Not finished yet. Now that I have good weather I'm gluing, sealing and painting the parts I made during the Winter. I'm about halfway back on the inside of the hull. When I get it all sealed up I have to move it out of the shop to install the pilot house as it is too high to go out. Still hope to launch befor Winter. Thanks for your interest.
Buetiful work - please make sure you post a video of the launch - Question the flat bottom is it designed for sea use or lakes and rivers - Hey keep it up - And God Bless
Thank you. Wont launch this year, too much work and not enough summer. If I keep her in the shop I can work all winter with my heater, then move her out in the spring and put up the cabins. Flat bottom dorys are very seaworthy, just cant go fast in the rough stuff.
Thanks Dave. I drew my plans, based on a Pacific power dory. I will use a 4 stroke outboard, 100 to 150 hp, on a bracket. So I can raise it for grounding, and I won't have an engine in my cabin. I think the 3 runners on the bottom will give me enough directional stability. I figur 8 to 12 knts. Don't know. Experimental boat.
Hey Matt!! Sure a shower, why not. Plan one on the back deck too. Comunity shower for secluded areas. Just glass in the head, put in a drain, a pump and a hand held shower head. No problem.
I really enjoyed sitting at the galley table the last time I was there. A sweet little boat to be sure.

Oh yeah, The beam is 8ft 3in. My midship bulkhead is from a full width 4x8 of 3/4 in plywood. See "Building the Jani J-design".
