I have studied both karate and southern shoalin kung fu, and some of what he was doing in the video looks very similar to the southern shoalin system, the stances he was in and the to the way he was throwing his jabs. Granted the knockout strike was very wild but it was aimed at the right place and did the job.

The stance he uses is more defensive than offensive so naturally it would change slightly in close range; I wouldn't attempt to compare him with a highly skilled Kung Fu practitioner such as Master Ehsan Shafiq.

@OkamsRazer It's unfortunate how watered down styles like Wing Chun have become. It's almost impossible to find a good karate dojo or Chinese Martial Arts school anywhere stateside. Everything has devolved into kata and point sparring now. The only legitimate TMA school I know of is a place near where I live that teaches Tai Chi Quan, and the Sifu makes everyone where head gear and groin protectors because they practice headbutts and knee strikes to the groin in live sparring.

It literally was named after one of the possible legendary first practioners of the Art but no one can say for certain except that if true SHE (yes a woman in ancient china) managed to master a very effective combat art.

I've sparred with some Kung Fu practitioners and it was impressive. They have a fluidity of movement which in itself can defeat about 90% of average people. You really can't land a solid strike on them, they have an intuition and responsiveness that is uncanny. Unless you have some serious ju jitsu skills or you're just a huge Russian sambo fighter, you'll likely have trouble fighting a genuine Kung Fu expert. The guy in the video may not have been an expert, but he squarely owned that punk.
