  • to bad international lied and got sued

  • ok so the prostar is fuel effeciant. but what else is good about it? not much. its uncomfortable, its interior is cheap, the maxxforce engine has the weakest engine brake known to man. its amusing they actually have a switch with 3 stages. the highest stage will barely slow down a bobtail. and put the fuckn airhorn where the airhorn should be.

  • Cascadia is the real Cadilac.

  • Are both equiped with Same engine?? Or Freightliner with DDC and International with navistar?? Maybe it could be a better engine comparission than a whole truck one.

  • just got out of a 2009 pro star into a 2012 cascadia,,there is no comparison,,cascadia wins hands down,,no interior noise, driver comfort and better fuel mileage!

  • Kenworth's T700 is better then both of these

  • es mi mayor anelo tener en mi poder este carro pero por razones economicas es triste para mi no tener tan hermoso vehiculo

  • i looked in the door of my pro star day cab vand it said MADE IN CANADA wheres frieghtliner made? or peterbilt?

  • 13 letter shit spreader

  • I drove the t4900 box trucks and they really wernt the best. they have many problems. id take a freightliner ova international anyday..

  • оаь

  • i like the freightliner trucks like the fld and classic

  • @379peterbilt530

Freightliner Columbia, it's a classic modern design.

  • @SecularTechnology i like those too

  • I drive a prostar very sweet truck i get around 7.5mpg

  • Those guys at International are genius's. I think they are the only ones to keep a freightshaker Cascadefailure running that long. A Lot of owner/operators are facing ruin because they bought that german piece of junk.

  • @kdraper2007 no such thing as german junk look at american, tell me a brand that youre proud of..ps i dont know how long were going to live on this planet but one is for sure us will never be as good as germany....

  • @1994naser Hitler said something similar and we kicked the SHIT out of Germany. I guess you didn't get the memo, Germany is not superior to anyone. Especially the U.S.A.

  • @SomeRandomFeller the reason why you think like that is because you never left your county if you look you will see the difference...

  • @1994naser You are a complete dumb ass. I was in the navy for 6 years and have been to over 30 countries. Something I'm sure you can not claim. I'm sure you THINK you are worldly and cultured, but that's just your tiny german nazi brain at work . Dumb ass

  • @SomeRandomFeller good for you,i know how much fun you had sucking balls each of them.. anyway im not from germany but i wouldnt mind if i was wish i had more time to talk with you.

  • @1994naser go fuck yourself motherfucker

  • @SomeRandomFeller you do the same thing fat asshole.

  • Volvo, nuff said... :D

  • PACCAR hold their value simply because there are so many fools out there who want one. KW not too bad, but Peterbilt sorriest truck built. Doors won't stay closed, windshields leak, lousy heater/a.c. system, only steering wheel tilts, not the column like all other trucks, too heavy, noisy, poorly insulated. Last good Pete was a cabover. 41 years experience

  • @berhorst59 I agree. I like kenworth alot, but peterbilt is cheap. Even though they are both from paccar, the kenworth designs are alot better. Drove a 07 t800 for 2 years and it was fantastic. Also drove a 07 peterbilt daycab for 2 months before I got sick and tired of that pos. The best truck I ever drove to date was the prostar, t800, and western star 4900. Hopefully one day I have the pleasure of driving a lonestar.

  • Comment removed

  • @SecularTechnology No they're not. That's like saying DAF is the same build as a peterbilt. They're different designs, and they're put together differently. I know, I've driven them both and had a t800 for 2 years.

If you say western stars are piles of shit, then you're a hypocrite. You do know freightliner is the same company as western star? they're all from daimler-benz. Retard. Yet magically the western star has outstanding durability compared to your shitty freightliner.

  • @crackparty Crackparty here's more proof Freightliner's nickname is FREIGHTSHAKER, and I'm a truck mechanic)

  • @SecularTechnology and chassis

  • @berhorst59 Peterbilt has been riding on their name for a while, and Kenworth still has pride in their work

  • BULLSHIT!!

  • freightliner = junk

  • They needed to have a bunch of 4wheelers on the track cutting them off, passing them then slowing down, sitting in Chicago traffic jams for a few hours then see who won. Neither would. All new trucks look like cheap toys. They all cost too much. They all hold their resale value like a box of rocks. Your better off restoring an old school Western Star or Marmon and putting another million trouble free miles on it.

  • Just stating a historical fact Maulinmercedes, Nazis were germans, Mercedes built vehicles for the Wehrmacht, now they're building trucks. Still Nazis as far as I'm concerned.

  • I don't know what you losers are talking about, not only does the Prostar have better fuel mileage but the ride is superior and the styling much better than those Freightshakers. Freightliner is a joke, why don't you guys keep supporting a German company that continually our-sources jobs from the US. Nazi lovers.

  • are you racist fag....

  • @lindsman68 Not the day cab International trucks they realy suck. I know I drive one.

  • freightliner rules!!!

  • @halfalanche I just drove a freight shaker for a week while my old 9400i was being overhauled. it sucked bigtime. rode terrible, no power, cramped sleeper. yuck!

  • En Mexico solo tenemos putos Kenworth T600 viejos xD... In Mexico we just have old Kenworth T600, or T660 ): personally I don't like Kenworth... I love Freightliner because of its designs, my favorite truck is the Freightliner Columbia, and In Mexico, is not common to see other models like Prostar or Sterling trucks, or Peterbilt, I just have seen the International 9200i on the road, and the Prostar in the agency

  • Myopic drivers view. Companies look at cost per mile over the span of a lease or buyback program. Everyone has an opinion, But the top ten most profitable and top ten largest fleets in The US run a majority Navistar or Freightliner. Todays truck market is dominated by EPA requirements. Say goodbye Kitty Cat. A good enine during its day but as outdated as the as most the people on this thread

  • my cascadia will on run the dam pro star any day

  • Navistar has a great truck better than the freightline. Better turnning and visibility counts. Ive been driving for over 20 yrs and the Pro Star is my choice. Cascadias are way to heavy. and Volvos are a joke.

  • our company has these cascadias and they are freakin heavy. 800 lbs heavier than our columbias. they are a nice truck but cant haul the same amount of freight. c'mon freightliner! Get it together. I highly doubt the piece of shit government will give us an extra 1000lbs

  • I wouldnt havea fright liner, or Inter both r pices of shit..my KW will out last both shit boxs. and Im not even a big KW fan

  • what kind of shit is this my cascadia is a hundred times faster than this piece of SHIT

  • What kinda shit is this? OK, so the international would catch fire in the dash and burn your ass up while you sleep, or the freightliner doors would fall off and your ass could fall out and get run over by your own trailer or dash could fall out of the freightliner and paralize you from the waste down. There's your damn comparison. Now, Which one of these raggady bastards do you want?????

  • the prostar is a nice truck but my freighliner has more room and i spend alot lost time in the shop for repairs. both trucks are good but i prefer the freightliner

  • i have a pros star with eaton auto shift and had problem x1000 with that truck no more pros star for me

  • How does the International compare to the Volvo 780? Volvo claims theirs is the best out there.

  • @Herps85 The Intl is more fuel efficient. Volvo even had a fuel chart on their OWN website which states such for a couple months. They've take it down now, but Int'l always throws it up on the PowerPoint at presentations.

  • @jtr8178 any trucks better than a vovlo

  • i grew up around trucks it been in my blood for 3 generations my old man still takes me im barley a teenager but i can stay up all night. peterbilts are nice so are frieghtliners

  • @Herps85 el internacional es un trailer veloz y fuerte

  • I have driven both Internationals and Freightliners (2005's to current model years). I personally rather an international truck, be it straight or tractor. Now, I am six feet tall and 175 LBS. I have always felt "lost" when driving a Freightliner; there's too much space in the cab - I have to always "reach" for controls. I find that very distracting.

  • The new Cascadia is a real lemon and it's messing up many owner/operators's lives, including my own, and Freightliner should be ashamed. One of us has taken the time to put up a website about all the problems he's had with his truck. Kudos to him for the effort. You can check it out at: (triple w) freightlinerproblems (dot com)

  • Thats because cascadia's are built in MEXICO now......Built a new plant in Mexico and layed off about 5000 U.S. workers....

  • Thanks for sharing the link. I forwarded it to a bunch of people I work with in the industry, and I'm sure his hits have taken a spike. :)

  • they both look nice

  • being a proud trucker is nice but being a paid trucker is great so get the truck that gets the best mpg

  • mpg aint everything, durability is more important and kiting the truck right for the job. but the most important is finding good enough jobs so you can have a cool truck:)

  • to all you idiots cracklin on the Prostar and Lonestar: if the truck sucks so bad, why is it that almost all major fleets are running them and International is picking up HD market share? Keep picking your belly and going broke in your Paccar products boys...

  • @mryn8327 major fleets run them because they are CHEAP.. the paccar trucks hold their value because they are BETTER.. just facts

  • @mryn8327 because big fleets can afford to buy loads of cheap plastic junk, taking a gamble on the ones that actually run right. Mega carriers could care less about how comfortable the driver is. The 1st 2 years of the prostar were a disaster. Doors that literally warp, air line leaks, faulty weak engine brakes, and the Junkforce engine that gives off toxic fumes from UNDER THE HOOD due to exhaust leaks while doing a regen cycle.

  • @mryn8327 After 6 months in one of these death traps I was overjoyed to go back into a Paccar product.

  • put about 45,000 miles on these prostarsand keep track of your repair records, and you will see in 3 years of mantaince it already surpasses a frieghtshakers 5 yrs of the same. at least the merger of volvo/mack has increased the reliabilty of mack and pushed up their fuel economy. buts its to bad that cat dropped out of the heavy truck market.

  • ours says fuel efficiency target is 5 mpg but only gets 4.26mpg and its always over heating, we only do a 4h trip with no hills at all. sry but its not great truck, id go bk with my peterbuilt

  • It's probably specd all wrong. Probably has 500hp,9 speed, and short 3.90 gearing.

  • I like the look of the prostar I dont like the fact the computer controls everything in them. I will keep my 02 columbia. it aint loaded with all the emission crap that screws up all the time. so what if it has a 12.7L detroit in it ... i get 7.5 mpg

  • they are not the best looking

  • Is it me, or did the guy narrating this sound like the same guy who does the voice of Master Chief from Halo?

  • Crap VS Crap

    Waste of my time!!

  • I used to build these Cascadias in NC until I got laid off. As a matter of fact the plants in Mexico had MUCH higher quality than ours did. Too many good ol boys not giving a shit and a BUSTED union cost us all our jobs! Don't blame the mexicans for companies moving there, blame the CEO's!

  • blame the union, never seen a union shop build a quality product. they're too busy worrying about who's got senority over whom. & when is break, & that ain't my job.

  • This is a piece of crab!

  • The frieghtliner cascadia is made in santiago mexico and is a piece of crap,The dd 15 and dd 13 are good engines with a low end torque curve, but is it worth your job?Go with the international alway's

  • i think cascadia is better for me

  • I've heard some bad things about the cascadia, electric problems, body panel problem, etc.

  • i think international is the best truck manifacture out there. their trucks look better and their prostar is more fuel efficent.

  • all that this proves is that international must be lossing buisness to freight if there trying to bad mouth them, and another thing if international is so great why does that customer have freightliners in there fleat and not all internationals

  • how do you not know that they are switching over from freightliners to internationals? some fleets run at least 2 makes of trucks.

  • gosh i miss driving around the Us in those. hey anyone can tell me how the truck business is doing? i use to own a company up in canada. running loads from TO to Chicago. was great.

  • H U G E

  • yup yup

  • I used to own a 2006 Kenworth W900L. Nice looking truck it was, but it never met a service shop it . When I decided to get rid of it, I looked at a variety of trucks, the T2000 and T660 by Kenworth were on my list, then I started doing my research, I bought a International Prostar Eagle instead. I have to admit, I am very impressed with the ride, cabin space, looks, and most importantly... the fuel economy. Even with 44,470 pounds on I-77 in WV with the prostar I never dropped below 6 mpg.

  • Hey, all brands have their place. I myself like the w900 with a detroit but when i'm on the farm we run an old international 4700 with a t444e in it. does everthing we need on a farm, but on the rode she strains to do 60.

  • That's because the 444e is just a small v8 diesel its only 7.3L. Though I'm sure it hasn't quit on you not once. A lot of Owner Operator's use the old W900's where I work and they get terrible fuel millage usually below 5MPG. I run a Freightliner Columbia with the MBE4000 Mercedes engine 450HP, if I beat it hard all day I get 6.2MPG hauling doubles, and if I roll at 62MPH, I get around 7.3MPG. It really boils down to driving style and air resistance.

  • you call that a race my freightliner colubia is better than that international prostar wil and never will drive a prostar its a piece of crud my friend saw 300 interntional truck wreaks and at a truckstop i talked with a person who owns one and its his 3 time today filling up one to day i drive a cascadia than a prostar

  • just to clear this up if you drive a company truck you dont have one to compare so shut up no one wants to hear that you drove a company truck that governs off at 60.5 miles per hour fuck off and buy somethin then you can talk about how fast it is. lonestars are so fuckin ugly they make volvo look sexy come on you call yourself a trucker no self respectin trucker would even drive that piece of shit. even if it was a company truck i trade it for a ford l9000

  • Oh please tell me you did not just insult the time tested and proven Louisville L9000. I'd like to see ANY big truck made today outlast an old Louisville and I'm not talking about the Freightliner Sterling bullshit that's made today. I mean the real Louisville's. In the four years I've been a professional driver I can count only TWICE I've seen an L9000 off to the shoulder; they almost always limp home. I can't even keep truck of the number of Petes/Volvos/KW's I've seen broken down.

  • miss the ol fords, dumbest thing ford ever did was to leave the class 8 market.

  • Your totally right, =-\ I just sold my L9000 it was sitting around collecting dust; seeing as now is not the time to go owner-operator. Its a shame Freightliner closed Sterling because sterling was selling better than Freightliner. Eh All great things must come to an end I suppose.

  • ford left because they weren't selling as good as freight, inter and so on,and the same reason as why freightliner has cacelled the sterling line!!!

  • thats because there aren't that many furds on the road to breakdown.

  • i got 118mph outta my old w900 so ya hes full of shit. both trucks are pussy pieces of shit. international is for shit shovellin farmers hence the term corn binder they are shit put em back in the barn where they belong ,next to the other big pile of shit

  • Hey, I Iive on a farm. dont talk about us "Shit Shovellin farmers" that way. Without us you would be sittin down to a good meal of cardboard and freeze-dried food. Also,, my uncle has a 4700 dt466E that he uses with his construction job so dont be sayin all a international can do is move shit around. Also, farmers are demanding on there trucks. We put them through there passes. They work hard along side us.

  • international blows. both trucks are ugly as shit. the cascadia barely has a jake on what a pussy soundin thing it is. you barely hear it. my w900 you hit the jake your fuckin windows better be up

  • Detroit Diesel, did the test! Found that international used a shorter trailer than they used on the Cascadia. International also have a smaller less powerful engine! They won't tell you that. Detroit have more heavy duty engines on the road still kickin ass than navistar international hands down. Series 60 was a fuel economy leader, and the new heavy duty DD13 DD15 and coming 16 liter will kick major ass.

  • BULLSHIT

  • ill spend the 5.7% or more to be proud of my truck! how many people look at those and say damn i gotta have one...not many most pepole want a peterbilt 351, 359, 379, 389 or kenworth W900 series not that crap cuz most people will tell you that looks like shit!

  • international have the best trucks on the road. i drove a prostar for my last company and it was fucking nice. it looked way better than any peterbilt or kenworth on the road. but the lonestar, fahgetaboutit! that is the truck. id drive that before i would a kenworthless or a petershit

  • WHAT?! You think that looks better than a 351 or 359 pete or a needle nose kw or W900A?! Messed up those trucks are ugly! i would not buy one! Over $100,000 on something that looks like crap! id rather a 9900 eagle or 9300 flat top cuz i love hoods

  • its people like you that "THINK" they are the shit when they have a long hood on their truck. and your probably the kind of person that whines and cries when diesel jumps up and down. i guarantee my truck would outrun any long hood piece of shit on the market. while your stopping every 10 miles to fill up ill be long gone. kw and peterbilt suck international rules

  • international is a cheep plastic peace of shit mack has a better calls in cab desin then enny of the trucks on the market i have drove a valvoe mack and a peterbelt and a kenworth best truck out there for a driver is a valvoe the best truck out there for power and relyabilty and is bulit stong is a kenworth w900 with a twinturbo cat you can run thoes thnigs right to the ground but ur fucknig internatinal cant even go without 1 leter of oil and u go over a bunp and u got fucking shit flying all

  • hell yea i agree my dad ran a 2001 kenworth W900L hard and we only had a hose blow on it due it getting hot and it was really cold out so it blew on us but other than that cat is the best thing. and we ran that thing 104mph on flat ground fully loaded with beef outa monforted we were part of the "chicken haulers" we had a nice rig but she was a machine good ol steel horse :) we got her up to 110 down hill one time

  • wanna fucking bet? i know a guy jack brack he has a demo motor from cat and he can run the sumbitch 126mph no shit buddy its a blue kenworth W900L long hood really nice cuz i know its had to see those when there smokin your ass out in the left lane so just makin sure you know what they look like and i garentee i could beat you full loaded (80,000) going up vail or ehsenhower on I-70. you probably dont have balls big enough for it

  • i had one of those in my school shop for show and the truck looks sweet without the top wind deflector

  • not only 5.7% fuel efficient but 5.7% expensive~

  • publicidad barata

  • theyre both ugly ass trucks though..and internationals give way to many problems

  • That Cascadia probably had a series 60 in it, try it again with a DD15.

  • is difficult choose

but i know the international prostar y more bueautiful than the lonestar

  • me gustan las dos pero me inclino un poco mas por la international prostar...de una u otra forma las dos son hermosas

  • Wow only 3900 a year, its not worth it. Just get your self a real truck.

  • i like this truck. is the lonestar more fuel economical than prostar?

cascadia does have rack and pinion steering and in mountain twisty road that makes difference.

  • The International LoneStar is supposed to be very economical on fuel due to the front end, but I have yet to hear/see any results.

  • @OmerTheGreatOne Prostar has better steering. Cascadia has standard rack and pinion but prostar's have a different more unique set up.

  • cascadia sucks it looks like shit w/o the sun visor

  • Yeah I think the cascadia looks stupid without the sun visor too. It just doesn't look right. I have found a source for after market cascadia visors though with a picture of one mounted on a cascadia and it looked a LOT better.

  • yeah i saw one one the road with an aftermarket on it was chrome and had the same light as well looked waaaaayyy better and gave the truck alot more style

  • Try riding a motorcycle with a baseball cap on and the visor facing forward...You'll see how aerodynamic sun visors are. Trucks are supposed to make money (ie. fuel economy), not look good to please a bunch of squirelly drivers!

  • this just shows you why so many drivers fail when they go owner-operator. I personally like the lonestar's retro look, & the better fuel economy makes it even more attractive.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know about that one...the 450HP Mercedes engine in the Columbia I run is great, it consumes no oil, it has excellent acceleration, peak torque is available at 1100RPM, I haul doubles, and I pass everybody on all the hills even the Volvo's and the Pete's with the big old Detroit's (even though Daimler-Benz owns Detroit and Mercedes)
