sorry, not right there. The national guard is state ran, this is going to be a federal ran army unit stations to help in handling crowd control / emergency situations. They will be armed with crowd control guns and their m16 and sidearm for "self protection".

If government troops on the streets are used to enforce law & order, stop criminal activity, armed gangs, looters & rioters etc, that would be OK. Law abiding citizens should have nothing to fear. If the government has a sinister motive like the nazis rounding up jews, that that would be a problem.
