Exactly, I work in a professional environment in the deep south. So I've never worked with any gay guys. Most of them here are on SSI by age 30 for HIV. I found the last part of this young man's rant to be the most disturbing. He basically insinuates that when gay people are harassed, that it is their own fault. All I can think about are the young teens in school who are gay and being picked on and bullied to the point of suicide, and of no fault of their own; kids who are just minding their own business, not bothering anybody. I have absolutely NO desire to march down a street based on sexual orientation. That is a peripheral issue. Part of the reason so many men do not describe themselves as gay, is because of (and fear of being compared to) the freaks and riffraff who march in these parades. Someone's twelve year old doesn't need to see two guys in bottomless leather chaps molesting each other in the middle of the street. It's an embarrassment to the rest of us. In 1996 Clinton protected Federal Employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation--so you're only protected if you have a Govt job if you live in Texas & about 25 other states. How about fair housing--only if cities have ordinances. You have less rights than you think & they can be taken away anytime.
