@kesheth180 first get a class schedual than look under the machine shop corses and their should be a class for STPO gunsmithing hobby course pay tuition than show up for class.
I started by tinkering around with a 22 rifle then I went to work for a pawn shop and was exposed to all kinds of hand guns and rifles. I got an education in firearms from the gentialmen in the video who is working on the stock. I enjoy it. It passes time and you have fun testing out the gun.
That is exactly what you need to do, take machining classes. If you do not have the fundimentals of machining, than gun work is not for you. High precision with the mill and lathe and also hand fitting is what is taks to build that tack driver. Many if not all gunsmiths are profesionals with machining work. Start slow it takes time to build the nessary skills. The class featured in the video is only one night a week and only 4 hours long.
Where is Norm Becket? I don't see him looking over your shoulder.

How does one sign up for gun smiting classes at this school, and about how much do they cost for a New Mexico resident.

Man, I envy you, been able to work with professionals with years of experience, that's just priceless.
Do you think that lathe, drilling and milling machinery courses will be a good start ?
What would be your suggestion for a beginner ?

Lucky you mate, here in Belgium it's as good as impossible to start something like that due to f*cked up gun laws.
