Not being funny, but i live 5 mins away from this road and travel on it almost everyday. The speed limit on this road is 70mph not 50. Maybe the reason you're being over taken is because you're too fuckin slow!
when you say you're retired that's a big clue... definitely too much time on your hands! Besides most speedometers over-read, so I'm sure not many people are actually breaking the speed limit in this video...

Motorbikes are dangerous. Most riders put themselves at risk, and others. You will no doubt be familiar with the cyclist who was speeding along a country road in humberside. He was travelling at speed and didn't see the tractor in front until it was too late. He lost control and ended up wrapped inside the tractors wheel arch. Obviously he didn't survive. Police investigations showed that speed was a contributing factor! For all viewers" watch Road Wars" it's an eye opener !
@peteralannaylor Also a more main and valid reason for him not seeing the tractor was because of all them farming idiots in the field and what ever they were cutting or spraying was flying over the road which in itself causes a big danger to any motorcyclist if it got in there eyes or thoat, that could cause coughing fits or blind the sight of the motorcyclist until its cleared from his eyes.
Really you should have added that to your original comment.
Accidents occur through both direct and indirect causes. Someone somewhere had to do something to cause it!!! Let's be sensible and look at it from all directions. What are your views on speeding motorists? And what are your views based on?
I see your viewpoint and agree that when he increased his speed it can be confusing that he is speeding. He is actually travelling within the speed restrictions on that length of highway. His views are in my opinion that" vehicles travelling in excess of the speed limit are reducing the liklihood of stopping in an emergency" & placing others at risk.
Forgive me for being picky, but for someone who is complaining about cars breaking the speed limit,at 3:20 he does say i'll stick at 60 now and see what happens.
This whilst still in the 50 mph section.Seems to me he'd do better to concentrate on the road rather than looking at rear facing cameras.
Think you need to look at that chip on your shoulder and how do we know you're not doing 40.... Why the hell would anyone fix cameras to their bike and wear a high vis and run commentary.. giving out peoples registration numbers, accusing them of speeding when you have no evidence that is submissable in court! Impersonating a police officer springs to mind. !!
yeah i think 99% of all road users speed or have exceeded the speed limit sooner or later, however the being both a driver and motorcyclist i know as well as most people that bikers on average exceed the speed limit by a huge amount in comparison to car users so this video 1.proves nothing other than you get overtaken by a lot of cars 2. that you have a little too much time on your hands and 3. that you were not paying half as much attention as probably the people speeding by were...
And how much concentration were you showing, riding at 50mph while changing from one camera to another.
And having the audacity to give out peoples registration plate numbers is atrocious as you havent proved you were doing the limit also.you seem more preoccupied as to which camera to use.
Maybe you should put YOUR registration plate on here so that the car drivers like myself can watch out for you, when i am in a car i wouldnt dream of concentrating on a cam..
I drove this road the other day and the most dangerous thing about it is the time spent taking your eyes of the road to check your doing less than 50 whilst trying to keep up with the flow of traffic
You, sir, are an idiot & a danger to other road users: You've endangered you own life and that of others by making this pointless video. You're scum & should have your license taken away. That is if you've passed your test at all which i very much doubt. You should know better at your age.

i totally disagree you moron. youre probably one of the drivers who think that you are above the law. speed does actually kill eventually and not always the speedind driver that is affected. innocent motorists and bikers killed because of loss in concentration or control. another bad example is mobile phone use, and its a fact.... but we all do it until were caught. I support safe driving and this video is a name and shame kind of footage... cheers advanced biker for your commentry
@peteralannaylor are we watching a different video ? the only person 'named & shamed' here is the nutter making the video, seems to have absolutely no idea what the speed he's doing & can only relate the speed limit to other road users when he should be paying attention his own speed, which was ironically in excess of the limit. the gravest danger, clearly portrayed in this video, it that the person making it is likely to kill himself, or worse, an innocent road user, through lack of due care
Nearly everyone has gone over the speed limit at some time, its not a motor cyclists or a car drivers fault that your vehicle is capable of doing 170mph or more ! blame the manufacturers for allowing this, if the vehicles were governed like lorries are then there wouldnt be a problem, be carefull people cos soon it will be an offence to sneeze whilst driving !! and ps: its not the speed that kills, its the thing that you hit !!
talk about bias! 90% of bikers i see are speeding. traffic going at the 40mph limit on a dual carrage way and here comes Mr. Biker filtering down the middle 5 or 10mph faster.
and as for bikers only being done for speeding.... well thats just a blatant lie now isnt it. Not a single biker has been done for speeding in an average speed check. Know why?? no front sodding number plates and a shiny helmet covering their faces. Lovely
good video, just shows selfishness of some people, there used to be an ad saying "overtakers see you at the undertakers" speed kills and thats a fact.
Pity people can't comment without resorting to abuse and foul language.
But thats the society we live in now. . . . also a shame they don't have the brains to figure out that the video is just to show that its not just bikers who speed.

We motorcyclists are always getting a hard time for speeding, yet car drivers do it just as much but never get mentioned in the papers., this video just draws attention to the fact.
We can't win... Stick to speed limits we get overtaken and abused - Go too fast we get grief also. Have had many cagers sit on my back wheel while on the restricted sections on the A44 from Woodstock to Ma Larkins chipping Norton
You Total Twat! Now go do it on the A53 between The Swan with two necks and Loggerheads on a Thursday evening. You dippy Fat lump of Lard. As you think its all car drivers at fault. Only last week yet another so called good biker lost his life due to speed on this stretch of road.
And the most common cause of road accidents is sad retired fooks who pay more attention filming cars so they can have a winge! lifes shit, get over it
Depends in which Police Force area you are and if they are out to catch speeders. It used to be the unwritten rule, but I seem to think these days no so.
Once upon a time is Staffordshire you in a 30 mph zone, anything over 46 and you were done. Now I still think all these speed checks are revenue based and not always road safety.
Just been to Northumberland, not a single camera spotted.
I totally agree with you and also think they want you to speed in order to take your hard earned cash,,,i have been banned twice and have totally learned my lesson after i paid loads and had 4 years of driving taken away from me,,i am redoing my lessons/test and hope to stay in the speed limit from now on,,,,especially now i think i am a bit more mature and that 10 MPH extra could mean life or death.
who the feck is this not another wanabe cop . as for speeding bikes yeh they do and so do car divers who cause most of bikers accidents . how many bikes do you see in motorway pile ups? , and how many feckin speeding car drivers do you see getting the jail even when they kill folk ?????????.
you obviously have a chip on your shoulder...ive driven a truck down there every day for 5 years and never seen any accidents...but ive seen plenty of speedin bikes...maybe i"ll go and stick a camera on my car and go up the cat n fiddle road, and see 100 bikes overtake me on a blin d bend...... but maybe i wont cause im not that sad
I drive a truck out of stoke and wish that was as bad as it got! I also drive a car and a motorcycle, allbe it an old BSA. I`m afraid the bikers reputation is well earned, lets also remember many bikers, yourself included I`m sure, are mature and sensible riders! The vehicles in the video in my opinion, Were staying within acceptable limits for such a major route. The distractions of modern day driving are, I fear, More responsible for unsafe driving. Still enjoyed the local vid though, Well done.
So many of these roads were recently 60 & 70 mph limits before being reduced for no good reason except you-know-why. The UK road system is being turned into a traffic queue, deliberate creation of congestion and limiting peoples' productivity. There is no golden morality in observing even the stupid rules IMO. Will you be so compliant when it's 20mph everywhere in towns?
Some of your vids are very good advancedbiker, but who are you to announce peoples' reg. numbers on YouTube?
if your so safe how are you being able to comentate on this video so clearly are you watching the monitor rather than the road , everyone speeds on the a500 motorcycles and cars vans trucks get a life
the A500 is one of the rare oppurtunities u get to really bury the loud pedal in stoke, and the speed limits are pathetic in some places,so thats why we ignore them so when u see a red corsa cruise past at 90,give us a wave mate :-) (by the way should u be givin that vans plate out to the world?)
yet again feel the love in the room. why is it there is always a percentage of folk who feel the need to sit in front of a pc and give abuse on the net. perhaps these folk should get an agent instead of sitting handling themselves. lol ......... ride safe..... G
I would suggest that the Audi overtook the camera bike (at speed) to show utter contempt at you and your toytown police lookalike motorcycle... Just as I would, regardless of the speed limit.
Do you get lonely up there on your pedestal you sanctimonial prick?
Your lucky you don't try and pull that crap in Australia. I hope i never have the misfortune to meet you and the rest of your sycophants. Please, do the rest of us motorcyclists a favour and sell your motorcycles (all of you who support this guy as well) and go buy cars. Or we will be forced to hunt you down and kill you all.
Thats amazing!!! Thanks for bringing these speeders to my attention. I will look out for them...Your a life saver(get it ;-). I hate car drivers like that. Well done you !!!
This video shows two things. 1 - the producer is a misguided idiot and should spend his time watching his own driving (arguably by switching camera views and concentrating on people behind him he is driving without due care and attention)and 2 - Speed limits were set when we drove A30's and the like with drum brakes and top speeds under 60! A major review of limits is needed. Also remember that any law will only be upheld if the majority of society respects it, thats how law evolves.
I'm also from Stoke on Trent, and I have to agree with you fella, it annoys me quite badly when I'm ticking along at the limit and some eejit goes blasting past. The ones who crawl past aren't so bad admittedly, but the ones who are doing way over the limit annoy!
And this coming from an Impreza driver! I'm actually quite respectful, especially to bikes (my bro's a life long safe biker) and small motors!
It's cool to see a vid of our local area on here too!
I'm an observer with Cleveland Advanced and find your vid's to be informative. Keep it up matey, and that's a neat camera set up you have there. Saw one of your vids on the Throttle Jockey forum.
Oh dear oh dear haha. You really are very very sad indeed. Do you drive a Volvo T5 estate in black and keep a Hi Viz jacket on the rear parcel shelf, so you can get a 'hard on' when drivin up and down the A500 all day long pretending to be a copper? I do not agree with what you are doing, it is an invasion of privacy you power freak. You need to get a life quick before you lose it on your motorbike. Regards.
Tnanks for the comment. No I do not drive a Volvo and have no desire at becoming a part time 'bobby'. This clip was in response to all the publicity motorcyclists were having for speeding, yet car drivers do it aswell.
Thanks for your response. You do have a point, speeding motorists are everywhere. However, infringements of a 50mph limit on the A500 dual carriageway I do not see as a serious offence, It is a fast road. We need to clamp down on 30mph speed limit abusers, especially in built up areas. Also, I think if you had done the covert camera on a 60mph country road and observed the amount of tailgating and dangerous overtaking that occurs, then maybe you wouldn't have had as much flak. Regards.
I agree on the 30 mph abusers and the 60 mph idiots. I think it is all down to lack of enforcment, where are all the traffic Police Officers. Oops, replaced by revenue cameras.
Very true! speeding is dangerous no doubt, but speeding in built up areas as you say is really dangerous! And yes, tailgating, I take that very personally! Personally, I always leave a generous gap to the car in front, it's respectful, and also helps to preserve life! Though two and four wheels are as guilty.
Tailgating used to be not so prominent when I started driving about 12 years ago, but now it almost seems the norm!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dont agree with this video. serves absolutly no purpose other than to highlightthe fact that this chap has absolutly nothing better to do with his time. A500 gets conjested enough we dont need busy bodys on bikes gettin in the way
oh what a sad old man! Bikes are a menace as stupid people ride them. I will do a video of them driving between lanes of traffic clipping car mirrors, speeding and jumping red lights.
Theres a road near me on the Gower where a police bike regularly waits with for speeding bikes. Its a 40 road which seems like it should be a 60, with no houses etc . The police will let cars go by them at over 60 but will flag bikes down who are doing over 45ish. Im told its because its a nice area for biking so they are trying to reduce road deaths. Who is more likely to kill.. a bike doing 45 in a 40 or a car doing 65 in a 40??
I ride around there too when the weather's good, but I take it slowly around blind-spot bends because I encounter a lot of modified 'granny' hatchbacks taking chances to rally past at ridiculous speeds...
at the end of the day who's licence is going to get the points if they get caught yours or theirs.

Comments noted, but how is it driving without due care and attention ?

Polopowered,
Very true! speeding is dangerous no doubt, but speeding in built up areas as you say is really dangerous! And yes, tailgating, I take that very personally! Personally, I always leave a generous gap to the car in front, it's respectful, and also helps to preserve life! Though two and four wheels are as guilty.
Tailgating used to be not so prominent when I started driving about 12 years ago, but now it almost seems the norm!

dont agree with this video. serves absolutly no purpose other than to highlightthe fact that this chap has absolutly nothing better to do with his time.
