It is not about what you or anyone thinks. It is your Kenyan government that does not recognize him as being Kenyan. The last time he was in Kenya the government ridiculed him as being "just a junior senator from Illinois" and therefore "he should not come to Kenya to lecture people on corruption and impunity!"

There is no need of President Obama cancelling the meeting with PM Odinga. In fact this is not the Obama we know: He promised to talk even to his political adversaries. The principles of Realpolitik should compel President Obama and Prime Minster Odinga to meet and discuss face to face the problems that face Kenya. Otherwise our patience with President Obama is running out, just as much as our patience with the Kenyan politicians is running out!!!

There is no need to blame our leaders because of US attitude towards Kenya. We know they are corrupt, but we should not place US relations with Kenya so high. In any case, it is only a dangerous thing to associate with Washington. US is not the only friend we can have. Lets stop thinking of it as a god. The problem lies in the fact that some Kenyan leaders expected US dollars to rain in Kenya due to the Obama election! What we fail to understand also is that Obama is not an imperial president who's worrd is the law as it is ni Kenya. And to complicate matters, Raila was one big liability for Obama during his US presidential campaign and Agwambo still continues to be and will always be a big liability for Obama.

Raila Odinga is a hot potato for Obama in US politics. It is wise for Obama to keep a distance from him for three good reasons:

1) the attempt to paint Obama as a socialist

2) Raila naming his son "Fidel Castro"

3) during the height of the post election violence Raila claimed that Obama was his cousin on BBC interview. Now, I doubt whether they are related at all and if they are then the timing of his claim couldn't have come at a worse time. Obama did not claim leadership as his birthright.

kenyansoul, how do you explain kibaki being sworn as president in the dark. Raila represented the will of 3.4 million Kenyans who wanted change not his ego!!! Kenyans were angry at ECK but became more angry when kibakii was sworn in the dark which justified to people that he stole elections.
