These guys were good and very funny. Nothing wrong with their singing in Okuyo language. They were proud to be Okuyos and each person should be proud to be whatever they are, However we should work together as Kenyans. There is beauty in having a language of your own. Travel overseas utawaona weusi wanaojuta kwa vile walipoteza lugha zao. Kudos kundi hili. By the way does the geoup still exist? They used to act karibu Nairobi Cinema wakijiita eti Malaika Weusi.
R.I.P Nyengese. These jamaaz were off the chain. I remember running into their performances in tao as a kid and would be very well entertained. The best street comedians I ever saw. Crazy and way hilarious. Thanks for posting.
I remember seeing them perform at the ASK show in the early 90's as a kid and my mom gave me 10 bob to give them when they came around and one of them said that when i got to class 2 i should go work for them because i'd have learnt all i needed. Feels like a lifetime ago
well this guy was great i remember when nkipinga lami they were to good . if the group could be alive it could be great . the pioners of outdoor comedy on streets
Omg. Funny how time flies. 1992 bana, 17 years ago and it looks like it's just the other day! I remember watching Nyengese do his act in tao quite a few times. Very funny guy.
hii place inakaa kama near reinsurance plaza near uchumi house!wawawa!si ni funny??ati mnaangalia nanai?alafu ati mshawahi kuona wenda wazimu wanatembea watatu?yenyewe ni ukweli hakuna!hahahaaaa!
nakumbuka hawa wasee when i was jobless corner in 1996...ooh man, these guys were soo good!!!! hellen was the best ati manugu weusi1 they were too funny.
Maze this video has taken me back to those hilarious lunchtimes. The black guy's name is Nyengese. He died without the recognition due of such a great comedian. Wakenya lazima tuwaheshimu wlio na vipawa vya kipekee kama hawa vijana. Thanks for posting this video.
Hawa ni black angels dynamic comedians, walitangulia redykulass, and they were much better. as mtu ya eastleigh I prefer them than redyluluss and KTN true story, kudos whoever posted, thanks
thanks 4 the memories!!! I was laughing my ass off seeing this now. In 1992 I was in high school in Nairobi (Jamu)and I remember distinctly checking out these guys and also another guy with dreadlocks (I forget his name) outside Uchumi.
Walikuwa wakijiita Black Angels ama Malaika Weusi. Hawa ndio waliotangulia Redykuluss na Redkorna. Walikuwa waasisi wa uchekeshaji Nairobi. Nakumbuka saa za adhuhuri tulikuwa tukienda Nairobi Cinema kula "airburger" na kuwasikiliza hawa jamaa.
It is sad the guy you see @00.40secs died through a road accident in Nairobi. He was famously known as Nyengese. His young brother took over and he was doing pretty well before disappearing from the seen due to Mungiki menace.
It's been a while but it is as funny as ever - if you ever worked or may tarmarcked in the city. These guys were always a comic relieve. The main guy died long back though - you missed your lunch if you dared stand around them during lunchbreak.
oh my this is so old school the black angels dynamite comedians...never seen it on video thanks for posting no matter how long ive been away from home i still remember
Its just okay. I guess when u stay away from Kenya for a while, some of those jokes r not funny anmore. Not because ati u have endelead, but because really you almost dont get the jokes anymore.
Asante. I understand why you feel that way after being exposed to SNL, Seinfeld and many others for many years. By putting some of our artists on You Tube or any other stage can have a positive impact.
1992 Kenya was Hot!! Yes, a lot was going on and some might remember: Multiparty, FORD, FORD ASILI, Ondinga, Matiba, Gitobu Imanyara, Paul Muite and IPK. Keep on watching and you might see yourself or someone you know at Jevanjee Gardens or in an IPK demonstration in Mombasa.
