@TheSicknessIsTheCure It's nice that modern music is so well produced, but that's 'cos we have better technology now,y'know? Irks the shit out of me when people hold yesterday's production up to today's standards.Awesome screen name btw.
@Metallicghost81 The thing is, a lot of the classics didnt NEED that extra production. It was great in its own right, especially the 80s singers haha. And thanks

@karatecat100 well man...It means a lot of people are cool and so am I... I'd be cooler if I were a hot lesbian touching myself looking at the mirror, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm cool anyway...

i went the same way...since my dad likes Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,Deep Purple and all the classic rock plus my brother likes heavy metal...i am following the same way...
@D3nz3lCr0ck3r damn im not alone with that, my dad raised me on classic rock like pink floyd, deep purple, zepplin, rainbow, rush, and a lot of others, and then my cousin raised me on metal from pantera, metallica, megadeth, sabbath, ozzy, bls, slayer, chimaira, and machine head

The loss of Randy Rhodes was felt not only by The OZ Man, but by all of their fans. They were a team that resurected OZZY...Even Karen will attest to that. Allright well I was listening to my Speak of the devil tape(live) and whoever played on that one is ten times better than the other but i assume it was randy becuase its dated 85' . The way he plays on children of the grave is amazing and im sure as hell that ive never heard zakk play like that.
Rhoads was a prodigy, but since now you're comparing him with other non-ozzy guitarists and others that don't even play metal. I'll feel free to mention, Hendrix, who died at 27. And unlike the others mentioned here, he DID revolutionize and changed the way everyone plays the guitar since he left, and thats including guitarists before him. Enough said, but yeah among Ozzy's guitarists, although my favorite is Zakk, Rhoads is by far the best.
Randy was only 25 when he died. He was(is) the greatest guitarist ever. If you think Jake or Zak are better: 1,Jake was a turd 2.Zak is better than Jake, but nowhere close to Randy 3. Randy is Goddd. 4. People that say that are so obsessed with effects on guitar, like pedals and such, and don't even appreciate soul or heart put into guitar playing, like Randy Rhoads had. Anybody who plays guitar a lot can play scales fast and pinch notes, but Randy could do more. RockInPeace
@KronSnatchels you just CAN'T be more blind. How can you name a guitarist tha died so young "THE GREATEST EVER" Randy had a lot of potential to show. He had a lot of room to explore yet. This is just blind faith. You like him, I do too. But he never got into the "greatest" league. And he always said that, now YOU came along, and you say that he's the greatest ever. WHAT THE HELL ?
Stop blind faith. He was amazing, not the greatest ever.
@Taikamya What the hell does his age have to do with anything??? He was better at the age of 18 than anyone you can name. Obviously as he got older his guitar knowledge would improve, but that doesn't mean he didn't shred better than everyone else. You show me someone who can put that much passion and soul into their guitar and I will show you a liar. Besides Peter Frampton.
Please stop with all the ads. VEVO is not appreciated. If there was a way to forgo the advertisement with a click, I would be appreciative. This is an open forum thatshould be respected.
I am Heavily influenced by the work of Rhoads, his tone and ability just astound me, it is such a shame that he wasn't with us for longer as legacy as he was easily the most unique and talented guitarist of his generation. The only other Ozzy Guitarist I really do like is Jake.E.Lee as he is a great guitar player too
Obviously zakk is not and never will be as good as randy, but he had a completely different style. However, its pretty amazing how ozzy was able to work with so many different guitarists who had really different styles and create some of the heaviest songs ever.
Randy Rhoads was still just a kid when he died. He was an amazing talent just barely getting started. What we lost when he died was not the stuff he'd already done, but rather then things he might have done.
@devolve42 I can't imagine how epic Randy would be now if he was still alive! He would be more of a god than Zak Wylde, Slash, Kirk Hammet, Vai, Satriani, and Ozzy put together!
@devolve42 i agree bro to bad he was done he told ozzy he wanted out i think to teach like his mom did or something like that so his days with ozzy was literally numbered any way he had enough of the rock star life and i while its a HUGE loss i can take solace in the fact hes death really didnt change much in the grand scheme of things maybe a couple of more songs but i doubt that much i think that was to be his last tour
@theshag20 he could have played with quiet riot again or toured as a solo artist or somthing, mabye realesed a classical guitar record with a classical nylon string guitar only or somthing like that, i dont know
@monkeybutlers1234 he could have later if he wanted no doubt i agree however it was not looking very promising if anything he prolly would have done session work i would figure cuz he was just that smart about music and that talented but he didnt want the rock life style with the touring and stuff so i dont c him getting with any band really as that was not wat he wanted at the time but yea i reunion of the QR or something but i as of that mind set he had from what i gather he was done wit it

Allright well I was listening to my Speak of the devil tape(live) and whoever played on that one is ten times better than the other but i assume it was randy becuase its dated 85' . The way he plays on children of the grave is amazing and im sure as hell that ive never heard zakk play like that.
JudazPreist 9 months ago
@JudazPreist rhoads died in either 81' or 82', cant remember. im pretty sure if its 85' it was jake e lee.
rookieguitarguy 8 months ago
@JudazPreist it was Brad Gillis of nightranger.

Taikamya 8 months ago
@Taikamya What the hell does his age have to do with anything??? He was better at the age of 18 than anyone you can name. Obviously as he got older his guitar knowledge would improve, but that doesn't mean he didn't shred better than everyone else. You show me someone who can put that much passion and soul into their guitar and I will show you a liar. Besides Peter Frampton.

I am Heavily influenced by the work of Rhoads, his tone and ability just astound me, it is such a shame that he wasn't with us for longer as legacy as he was easily the most unique and talented guitarist of his generation. The only other Ozzy Guitarist I really do like is Jake.E.Lee as he is a great guitar player too
LedZepGuitarman 9 months ago
Obviously zakk is not and never will be as good as randy, but he had a completely different style. However, its pretty amazing how ozzy was able to work with so many different guitarists who had really different styles and create some of the heaviest songs ever.

Randy Rhoads was still just a kid when he died. He was an amazing talent just barely getting started. What we lost when he died was not the stuff he'd already done, but rather then things he might have done.
devolve42 10 months ago 76
@devolve42 I can't imagine how epic Randy would be now if he was still alive! He would be more of a god than Zak Wylde, Slash, Kirk Hammet, Vai, Satriani, and Ozzy put together!
391001023 9 months ago
@devolve42 i agree bro to bad he was done he told ozzy he wanted out i think to teach like his mom did or something like that so his days with ozzy was literally numbered any way he had enough of the rock star life and i while its a HUGE loss i can take solace in the fact hes death really didnt change much in the grand scheme of things maybe a couple of more songs but i doubt that much i think that was to be his last tour
theshag20 8 months ago
@theshag20 he could have played with quiet riot again or toured as a solo artist or somthing, mabye realesed a classical guitar record with a classical nylon string guitar only or somthing like that, i dont know
monkeybutlers1234 7 months ago
@monkeybutlers1234 he could have later if he wanted no doubt i agree however it was not looking very promising if anything he prolly would have done session work i would figure cuz he was just that smart about music and that talented but he didnt want the rock life style with the touring and stuff so i dont c him getting with any band really as that was not wat he wanted at the time but yea i reunion of the QR or something but i as of that mind set he had from what i gather he was done wit it
