  • Lunatics anonimous, thats where I belong. true because I am one, till my strength is gone.

  • Was @ Hunter AA. 1988. None of them GA radio stations even heard of the Kings. Too bad ( they kept thinking I was saying the kinks, sorry but no) always a real good song. Thank you Kings

  • I'm watching myself go....

  • My band used to play this and the dance floor was so packed people could hardly move.

  • Great tune, but it's a lame move to wear your own band's shirt on stage.

  • @benzomelon Step onto the ice and say that!!

  • Ah, LA, 1980. The harmony was the speed sound, all right. Freakin' BRILLIANT!

  • hi were the kings and were switching to glide on the weekend with KDKB. The shop that i work at, we will turn ALL the raidos up at 5pm and listen to the beat goes on ---switching to glide.

  • Digged this song from the first time I heard it-never gets old. To me, it's an anthem to hedonism!

  • Wow this song sure sounds like 96 Tears to me.

  • My fave song of all time !!! I had the pleasure of meetin The Kings in person this summer and the best part I just won tickets to see them again tonight twice in one summer. Cant beat that!!!!

  • Yep - love this song too! Hey Judy! Hey Donna - still wanna =)

  • One of the greatest rock hits of all time!!!!

  • @ultrakool it's because we canadians are talented! By the way...can you please tell me what the heck you're talking about regarding Triumph?? Those guys were great in their day...and If memory serves...it was Rik emmett and Gil more doing the vocals!! Gottcha!!!!!

  • what is it with canadian bands? does every bass player have to sing? rush, triumph and these guys?

  • This song makes me happy. When I was in high school, every single Friday on Phoenix radio station KDKB, at 5 on the dot, they would play this song. And it kicked off the weekend perfectly!

  • @thefitzs i remember that

  • @thefitzs : I lived in mesa in the early eighty's for about a year, think it was to early for this song but maybe not but remember kdkb it was my fav. radio station when i was there. still have a bumper sticker packed away somewhere from them

  • I have only one word. ASSKICKIN"!!!

  • Ah! Aging Rockers! ...keep rocking!.....

  • Classic!! "I'm laughin' as I'm analyzed"

  • yep it did real good on the u s charts 2 i love this tune

  • That whole album, The Kings Are Here, was a massive chunk of the soundtrack to my highschool years.

  • i can't find their cds any where :(

  • @manohman101 Try their website, thekingsarehere

  • Amazon!

  • What a lovely video. What it lacks in musical polish is made up in sheer fun. It just does your heart good to watch it.

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting!

  • melodic talent, fun music, great post! thanks

  • Diamond & Zero rock! Warner music Canada sucks ass!

After all we all belong at lunatics anonymous, don't we?

  • @BCBUD69 F**k you! This is a f***ing great song.

  • WoW! great post. are these the orig members?

    Man.. I miss H.S

  • Came down to just see these guys in Oakville, on Canada Day and was really blown away how good they still sounded. Great live performance!

  • Here's a band past their prime playing a tune they've played a billion times. Yet they rock it out and having a great time doing it. I love this footage, its my fav vid of this song. Im surprised the crowd wasn't bouncing around more though.

  • Love this song. Reminds me of my Toronto days in the early 80's . Q107, "the Mighty Q"! The organ really makes this song. Or should I say "these" songs. It's two songs in one. The Kings are all about value! Great memories everytime I hear it.

  • yaaaaaaaa somewhere around Two Rivers would be nice

  • WOW...Awsome, so raw and live, great to see these guys still rock

  • Jeez Bob, almost 16K views, pretty good! Heard AK might be trying for a younger demo this year... huh?

  • What a fucking rocking song to just rock out to while reading the lyrics. I think im switchin to glide myself....Good advice Kings!

  • always loved the guitar work on this one!!!

  • An excellent video capture! A great Canadian band for sure! Wish they would play in Kingston!!!!!

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers this. Fun to play on the guitar.

  • the guy on the far right is having a fit lol

  • One of many great Canadian bands to rock you ....

  • Nothin' like the good ol' Canadian rock scene to get your blood movin'

  • Would love to bring The Kings back to the States. Let us know where you are from and drop Zero a message on the band's website. We are attempting to put some dates together.

  • Thank you. I am just slightly below buffalo ,and every loves them. I wear my concert tees and no-one knows who "Ratt" ,"Sammy Hagar" and "Poison" are but when I wear my Kings t-shirt , I am amazed that everyone knows their music ".97 Rock " in Buffalo has always played the song "Switchin/This beat ,so It's always been a big song around here.

  • ...ever Friday afternoon like clockwork...to kickoff the weekend!!! :)

  • I always loved this song, they still touring?

  • still jams

  • out-frickin-standing! saw them as the early morning finale at the heatwave festival at mosport park in 1980. they sound just as good. all of us were suffering from extreme fatigue and intoxication of various sorts, and these guys gave us a jolt at around 6 a.m. a show i'll never forget.

  • An old pal of mine who introduced me to gallons of beer when I was 14 (thus ruining my high school career), would drop everything when the Kings were onthe radio and sang "Nothing matters but the weekend from a Tuesday point of view" and sing along (in your face singing). nearly 30 years later, I still love this duo and I still love beer (Molson Golden).

  • Greatest Top 40 song I ever heard out of Canada (I'm American)! Truth in Advertising: grandfather I knew was born in Canada (Peterborough, ON) and in '80s I dated a girl who was born in Winnipeg...gee, we never go to dance to this song...what a memory that would have been! This all-time hit will stay with me for as long as I live!

  • there aint nobody like the Kings, baby!

  • I cannot sit still when this song is on. The energy in this song is contagious. Gotta love it.

  • This song was played at every party during my graduation year (1981) it was our anthem!!!

(Maybe thats why I didn't graduate???!!!)

    TIMELESS PARTY ROCK!!!

  • Yeah 1981 was a graet year i graduated also, grat song along with 707's I could be good for you Yeah this beat goes ONNNNN AND ONNN!!

  • awesome job live !!

  • Does anyone know who plays keys on this track?

  • Peter Nunn

  • That is Peter Nunn at this gig, Sonny Keyes played the part on the record.

  • Glad to see these guys still rockin' and enjoying this playing this song as much as I still do!

  • If I had a dollar for every time that I've listened to this song during the past twenty-nine years, I would be a rich man!

  • so would the Kings

  • Gotta love the KINGS!

They still sound great, and the vocals are better than ever...Thanks from Minnesota!

  • Even if they are only the kings of YYZ now, this tune will always be kings in my book.

  • This song will live on forever for those of us who grew up playing it a million times

  • totally cool...do these guys still tour?

  • I love this song. Reminds of days when I didn't have so many responsibilities and could "Switch to Glide"

  • @lonbags Agreed. Wish I was 18 again.
