even come close to what the Wire has brought us.

@shortcutbarksdale yeah, it might have had mild commercial success, but it's the kind of thing that will be watched for decades. They're teaching it at Harvard now, if that's any indication. Cheap novelty might sell at first, but quality will endure.
