  • sorry im only 13, but what does this surgery do? :O

  • @stewp1dass it basically reduces the size of your stomach from about the size of a football to that of an egg. So even if you really wanted to eat ice cream or chocolate you couldn't physcially do it.

  • @stewp1dass There's a lot of good information about this on the realize.com page on line

  • Guys please listen to me. In about March of 2010 I weight at 360 pounds and was still only 18. And now at November 2011 I weight a comfortable 220 pounds and I'm still going. I didn't nor did i ever consider gastric Bypass surgery. Lets not fool ourselves you know that we are the ones that choose to eat not healthy food and when we dont see the results in a week or a month we quit. It will take a a lot of hard work and time before you see results but believe me when you commit to diet and

  • I am 17 i weigh 437lbs and i am 6' 1" i have tryed to lose weight but i cant. does anybody have any advice, do you think i should get Gastric Bypass Surgery?

  • @PatriotConservative1 no , its a bit extreme and u may regret it when your older. i know it wsounds lame but get all the fatty foods out of your house like chocolate icecream, soda etc. stick to the basic foods. exercise about an hour a day and if u stay away completely from fatty foods, then it should work. do it gradually, and ask ur doctor for advice. also i reccommend drinking a green smoothie (youtube it) and it basically rids your body of all the toxins and its really healthy for u.

  • I really hate when overweight people say that food is not the reason they are overweight. I used to weigh 211 in april, ( i am 17, female, and 5 foot 5) now I weigh 158 (just since last april!) and it was all the crap I ate. When you're overweight, you see food as a normal part of your daily schedule. Overweight people think they are eating the right amount of calories, when really... they're eating double. I cut my calories to 1200 a day and lost 53 lbs.

  • @xMusicalMelancholyx I am a 17 year old boy i weigh 437lbs and i am 6' 1" i have tryed to lose weight but i cant. do you have any advice, do you think i should get Gastric Bypass Surgery?

  • @xMusicalMelancholyx I am a 17 year old male and im 377lbs and i became diabetic in this past June. i have tryed to lose weight but i couldnt. do you think i should get Gastric Bypass Surgery?

  • seriously? all she has to do is give an effort to exercising at least every other day for 30 mins to an hour...it makes me so made when people turn to surgery. :(

  • To people who say "oh, she could do it on her own blah blah blah go on the biggest loser" have no idea what they are talking about. 1) to have a body that size work out is not only dangerous for her, but restrains her from loosing weight due to lack of mobility 2) this isn't an easy fix because it's surgery, and it's a life long commitment that helps to make her lose some weight so she CAN work out and get in shape. Otherwise she would be a sack of skin. 3) the people on the biggest loser eat t

  • This is just an easy way out to lose weight. If she actually took the patience and time to work out, she'd be on her way to lose weight. Look how technology has made us so lazy. don't mean to be rude but srsly..

  • i think i found her on facebook..if it's her she looks great

  • To Be Honest Im 18 Years Old and i weigh 275 Pounds which is obese, but i have a feeling she did all the diet programs but did not work out, i lost 50 pounds from cutting out junk and working out and gained it all back this summer but it is my fault i think kids like me should be eating healthy, we all know what we should eat, i suggest to anyone trying to lose wieght also trust me im big to eat healthy and work out run cardio dont give up it takes time dont expect results asap.

  • @TheyCallMePooh Rational mentality, its a shame so few people think the same way...

  • @TheyCallMePooh im 19 and my highest weigh was 220 im now at 200 lost 20 so far and would love to go down to 180 or 175 the least i dont wanna be skinny because i dont think it looks nice (my opinion) i eat better now cut out fast food junk food soday and even juices all i eat now is fruit vegies smaller portions in food and gym at least 3 or 4 times a week 1 hour cardio 1 hour ab jam i wish it was easier but its not so i just gotta suck it up and do it.im glad im not the only one :)

  • I do not want to judge her personal decision, but I am concerned that the surgery is invasive and dangerous like any surgery. Lapband surgery may also work in the beginning, but your stomach can stretch back. I hope this is only the first step, but she absolutely needs to maintain a fitness and diet regiment is she never wants to go back to this weight. I hope it all works out for her.

  • I'm on the path to sleeve gastrectomy (a type of gastric bypass)

follow me here!!! Youtube user: AKandtheDietofDoom

  • Honestly, too many people who go into this surgery think it's a 'easy fix'. Well, it's not, you have to work out 2 times as hard as anyone else. Your body gets used to eating, lets say, 800 calories a day. So, it is no 'easy fix'. Why can't you just exercise and eat right? Not every overweight person has this done, an to put your life on the line, when you could just work a tiny bit harder at self discipline, is absolutely ridiculous to me.

  • @haleyisamazinggg Your comment is coming from the point of view of someone who hasn't been in this persons shoes. It takes exercise and healthy eating after this surgery yes, but the reason why they need surgery is because they are addicted to food. I'm fed up of people thinking that obese people are just greedy, and yet smokers, alcoholics and drug addicts are not? No, theyre all the same. They are addicted to chemicals, and surgery helps them overcome that addiction by restricting them.

  • @haleyisamazinggg Im assuming you have never had to lose 100, 200 or even 300 pounds before? I am also assuming that you don't have any serious weight issues? Its not about self discipline, its an addiction.

  • how does someone not see what they are doing to their body?

  • @pinkygirl1999 Well, why don't you ask smokers and drug addicts the same question!!

  • @cpblay24116 thats not excuse! every fast food place has healthy options, grocery stores usually have fresh meals to go that you can just pick up!! im tired of the excuses

  • they told me that there was 1-700 that dies...

and i'm doing it in two weeks

  • im sorry but i really dont see why anyone would get this surgery, they should just resolve their eating problems then eat right and exercise.

  • 'Forget surgery...stop eating foods with chemicals in them. Stevia is awesome. I take some liquid vitamins and healthy weightloss/control products

  • i just complate 8 mounths from this surgry...

    and i already lost 60 K.G

but actually i got my abs :P

i look soo hot now :P i can show u guyz if u want =]

P.M me if u wanna see how i look like now and befor... =]

  • 2 words-- Paleo Diet

  • all you whine about is diet ect, did you maybe consider that every body has it's on way burning calories? my brother eats not too much and healthy aswell, he started to get ill, allergic to almost all the vegetables and fruits for some reason, he can't do any excersice because of his overweight, too much joint pain and he also has edema, it's not always that easy to lose weight -.- gotta hate all the whining about this

  • apart from loosing weight , would this surgey eliminate , acid reflux (gerd) diesese

so killing two birds with one stone in effect ???

  • This kind of thing makes me cry. I can watch concentration camp footage, genocide, atomic bombs, radiation poisoning, but to see people who do this to themselves, it's more tragic than war.

  • @SodyPopInSpace Are you serious? You're messing with us right?Having a band put around your stomach is comparable to a war where people get raped, killed, maimed, taken prisoner, or driven crazy? Or is it people becoming obese that strikes you as on par with radiation poisoning? I agree this surgery is a bit drastic but I'd say a nuclear holocaust would hurt more. Even the skinny people wouldn't stand a chance.

  • gud luck

  • If you can't lose weight through diet and exercise, its likely that you are having pyschological problems with regard to food. It would be better to consult a mental health professional rather than go something as dangerous as gastric bypass surgery.

  • @monkeyman1140 There's no surgery who'se good enough to work it. Diet and Exercise is the only way, except going to a be diagnosed as an overeater and getting some medication to keep your stomach full. When she said diets didnt work all i thought was "Cmon... Are you for real?" I used to weigh 106kg and went down to 85kg after a months-long journey, not a sprint. she cant eat certain stuff because she took the easy way, not the right way. Suck it up, thats what being a man means..

  • a lot of people try to lose the weight naturally but it doesn't work. i am one of those people and if you don't know that struggle than you can't comment on it! i have tried everything. dieting and exercise and it hasn't worked for me and I'm sure it hasn't worked for others. that is when this surgery can really help!

  • @noise159 its not true i lost 21 kg i was 98 kg n now 77 exercise n dieting only

  • DAM IT. she says she can't go normal college because she would have to talk around the campus and it would be tiring. NEWSFLASH - YOU MIGHT GET SOME EXERCISE.

  • It is radical. Ya know what's not radical? diet and excercise. i know it sucks, but it works. and it's alot more practical than surgery.

  • You should not be condoning such a surgery in a teenage, People will be going out and getting this surgery because they don't want to exercise, It's not right, in some cases if it's an only chance to live the yes, but you're risking your life, not being able to eat what you want, and not being able to be healthy, just weight less.

  • the fact u had to get the surgery in the first place was a bad thing

and u should loose the weight naturaly and if u dont have the will power your consequence is being fat

  • Guess u never been big right?

  • I had the surgery at age 19 and I think it's the best thing I've ever done

  • you mean worse

  • This girl wasn't even willing to go to college because she would have to "walk around" and it would be "tiring." Sounds like she isn't able to "commit to diet and exercise changes" like the narrator recommended. If she isn't, this surgery probably won't do her any good in the long term.

  • i love how the commentator says before surgery you should ask yourself 'have i dealt with my eating disorder?' well, gee if these people did that, there wouldnt be a reason for surgery. in fact they wouldnt be fat to start with.

  • yeah because eating is the only reason people have weight issues right? *heavy on the sarcasm* Ignorance is bliss I guess. Get a clue dear.

  • Im 21 and im a nurse who is over weight i would love to have the surgrey but i cnat afford it and my insurance won cover it. if anyone knows away to get it let me know ty

  • i wanted to see the surgery

  • I am going to be going through the surgury hopefully in the next couple of months and this video help me feel alittle better about it.

  • gud luk.=D.

  • Obesity surgry dose not cure eating disorders, or emotional eating binges. I know.

Been there done that. This surgery did not work for me, I have gained most of my weight back. I was 390 I am back to 260 I'm only 4'10".

Be careful to learn All the facts and fine print.

I am not telling you not to have this done, simply to know the facts.

God bless you who are going through with this..

  • whats the next? i really wanna see the progress, by the way hope she does well.

  • pretty girl..

  • Totally agree with you!

  • What a sweet kid. God bless her and I hope she is doing well.

  • I would love to see a follow up. :)

  • me too... anybody know how she has done? I would love to see how she looks now! my gastric bypass surgery is in 3 days!! I am sooo scared, and sooo excited all at the same time. i'm 28 yrs old, a mother and have been fat my whole life, this will be my new birthday.

  • I wish you all the best.
