This song is not based on the Andrew Lloyd verion of The Phantom of the Opera. This Album of Iced Earth is based on all the original horrow figures. The old Wolfman, Im-ho-Tep and all of those so does the Phantom. The Phantom is never called Erik in any of Andrew's versions. He's called Erik in the 1925 version.

Yep Jon did his homework cuz the stories are really close to the originals. :)

I hate it when people hear a heavy metal song and actually notice the drumming. Seems like such a waste, considering what all the melodic musicians are doing.

That being said, this is one of my favorite Iced Earth songs, the best Phantom related song ever, and a beautiful video. Very well done!

It's called over-dramatic effect. He also gets extra deformations on the lower half of his face, which weren't there before. Erik is still awesome. He should've won Christine. A good video, too.

In the movie, yes, but in the original novel, she leaves him because she sincerely does become frightened by him and does love Raoul, but she loves the Phantom as well. However, when she kisses him, he lets her go, because he does not want to trap her with him in his hell. Erik still loved her more than Raoul, though, so I think she should've stayed with him... But that's just me.
