If you think this is anything but an abomination to Zeppelin than you watched a different video. The vocal performance was ridiculously terrible and too harsh. The audience seemed to cheer out of awkwardness.
you need to hear this band still in a garage doing this piece! I swear there are so many cover bands doing this and I love Train but these guy's do not have that majic this song seems to have in any recording I have seen except these guys.
going to california led zeppelin cover D-G check it out. I swear these guys are not professional yet but its the best example I have ever heard. Check it out.
@intellichephelodon Simply saying "check out a version by these other guys" would have been sufficient. Putting down Train only to plug some guys who are obviously less on multiple levels hurts everyone. You disrespect proven pros like Train then you set people up to expect more than what your guys could deliver which leads to disappointment. Nice work buddy.
" ... the sea was red and the sky was gray, I wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today."
Sooooooo cool.
Of all the billions of rap songs that are being slammed down everyone's throats, can someone cite just one line from any of them that stands out as brilliantly as the one I quoted here?
That question isn't to put down blacks, but it is asked to point out that we'd better get back to reasonable standards and expectations in this country or we'll lose it all.
Omg train does the best led zep covers and pinks babe I am going to leave ya too glad to see the young ones still pay tribute to the true gods of rock

/sigh no offense to any Train fans, but this one just didn't do it for me. He's trying to hard to hit those high notes like Robert Plant, and no one, bar Freddie Mercury can do that. Good cover, though. If they're gonna cover this, they should've made it their own. All I can say to this :(.
@kincoism I agree totally, they do a good cover. He sings it well with the mid range parts but it sounds strained during the higher parts. The end was weak vocally as well. but the core of it sounded good.
big ups for trying the song dude, but... It wouldve been better if near the end you didnt try to sound like Robert Plant, 3 stars from me and a like click
@george8873 agreed. he seemed to be doing a robert plant impression rather than putting his own stamp on the song. that said. i thought it was a good tribute.
Train has always been a great band. It's covers like these that shows the band's talent. Not a lot of bands can move beyond their own music and do amazing covers like these nowadays. I've throughly enjoyed Train for years and will continue to do so.
Pat leaves me breathless... is there anything he can not do... he has music and love so deep in his soul... I thank God That Pat has shared the gift of himself with this world.... so humble and dear... looks like this was one of Pat's rested days, he looks and sounds GREAT:)
I saw them do this at Nautica Stage in Cleveland Ohio. My husband and I where in awe of how fantastic they did with this song. Glad I found it on YouTube.
@gwarmeat even as ex-zeppelin tribute band (train) is there a chance to get famous these days :) so lets just all try and bring bieber and friends down!
meh

Respect for choosing this song to cover!
But it was kinda bland. Neither good nor bad, except for the "Seems like the gods..." it was to whiny for my taste.

I always thought train was gay, but now they have my respect:)
