i know marie antoiniette was not evil at all, but how can one live in such luxury and never even wonder where it comes from? I see the same thing in Europe today, people go to Carrefour and Lidl and buy things for a very cheap price, but they never seem to stop to wonder how can it be so cheap and easy for them to have access to such comodities? Really, makes me wonder if things have changed at all!

I watched this when I was 7 years old and I couldn't recover from it. I am not sure if it is me or life but Love has been my biggest issue however it doesn't mean that I didn't meet or have the sweetest love that one day it converted into the most forbidden. And probably, I will die with the memories that only happens while I am dreaming. I wish one day to find the Love of Joy that will make disappear the love of agony. :( Now I am 32 and till today haven't found.

This is the first anime I've ever seen. I was around 8 when I watched 2 or 3 episodes in my own language, but that was all.. Now, ten years later I found this again and finally I could watch the whole series. And it's perfect! The Rose of Versailles is amazing, totally wonderful and I'm so happy and sad at the same time. Ah, so emotional ~

This is certainly one of the best animes ever made. (': Even though the ending is tragic, the story is really beautiful. Even though it's an old anime, it really touched my heart. The Rose of Versailles, certainly a wonderul wonderful anime!!

thanks to the uploader.. first i wasnt much interested but as the story goes its getting more and more interesting and it's worth watching this series. it's tragic and touching story. im very teary in the episode 37-40, made me cry alot... just like oscar said she wished she knew andre's love for her but it was too late... yeah i guess if she realized it from the beginning im sure they have at least have spend a romantic time together... all i can say this is a very beautiful story!

I was looking for a romantic anime and some forum pointed me to this one. I hate to say this but I wish I didn't watched it, its not that romantic and its so tragic, there are lots of scenes that made my blood boil, hehe. anyway thanks.

@TheZensandra It's the style of manga (cartoon) hits in Japan in 70s- early 80s period. As time changed, the style has changed too. Now the manga in Japan rarely resemble the emotional and patriotic like what it was in old times. It becomes realistic, self-search, and too many unnecessary erotic scenes or alternative sexual preferences.
