The animals' noise quiets down and they all turn to look at him like WTF? then when he's done, he gives a little bow, murmurs "thank you" and then leaves, never to be seen again. The animals all look at each other "that was one hell of a thing" then just keep grooving.

This is from the part of the post-Syd Floyd career that they would like to forget. This album had one live disc (which was good) and a self-indulgent studio set, of which only Grantchester Meadows was a worhwhile effort. At least Several Species .... shows that Roger Waters had a sense of humour. The follow-up was Atom Heart Mother, which both Gilmour and Waters hate.

Who cares if Waters and Gilmour hate this album? Rush didn't like "A Farewell to Kings", but that album was fantastic, as is Umaagumma (in my opinion, of course). It's not up to the artists themselves to decide what the fans like.
