not very wise of kenya to expect anything from obama only becouse his half kenya from his father side when he was raised in usa, he´s the president of american not kenya.
No the thing is that Obash just happened to up his presidential chances by visiting kenya. Now he is just playing the american game. A typical kenyan!
Obama visited Kenya twice even before going to law school. His third visit was long before he announced his presidential candidacy. And please, he is not Kenyan! In fact Kenyan law does not allow dual citizenship!
It is not about what you or anyone thinks. It is your Kenyan government that does not recognize him as being Kenyan. The last time he was in Kenya the government ridiculed him as being "just a junior senator from Illinois" and therefore "he should not come to Kenya to lecture people on corruption and impunity!"
Besides, no single Kenyan voted for Obama. But there are those who tried to derail his chances by feeding Jerome Corsi and the republican party propaganda machine with utmost lies!!
Rita my dear supuu,it's called PR not snubbing. You see, these beings reffered to as yankees think the world is cow hide shaped aka USA. They also refer to Agwash as a communist. Now,the last thing obash needs right now is narrowminded dudes reffering to his health care bill as a socialist cum agwambo thingy...now ulipata my number @ reception.....
What business does Kenya offer? The name of the gave is natural raw resources which Ghana and Tanzania has in abundance. All Kenya can offer is a begging bowl.
Let me summarize it thus:IF UGANDA OR TANZANIA WERE BODERING ETHIOPIA AND SOMALIA,THEY WOULD HAVE LONG BEEN OVERRUN.THE NEAREST US EMBASSY WOULD BE IN ZAMBIA
So it fair to assume ,eti wherever you live ,hauna mabeste wasap...na wale ume meet wakakushow chuki kweli...is your username s.i.c for FITINA ama?....of late i've come across a Kenya Moja chant/ Aim....have you?
Why hate on Raila or Kibaki are we uniting Kenya or are still stuck in the medieval times? We need a new Kenya where tribe wont matter why would you put a sticker saying najivunia kuwa mkenya and you are still stuck on the tribe issue maybe you should have a sticker saying mimi ni mkabila. Come on grow up and lets build a one Kenya
raila will neer become president, never!! he should join modelling instead and represent mr. kisumu with his outdated fashion clothes. it is true the ambassador is very corrupt. that is a snake just like raila.
Ah! si kuna lunch Kenya... saa zingine. Wacha wasee wabaki home wafanye kazi! Either way the only people who should consider him family are the ones that he does the same for. So kama haukuitwa kwa family dinner, na nyinyi si mandugu, rudi ushugulike bibi yako. Yeye akona wake!
the U.S. politics is as bad as Kenya's why would they snub our PM for a Govt he is not even controlling they better get along with Raila or just leave us the heck alone he has been trying to save Kenya maybe Kenya should look to Europe or Asia
This is a slap on the face the way i know how my Kenyan friends used to brag here in UK! Oh my God, get ur acts together cause you will be snubbed again when he comes for World Cup next year and end up visiting Arusha and not Nairobi!
The USA has a bunch of hard line cracked-pots from every camp against Pres.Obama Trying to scream about any thing but the facts, times have changed in America, " Who Let The Dogs Out?? "
I have no knowlege of these back and forths ,
But the last few words may have said it all for every-one.
There is no need of President Obama cancelling the meeting with PM Odinga. In fact this is not the Obama we know: He promised to talk even to his political adversaries. The principles of Realpolitik should compel President Obama and Prime Minster Odinga to meet and discuss face to face the problems that face Kenya. Otherwise our patience with President Obama is running out, just as much as our patience with the Kenyan politicians is running out!!!
Wrong!!!!Raila relationship with Obama has been very mis-characterized by the right wing here in the US- really bad--I'm not surprised--just google raila + obama But Corruption in Kenya is very deep rooted--Each time I listen to the US ambasador to kenya it's frustration--and more frustration--I'm proud to be kenyan but not the kenyan govt..this will take a long time to change--but we are headed there--maybe one day
To close the Chapter: there was a happy end. They met after all. This is the way it should be. As a human being I cannot refuse to meet my kinsmen, for the simple reason that my neighbours will think I am different. That is the highest degree of deceit.
There is no need to blame our leaders because of US attitude towards Kenya. We know they are corrupt, but we should not place US relations with Kenya so high. In any case, it is only a dangerous thing to associate with Washington. US is not the only friend we can have. Lets stop thinking of it as a god. We can seek other friends rather whose friendship has no such US baseless demands. Corruption will be fought by Kenyans alone, not anybody else.
The problem lies in the fact that some Kenyan leaders expected US dollars to rain in Kenya due to the Obama election! What we fail to understand also is that Obama is not an imperial president who's worrd is the law as it is ni Kenya. And to complicate matters, Raila was one big liability for Obama during his US presidential campaign and Agwambo still continues to be and will always be a big liability for Obama.
I wish my PM would just cool down flying to USA for sometimes. It's embarrassing to get snubbed not twice not thrice by the Big Foot in WH.
Why in the world would they pull his name off that list...who asked State Dept. for this lunch? Humiliating a country then it's leader is no way to improve a bad situation!
He deserved it. His party wing led by one warlord who is his deputy killed people in the name of stolen election in 2007 -2008. There will never be any justification for what they did. The story would have been different today if Raila Odinga would have distanced himself from one william Ruto. Hence this! Kenya moja!
Raila Odinga is a hot potato for Obama in US politics. It is wise for Obama to keep a distance from him for three good reasons:
1) the attempt to paint Obama as a socialist
2) Raila naming his son "Fidel Castro"
3) during the height of the post election violence Raila claimed that Obama was his cousin on BBC interview. Now, I doubt whether they are related at all and if they are then the timing of his claim couldn't have come at a worse time. Obama did not claim leadership as his birthright.
Dont be stupid!! as if you dont know who caused the genocide..we are always proud of ourselves with or without Obama..Raila has never been implicated in corruption even though we know we are not the best when it comes to corruption..
We know Raila is not involved with corruption..molasses plant is just imaginary or wild accusation. We also know Raila was not involved with election fraud...5 constituencies in Nyanza with over 90% turn out was fiction. Not everybody drinks from Raila's fountain of lies
mpaka tu peleke walio huzika na uizi wakura na wale wa anglo group and ocampos envelop ok, if this ok so obama can talk with this leaders good kijana wa alego
I dont think Obama wants to be associated with a corrupt leader and a blood thirsty genocide architect. PM position was solely created to please Raila's massive ego. Obama should stay away from this man at all costs
kenyansoul, how do you explain kibaki being sworn as president in the dark. Raila represented the will of 3.4 million Kenyans who wanted change not his ego!!! Kenyans were angry at ECK but became more angry when kibakii was sworn in the dark which justified to people that he stole elections.
Despite being sworn in the dark and ur anger, the guy has been president two years now...give it up, 2012 swearing coming up soon u better keep the lights on!
