The SN95 refers to the chassis/platform.. Hence, SN95 goes through 94-04. SN95 were 3,200lb cars. yet, pre new edge body style.... the Mustang should lose. not like i would expect anything differently since the 300zx had a price tag of 10 grand over the mustang. Even with a 2004 premium GT the Z still had a higher price lol
Yes, the z was much more expensive....However.... even if it was slower, the stopping and handling makes the car well worth the money. I've seen numbers like .90 gs on the skid pad with stock suspension. not to mention the fit and finish, interior, etc... and most importantly...by today's standards, where could you find a car to straight line, turn, and stop better than the z for the money? Considering you can buy a twin turbo z for less than $7000. This one wasn't even turbo

I'd much rather have a manual transmission, but my mechanic has been quoting me around $2k in order to get it done. v.v

But it shouldnt cost you that much to do the swap. I just bought a TT tranny with 50k miles for $120 on Craigslist. My other one is acting up so im pulling that one and im going to rebuild it.I recommend you buy the parts and I guarantee you it will be cheaper and at least you'll know whats going into your Z

Well didnt the mustang gt back then old stang in early 90s had 4.6 sohc v8 225hp and the 3.0 v6 in 300zx had 220hp so the 300 was lighter so it would be faster and the twin turbo was 300hp 3.0 v6.

Two years after their introduction in the Mustang, Ford started putting PI heads on the 4.6, which gave them a 40 hp boost. Stock, they were good for MAYBE 220 hp. Terrible engine. Take the same race with a stock 99 or newer Mustang and it would be different. Point is, there's always something more powerful on the roads. Well didnt the mustang gt back then old stang in early 90s had 4.6 sohc v8 225hp and the 3.0 v6 in 300zx had 220hp so the 300 was lighter so it would be faster and the twin turbo was 300hp 3.0 v6.

@CR4NN3RZ ROFL. He's racing a non-PI 4.6 V8 Mustang. Those motors were TERRIBLE. Two years after their introduction in the Mustang, Ford started putting PI heads on the 4.6, which gave them a 40 hp boost. Stock, they were good for MAYBE 220 hp. Terrible engine. Take the same race with a stock 99 or newer Mustang and it would be different. Point is, there's always something more powerful on the roads. Stop being an ignorant asshole and making comments like this.

That Mustang obviously has a shitload of miles on it. Look at that front end lift up on acceleration! Obviously the front end bushings are almost toast in that car. Not hating on the Z car, but dude, you should have picked a race with a clean, low-mile 5.0L fox body. I hate Mustangs anyways, but make the race a little more even next time!
