  • The all time funk master of the BONE !!

  • my idol lol

  • @tastycajun0381 It's hard to appreciate the "talent" of a pop musician when compared to a professional jazz musician. Especially Fred Wesley.

  • oh thats tasty shit....

  • very good!!!

  • The only thing he did wrong was play his his best lick during the first break and every break after that didn't seem as impressive. But I am definitely going to use that one.

  • Breathtaking eloquence and command of the English language

  • Damn...... that was style

  • Yeah!!

  • is this just improvization ......

  • @labeatet Yeah that's generally how Jazz works...

  • @labeatet No he plays this everyday.

  • Tis' FUNK

  • groove?

  • 500% groove!!

  • He could have my babies...

  • Friendly Fred strikes again. DAMN! Hottest solo I've ever heard.

  • if thats true, you have to look up Ron Wilkins.

I admit, this guy is a really, really good trombone player, but Ron is just amazing.

  • You are jokin right? Fred is the man He set the standard on the Bone being in the forefront. Not sayin Ron is not good but don't ever put Fred down like he is a regular player. James Brown bands are just down right wild and grueling with dance steps not just standing there playin.

  • your talking about THE Fred Wesley. Besides comparisons like that are dumb Its all about personal preference.

  • whats this song called!

  • The song is called hullabaloo.I remeber when i played this song in 8th grade,i was Lead trombone,I was really, really good at this song.I believe this song is a grade 6 or 5.But trust me,this song has its own difficulty its just so much fun to play.

  • Fun !

  • a poor drumer. a great trombone.

  • Fred Wesley & The New JBs in NYC Sat. April 11th.

its an 18+ venue so bring your kids. haha.

    Sullivan Hall!

  • He came to my school too last month. It was so sick. He invited my friend to trade 4s with him...and he killed it. It was awesome

  • Good Lord!

    this is freakin incredible!!!!

    just groovin...

  • This guy is amazing.

    5 star Solo.

  • would this song happen to be hullabaloo?

  • Is it seriously legal to be THAT good?!?!?!

  • Man he can blow.

  • Go 'head, Fred! OWW!

  • I play trombone and that guy is amazing, he can go from low to high so fast its amazing

  • Check him out with James Brown, Parliament, Funkadelic, or Fred Wesley & the Horny Horns!

  • This guy is amazing!

  • Can any one say soul?

  • i love fred wesley. whoever is in that high school band is extremely lucky

  • Lol its Hanks High in El Paso, Tx. Hes not in our band he was a guest artist for a Jazz Fest we host every year.

  • This man is unbelievable and one of my jazz heroes. I one day hope to achieve something around his standard. ^_^ but yes, his solos are the best, better than mine are of course. Woot for Fred!

  • ahhh real soul,, better than a degree from Julliard any day.. lol

  • That's not the pentatonic scale. He's not playing some chinese song up there. That's straight up blues scale.

  • penatonic scales are often used in blues

if you play a penatonic off the third or seventh of any minor scale it sounds great

  • Dude ill never be that good at trombone! THAT GUYS AMAZING!

  • This is an example of TOTAL domination of the Pentatonic scale

  • man I wish he'd come to my school, I would love to see that.

  • im speechless thats is really good hes like the best man awsomenesss!!!!

  • he makes it look easy. man he's awesome

  • o an this guy is awesome. i've been playing for 3 years. man i've seen pretty amazing things but this is not the best

  • The legend himself !! long live fred !!!

  • Yeah, what IS the song he's playing to? Man, this guy could play to any jazz and blow the world apart with his trombone...aka, he's really good. The best I've seen.

  • I've seen him live, and met him, and the man is a musical genius!

  • this guy is amazing. wow. i hope to be this good one day.

  • That song is called "The Chicken" I played that last year in band. I also play Trombone.

  • What a badass. That's some insanely hip trombone playing right there.

  • what is the song he is jamming to?

  • Don't know the tune, but he's just playing over the changes of a C blues.

  • god. has arrived.

    ahhhh! <3

  • HAHA

at 2:09 you can totally see me clapping backstage.
