Right On....Like It WAS said...The memories this tune yanks up from downtown in Sault Sainte Marie Ontario from the pool hall days on Queen Street...Holla...I miss them days Big Time...Good Tune.
Was @ Hunter AA. 1988. None of them GA radio stations even heard of the Kings. Too bad ( they kept thinking I was saying the kinks, sorry but no) always a real good song. Thank you Kings
hi were the kings and were switching to glide on the weekend with KDKB. The shop that i work at, we will turn ALL the raidos up at 5pm and listen to the beat goes on ---switching to glide.
My fave song of all time !!! I had the pleasure of meetin The Kings in person this summer and the best part I just won tickets to see them again tonight twice in one summer. Cant beat that!!!!
@ultrakool it's because we canadians are talented! By the way...can you please tell me what the heck you're talking about regarding Triumph?? Those guys were great in their day...and If memory serves...it was Rik emmett and Gil more doing the vocals!! Gottcha!!!!!
This song makes me happy. When I was in high school, every single Friday on Phoenix radio station KDKB, at 5 on the dot, they would play this song. And it kicked off the weekend perfectly!
@thefitzs : I lived in mesa in the early eighty's for about a year, think it was to early for this song but maybe not but remember kdkb it was my fav. radio station when i was there. still have a bumper sticker packed away somewhere from them
Here's a band past their prime playing a tune they've played a billion times. Yet they rock it out and having a great time doing it. I love this footage, its my fav vid of this song. Im surprised the crowd wasn't bouncing around more though.
Love this song. Reminds me of my Toronto days in the early 80's . Q107, "the Mighty Q"! The organ really makes this song. Or should I say "these" songs. It's two songs in one. The Kings are all about value! Great memories everytime I hear it.
Would love to bring The Kings back to the States. Let us know where you are from and drop Zero a message on the band's website. We are attempting to put some dates together.
Thank you. I am just slightly below buffalo ,and every loves them. I wear my concert tees and no-one knows who "Ratt" ,"Sammy Hagar" and "Poison" are but when I wear my Kings t-shirt , I am amazed that everyone knows their music ".97 Rock " in Buffalo has always played the song "Switchin/This beat ,so It's always been a big song around here.
out-frickin-standing! saw them as the early morning finale at the heatwave festival at mosport park in 1980. they sound just as good. all of us were suffering from extreme fatigue and intoxication of various sorts, and these guys gave us a jolt at around 6 a.m. a show i'll never forget.
An old pal of mine who introduced me to gallons of beer when I was 14 (thus ruining my high school career), would drop everything when the Kings were onthe radio and sang "Nothing matters but the weekend from a Tuesday point of view" and sing along (in your face singing). nearly 30 years later, I still love this duo and I still love beer (Molson Golden).
Greatest Top 40 song I ever heard out of Canada (I'm American)! Truth in Advertising: grandfather I knew was born in Canada (Peterborough, ON) and in '80s I dated a girl who was born in Winnipeg...gee, we never go to dance to this song...what a memory that would have been! This all-time hit will stay with me for as long as I live!

Great tune, but it's a lame move to wear your own band's shirt on stage.
