@FragIreland nah he says "i make it 400K" and the announcer also says he's gonna raise 300K more. Then he counts out those chips in several movements but thats ok since he announced the amount beforehand.

Furlong have a huge tell of strength after making his bet. He relaxed in such a huge manner while he seemed dis interested in the hand. Alan did not even look at him to get a tell and that was a very easy fold with 66 as you have to put him on at least tens or jacks, but realistically even trip queens or better.
Wow, poker was such a different world before the Poker boom. It was like a lifestyle of only few people, and they were considered to be very different because they played cards for a living. Now-a-days people play poker like its nothing and really take for granted the people that made poker what it is today. We have online poker which is ridiculously filled with people and kids as young as 12, and millionaires made everyday. We really have to take a second and give our thanks to these people.
@captainirrelevant I believe this was a video from the casino, not anything from a major network, which explains the poor quality and commentary. The discovery channel was the only network to have any coverage of this event, as ESPN was covering the United States Poker Championship
@ddrmaniacaaaa I'd like to find that discovery channel coverage as I read the book positively 5th street that documented alot of it and ted binion's murder
Alan Goehring is a great player with 2 WPT titles, including the Season 1 25k World Championship, defeating Ted Forrest, Phil Ivey and Doyle Brunson in the final table.

Alan was very gracious in defeat. He was the essence of sportsmanship.

Unbelievable huh? It looks like the seventies. I think the reason is the poker world was so much smaller, a niche culture really.

Men nguyen is a rude arrogant cheat who has no respect from any other players within the poker community. So quit talking out your asshole.
