  • @troysh90 i'm a certified bs finder. i don't see anything hard about working on a ford...

  • its called gravel

  • u ppl who keep saying that grand cherokees have awd are wrong! they have all time 4wd. there is a difference. get it right!

  • if he didnt put it in 4lo he would have burned out his tranny trying to pull the jeep

  • Yeah this would end differently if the match up was fair, put the jeep with a F-150 and the Jeep wouldnt have a chance

  • lol, atleast ford man was a good sport about it

oh and suvs seem to always beat pick ups

there are plenty of videos with mid size suvs either tie-ing or beating bigger full size trucks

  • lol, atleast ford man was a good sport about it

  • i love how the 4.0 just keeps going down the road like its pulling its own weight! classic

  • Jeep is just better

  • first off you can't talk shit on the ford you hooked it to a truck with more weight and a bigger engine and its older than the jeep.second of all the jeep has All Wheel Drive and the Ranger has Four Wheel Drive major difference cause the jeep thinks and puts power to the wheels with traction and the ranger has two differentials witch spins witch ever wheel spins easiest

  • @mfowler15 The jeep isnt "All Wheel Drive" The jeep is full time 4wd. There is a difference. And the jeep works in the same way as the ranger. It will spin whichever tire is easier. it is an open diff just like ranger. The only difference is the jeep having quadratrac...but you prlly have no clue what that is so i'll explain..The jeep is in 2wd untill the front tires arent rotatating at the same speed as the rear tires. It isnt always putting power to all 4 tires.

  • @712buzz First off I've live around vehicles all my life I know how the Jeep works and that quadratrac shit is there to think about what wheel has the most grip and apply it and the jeep stil has an advantage cause it has more wieght to give it more traction anyway now you tie the ranger to a Jeep comanchee and it will pull it no problem

  • The two Rangers I've owned have NEVER left me stranded somewhere. A 1989 Buick LeSabre has (camshaft position sensor and blown CV joint, so that's two times), a 2006 GMC Sierra has (tranny), a 1995 Ford Aerostar has (tranny), and that's all I can recall at the moment. So that's three GM products and one Ford. I've owned eleven cars in a whole five years. I am undoubtedly hard on my cars and trucks and only one Ford has ever let me down. The rest were GM or foreign made.

  • its called not comparable jeep is twice as expensive

  • that ford is a real drag. hahahah!!!!

  • this was not even a good pull, its a 5spd ranger vs a auto jeep, the ranger had the clutch in when he was getting pulled.... id put either of my rangers vs a jeep any day

  • hahah i love all the hate cvomments against fords but the ranger has a smaller engine (well this model does) than the jepp so really stop hating it is kinnda sad and fors kicks chevy's but

  • a bone stock grand cherokee and a weak as ford ranger no one wins

  • i would keep pulling that ranger over the horizon

  • @nxmoparmatt84 ...or the wrecking yard LOL

  • @angusandleigh lmao

  • Just tow that ford to the wrecking yard.

  • Hahaha fords are horrible in general and manufactured crappy. their brakes suck and their gas pedals are hard as a clutch to press down. I had a jeep and traded it for a f 150. Lessoned learned never buy a ford again. Jeeps until the day i die!!!

  • @Caropanthers90 it's hard to press the gas for you cause you're a pussy and you traded for the ford not bought it you stupid ass motherfucking bitch ass nigga cunt sucking dick gargling bitch

  • @96StangGT91 hahaha people like you make me laugh. fords belong in junk yards. ford: fix or repair daily. thats why the paint on fords crack when it drops below 45 degrees and the gas pedals aren't smooth and have to be replaced constantly cause their manufacturing sucks. a jeep would out wheel a ford any day of the week. a dodge would out wheel a ford, so will a chevy. ill even go non american, a nissan titan would run over a ford anytime anywhere

  • @96StangGT91 Tell us how you really feel...

  • To any and all who say that Ford is better than GM or Chrysler have never worked on any of them. As a certified mechanic, I have had my share of experience and dread the sight of any Fords at our shop

  • @TroySh90 - Im the opposite. I dread GM and Chrysler's coming in... I've worked on all of them. The only thing Chrysler has going for them is there AWD Ram, GM fell behind Ford in reliability.

  • @TroySh90 finaly someone who understands why ford sucks. not because of performance, but because people doin stupid shitl ike this tears stuff up and its a bitch to fix on a ford

  • @TroySh90 Agreed, i'm not a mechanic, but i've worked on a ford before and it was hell... complete mess of wires, plus instead of keeping it simple and have a hub, bearing, rotor, etc. like a normal truck, they make this big messed up part that is all in one that costs more than a clutch for most vehicles.

  • @TroySh90 isnt that the god damn truth, fords are just a big wired up mess.

  • @TroySh90 If GM is so easy to work on, then why cant i get the Alternator out of my Saturn? my old 88F250 was easier to work on than that thing

  • Only a jeep.

  • Stupid ass vid, I own a wrangler but have to give the ranger some respect my dad has an old 85 and it goes everywhere my jeep

Does, except for when his longer wheel base and overhang handicap him on steep grades

  • I have no bias but am an American car lover and an MBA student: Ford stayed afloat because 1) they reacted more quickly to changes in the market and 2) they had more valuable brands in assets to sell off. They make better cars then GM or Chrystler anyway, sales, reviews, and ratings speak. read a magazine.

2.9 losing to a 4.0? is anyone suprised? get a 4.0 ranger fx4 in there boys!

  • rednecks....

  • i would my friend has a zj but he wont ever do a pull of hes a jeep girl

  • Those Rangers were decrepit pieces of garage when they were new. I was surprised that there were any left to make a vid with.

  • i fucking hate jeeps

  • my ranger would tear that zgay

  • @iwillfish4life

A RANGER!!!! LMAO Dude seriously, you just a ford fanboy. do some research There is no way a dinky ranger is going to beat a Jeep

  • @RCPOD my truck would yank that chrysler pos anyday

  • You clearly have no knowledge of cars or trucks watsoever. Its not a matter of me liking jeep at all, ITS ALL NUMBERS! a ranger has nothing compared to a Jeep. Seriously get your fanboy dreams out of your ass

  • @RCPOD i am saying my truck vs this jeep my truck would win, no competition

  • @iwillfish4life If you've modded it then I understand. But the Wrangler is so well built they face it off against larger trucks and it holds its ground or wins.

  • @RCPOD with zero mods, engine 4.0=207 HP, 238Ft Lbs of torque and 4.10 gears vs 190 HP and 3.73 gearing haha no way

  • @iwillfish4life go see for yourself

  • @iwillfish4life Good luck. My Rubicon with diff lockers would drag you for miles

  • @jeepownsrover am i talking about a rubicon, no

  • much respect to the ford but I knew the jeep would win. Jeeps are the best off roaders (in my opinion)

  • nice engine in that jeep, BUT i would still take the ranger any day over that jeep. how much do you want to bet that the jeep will get stuck before the ranger in the back woods?

  • Seriously? A ranger vs a ZJ offroad? That's not even a competition. ZJ = more power, more articulation, better entry/exit/breakover angles, better weight distribution. Seriously you need to go wheeling in some Jeeps, it might change your opinion on things.

  • i go wheeling in jeeps all the time. trust me, i go wheeling a LOT more than the average person. the reason i would rather the ranger is because it WILL last longer. meaning you can push it harder, and over time get the same as the jeep. plus, it's a truck and i can haul around my dirt bike and tow a trailer better. but hey, that's what my F-250's for. i've got more power than both of those things combined.

  • I see your point on having a bed to haul your bike, but my 5.2 zj with minor tuning can tow 7,000lbs at 75-90 mph all day! I can run mustang GT's up to a hundred!

  • @supersnot4 you'd get stuck first, hands down.

  • really depends on the trail, but the ranger will excel in most trails because it's lighter, and won't bog down. if there's something where you need weight you can just throw something in the bed.

  • Can't beat the torque of a 4.0 I6!!!

  • @4wheeler14

    No, a Ford straight-6 can.

  • @deviousconkerer Doubt that very much. The Jeep's redline is 4600 rpm. The torque develops at very low rpm's. Something like 2500

  • Good point.

  • No it can't. My friend had one, it just can't even he says it can't.

  • put a 5.2 on the jeep and a 4x4 on the ford and jeep will still pull that fuckin ford like a fag doll... :)

  • tha ford ranger had only rear wheel drive and the jeep had AWD to it's not a fear match.

  • at :38 the front tires on the ranger are spinning. Plus, the guy told the driver in the ranger to put it in 4 lo. Who else would he be talking to? The jeep's windows weren't open... of course it wasn't a fair match, but who cares.

  • i think i could pull an awd jeep with my 2wd f250 on the street...............maybe..

  • 4.0 inline six, great engine! Great vehical!

  • Jeeps are awesome, both my 92' cherokee and 07' wrangler have beat fords off road and racing on the street!!!

  • HELL YEAH FORD SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck you ya neon driving fagget lololololol

  • if he been in 4 wheel hed done better lil rangers are lil pullin basturds in 4 low

  • Hells Yeah! My 84 in 4 low pulled out a dodge 1 ton with a cummins out of a massive ditch. Same with a 1 ton chevy diesel and a snow plow on it.

  • i hooked up to my dads 01 gmc sierra with a 502 big block he was in 2 wheel drive i was in 4 low he could move me but when he put it in 4 hi he drug me up the hill and any where he wanted

  • your comparing a heavy ass fullsize with the 8.1L to a ranger with a little v6... of coarse its gonna win. There is no contest there,

  • haha i now he was gonna win it was more of drunken fun all i was inplyin is rangers can pull and it really wasnt a contest

  • Ahh... ok make sense. lol I have done that too with my friend and his cummins.

  • now why the hell is the ranger not in 4wd that just made no since to me. ranger vs a damn good machine and it wasnt in 4 low. i think the ranger would have taken the jeep if it was actually in 4wd

  • Yeah the Ford was in real wheel, wtf.... RIP OFF Lol

  • hearing the cam zoom is odd, and yeah... not im my ranger... isn't that bad for the tranny to be going backwards in drive let alone 4x4lo?

  • that shit wouldn't happen in my ranger

  • ya it would its just destroying the clutch.. v-6 vs v-8 the jeep has more torque and a higher towing capacity.. your ranger would loose!!

  • Dumbass, the jeep has an inline 6 engine, jeep didnt make a 4.0 V8 plus jeeps have more torque

  • no se pasen de verga !

    mejor le hubieran amarrado

un burro en vez de esa mamada

    de troca,,,,

  • maybe you should have the guy driving the ford take it out of neutral and actually trying next time

  • hua hua dumbasses 1:33

  • peice of shit

  • Not a fair competition at all, motor size is enough right there. Should have done 4l to 4l and 4x4 on both and would have been perfect, ranger would have for sure won.

  • cherokee would it has weight advantage. power didn't matter here

  • that's like hooking a corvette to a civic. not sure what this is trying to prove

  • Haha, Ford sucks, Jeep FTW =-)

  • Of course, a 4.0 verses a 2.9.

  • umm,you mean 2.3, the ranger only came in a 2.3l 4 cylnder, 3.0l V6 and a 4.0l V6 that was the same block as the tarus sho minus a few good parts. plus the jeep is a 4x4 while u can tell the ranger is the regular 2x4

  • nope the 2.9 was the standard v6 until 89ish

  • Lol, this is so unfair.

Jeep is heavy as hell and has a 4.0 6cyl. Ranger is light as hell and has a 2.9 6cyl.

  • oh by the way a ford straight six will fuck the junker jeep in the tail pipe

  • Actually, the jeeps is an I6. I have an I6 and I have both raced and pulled rangers with I6's, still won jackass.

  • true...that old AMC 242 is sick

  • first off fuck you lilcretin you probably dont know shit about cars you dumfuck its called a v6 and secondly jeeps suck cock as well as you

  • Yea, aparently you don't dumbshit. All cherokee's came with a 4.0 liter Inline 6, Grand cherokees either came with the 4.0 Inline 6 or a choice of 2 v8's. Wranglers came with either a 2.8 liter Inline 4 or the 4.0 liter Inline 6. The new liberty was the first newer model to come with a 3.7 liter v6, followed by the rest of the models post 2001. So when you feel like learning something, let me know, til then fuck off unless you do your research you moron.

  • That Grand Cherokee in the Video is either a 4.0 liter Inline 6, a 5.2 liter v8 or a 5.9 liter v8. THATS IT!!!! Unless they swapped the motor, thats all it could be. I have owned 3 Jeeps and have been working on them for over 7 years. I think I know what I am talking about.

  • The only time there have ever been v6's in Jeeps was the 225 cubic inch "Dauntless" 1966-1971 CJ which is an old Wrangler and the 1966-1971 Jeepster which is a Wrngler car type thing, the 173 cubic inch 2.8 liter GM 1984-1986 XJ which is the normal smaller Cherokee and the MJ which is the Comanche pick up. They discontinued that motor because it sucked. The last and only other v6 Jeep has EVER made is the 3.7 liter "Power Tech" in the 2002-later KJ which is the Liberty, the 2005-later WK.

  • The 2005-later WK which is the new Grand Cherokee, the 2006-later XK which is the Commander, and 2007-later Wrangler, Wrangler Unlimited, Rubicon, and Rubicon Unlimited. There are no more v6's in Jeeps history, thats it. When you need another lesson in Jeeps and how FUCKIN STUPID YOU ARE, let know, k bitch?

  • you fuckin moron you could have googled all that and this all makes you look far more stupid witch btw i thought impossible it almost looks like you copied and pasted this shit you are a dum fuck mainly off of the fact that you dont under stand the weight differential your lanky tank ass jeep is a heavy piece of shit wich is by far worse that you lack that and hands down i would fuck you up physically and mentally

  • Nope, sorry buddy, got it from the jeep 4x4 handbook. Oh yea, dumb fuck has a B at the end of dumb you dumb fuck. They really aren't heavy, they only come in at about 3800 or less for the cherokee and wrangler. I would love to see you try to hurt me, I'm a welder and I use an anvil and hammer all day, my forearm is probably about as big as your head, not to mention welders get shocked all the time and burned all the time so if I can take that, I think I can take your dumbass mexirap self.

  • Nice sound system by the way, did you jack that out of a stock civic?

  • Even if I did get that from google, I'm still right and you are still wrong, good job proving me right dildo. Any more complaints?

  • first off your a broke joke secondly you dont have a lyf worth shit if you wait on hear to reply to my messages the same day i sent them third your probably a dum shit talking bitch so stop trying to save chryslers crappy excuse for an offroading peice of borken down shit you are a sad excuse for a human being and i fail you in life and my sound system is worth more than your shitty jeep you fuckin homo

  • yea, 35 an hour isn't much and I only work 50 or more hours a week, I do only take home 1450 a week. Chrysler stopped making Jeeps in 2001, with the last Cherokee, the new cars are just shit, the Rubicon is the only chance Jeep has anyway. Damn, you must have a nice ass stereo system since I've put over 35,000 in parts into my Jeep. My jeep would fuckin rape you right up the ass, maybe its a homo, I never asked.

  • what do you drive exactly? Your vid looks like it has a back seat, maybe a van? since you don't like chrysler or mopar, I'm guessin chevy, like a chevy van... maybe even a ford windstar, those are pretty sexy huh? Or an exploder, those are nice.... Oh oh, maybe a civic, like a crx, with a vtech, yea, nothin like a vtech, nothin like runnin some 14's when its maxed out with power. So, enlighten me bro, what do you have thats better than my 11 second lifted Jeep, or the jeep in the vid, or mopar?

  • my older brother had this jeep and i bought it off him about a 1 and a half ago so lilcretin666 is right and the fords 300 straight 6 is a decent motor but is no match for jeeps 242 4.0 motor and i know personally with this jeep ive hooked to other jeeps and a lifted 86 f-150 with ford straight 6

  • @hellraiser32492 first off thats an old ass comment to be responding to... BTW i just pulled my neighbors jeep liberty out of the bushes in 4 lo with my I4 banger ranger, then raced him with my ranger sohc LOL! let him go first and still won. All in all Ford is the only company still on its own two feet and all the dodge and chevy fanboys out there should respect that it still out sells them year after year bottom line ford FTW ford GT> viper, corvette. the new 5.0 will show fanboys lol

  • @ikaikaboy88

Wow, you sound like a fanboy yourself. Think about how much branches GM owns compared to Ford, they have much more financial responsibility. Also Ford gets so much money from the government for military and huge companies for super duty trucks and police cars. As for Chrysler, I love Chrysler, and the Wrangler should be respected. Best off road vehicle alive.

  • @RCPOD first off mind your own fucking buisness secondly ford gets government money for actual work not handouts. GM if you didn't know also gets paid by the government for hummer's(well before they sold it) so who you calling a fanboy?

  • Comment removed

  • @ikaikaboy88

Mind my own business? you are posting your fanboy thoughts on a youtube comment section. Also sure I have a Suburban but I dont think Chevy is the best because of it, Im for JEEPS. But I love my Suburban more than almost any other car, but you know what? at least Im not jacking off to it like you are to your F150. "ZOMG I OWNz A FORDS TRUX IZ PWNAGE!!!!!" Seriously from what Im hearing in your comments is you are only looking at the name of the car and using that to figure is its

  • Comment removed

  • @RCPOD seriously from what im hearing from all your comments is you are imagining me jacking off(????) sorry buddy im not interested in your fetish and i dont really care about what you do and don't like its my own FUCKING opinion so in that sense mind your own business

  • @ikaikaboy88 Fine, I'll mind my own business. Your right its your opinion.

  • fuckin idiots nowadays hi on mopar dont understand that toys and rangers are lighter than durangos for the solo purpose of being on mountains watching his bigheaded ass getting stuck in mud, and then they play rock paper scissors to decide who goes and pulls his dumass out gimme a 4.0 ranger and a camper than we'll see whos got more torque

  • Yea, thats why Moab Easter Safari has about 8,000 jeeps and 11 toyotas and 4 or 5 rangers, but you are probably right, aparently, they rock...

  • This is one of the most useless truck pull videos ever. Really. Weight has tons to do with traction in this case because you're on a fucking gravel lot. Almost every one of these truck pulls comes down to traction, and usually the loser doesn't have it. Power has little to do with it. Fucktards.

  • my dad had 1 and it was a i6 and it was fast but only had 24k on it

  • whats with every one saying so much about the jeeps i6? i have one and it sucks alot. it has just over 200k miles on it and it runs like a champ, but its slow as hell and doesnt seem to have very much power. what am i missing?

  • you need a tune up, a stock 4.0 should run about a 15 1/4 mile no problem. stroke it to a 4.6 and you will hit 14

  • i agree the ranger doesnt have the grunt or the weight to pull a jeep like that

  • Probably not the best thing to do with a unibody...

  • thats unfair to have a 2.9 and a 4.0 in tug a war

  • huge weight difference

  • how the hell is that fair, the ranger is a 2.9 v6 and that jeep is heavy as shit and probably has a 5.2 v8

  • If you'd read first you'd notice the part where it says he has a 4.0L which is a Inline 6.

Then again even the old Ford i6's couldn't compare to this engine.

Even I'll admit there IS a big weight difference between the two.

  • Props on the Ranger for tryin...

  • more weight = more traction simple as that

  • simple fact....the ford ranger weighs about 1/2 of the cheroke....sorry dude but that cheroke would pull it away even with a smaller moto just because its able to get more traction to the ground....

  • my truck could beat that

  • covet ill tie up with u with my 72 ranger 3 speed

  • put my v8 jeep against any of ur shit n i would win

  • un poco torpe el conductor.

  • i always get grass and stone confused too

  • thats some funny shit there and its in a trailer park to

  • stones?

  • hey dipshit who said rangers are heavier thats my truck u dumb ass it ways 2550 lbs my cousins jeep ways 6500 plus everything he has in it so before u say rangers are heavier next time read this damn comment turd cake

  • My 5.9 V-8 grand cherokee weighed in at 4265 with me in it at the race track I was 165lbs. That one weighs about 3900-4000lbs. THe ranger is probably the same. Different weight distribution.

  • My ranger weighs in at around 3200-3500 pounds. They are light trucks.

  • Well no shit the idiot tried it in 4hi first. And it was a 4.0 vs a 2.9 Ill drag his damn Jeep sideways with my ranger. Its got a proper 4.0 V6

  • Jeep would still probably pull it because it's got more torque than a ford ranger does and more horsepower cus its an Inline6 instead of a v6

  • yea but one of the best inline six engines is the ford 4.9l inline six that they put in the f-150s and f-100s

  • Put a 4.0 Heep against a 4.0 Ranger...

  • Yay.. Redneck games!

  • Wow you are bad...4wd vehicles do not take off better, that is why WRXs/Evos use AWD. AWD will perform better on gravel and sand as it senses which tires have traction and keep them from digging holes. IFS work way better in most cases on the streets than a solid axle like a Jeep thats truck companies converted a long time ago to IFS for the most part from Solid axles. How is more traction there with 4WD most are open diffs and therefore only two wheel drive 1 front 1 rear...you are ignorant.

  • I was referring to AWD (vs) 2wd.

  • Ha ha. Wow, you calling ME ignorant. HE HE. wow. But anyway, vehicles with a solid rear axle will go faster off the line than vehicles with fully independent suspension.

  • Calm down, I know what I'm talking about. Take my word for it. :)

  • In my first post, to which you called me ignorant, I was referring to how a 4wd alltime Jeep would beat a 2wd ranger off the line (i had thought this ranger was 2wd). Even if they were both 2wd, a ZJ with the 5.9 is a beast.

On another note, IFS is best for handling purposes and for conservation of funds. Solid axles are expensive for manufacturers. Thats why many of the new jeeps use IFS. IFS also offers more stability (less chance of rollover) but at the expense of articulation.

  • edit* solid axles are cheaper to produce than independent suspension.

  • Ill drag both of you at the same time. The Ranger is not much lighter than a ZJ, ZJs are unibodys and actually quite light. Automobile91 you are backwards, the Rangers make great prerunners and ZJs are much better crawlers.

  • I am not backwards buddy. A 5.9L ZJ with quadra trac will simply obliderate a Ranger in every performance category. It was the fastest SUV on the market in 1998.

  • No I was talking strictly about weight Rangers are much heavier than the Jeeps 16 gauge unibodies. Its not about speed in off roading even prerunners the most important piece is their suspensions and LT IFS work better than a solid such as a Jeep. Then a solid axle works better for crawling. You bring me a 5.9ZJ and I will tow that thing all over the place they have lots of power but power isnt everything...Its gearing and traction and my locker and spool work a shitload better than quadratrac

  • an old ass ranger with a 2.9 against a newer jeep with a 4.0...of course the jeeps gonna win...i swear people r gettin fuckin dumber these days

  • i have an excuse for u-YOUR FORD IS TOO WEEEEEAAAAKK!!!!

  • Its called gravel dude Lol

  • Nice.

    Have fun out there. Jeep®

  • That dumb guy in the Ranger didn't know what he was doing.

  • That dumb guy in the Ranger didn't know what he was doing.

  • Its called gravel.

  • man that camera is LOUD when it zooms.. you need to stop dropping it or something ;-)

  • if the retard in the ranger knew what he was doing it would be a differnt story

  • i've owned both and would have to completely disagree with you in all aspects. the jeep is heavier, more power, more torque, more traction... no contest at all. although if you were to race off road, i'd take the ranger in a heartbeat. Very fun to play with.

  • If you were to race offroad, i'd take the zj. Its all wheel drive system allows it to jump off the line a lot more quickly than the ranger and its power will give it a higher top speed.

  • a zj is not awd. It is either selectrac part time 4wd or quadratrac full time 4wd. Awd comes on subarus and the like. A ranger is much more nimble off road in the dunes then a zj. The jeep's power is all down low, the ranger has a revvy 4.0L that is MUCH lighter and faster then a zj.

  • It is all wheel drive with quadra trac, as it can't be disengaged. Technically it is a full-time 4wd system because it has a low range gear... but it is AWD.

4wd vehicles tend to make it off the line faster, as there is more traction there, especially on gravel and sand. And it would depend on the engine of the ranger, and tires and many other factors, but the ZJ is extremely nimble.

  • Jeep prevailes!!!!!

  • I second that
