All of the case and Top, Legs, music rack, Keycover, front rail, blocks, and pedal Lyre are original just new finish. To do this type of restoring on this piano costs a little over $30,000 at the time and now it would be about the same. As for who will buy the piano is someone who really appreciates a very nice piano that would last another hundred years. If you had to go and buy a new piano with this kind of quality it would take $60,000 or more.
I am impressed! I didn't even know Lester made grand pianos. The craftsmanship is impeccable! I have a Mason & Hamlin "A" which I am going to undertake rebuilding. I plan to use Renner action & hammers. Who is your string provider? Did you use Mapes? Makes me want to jump into rebuilding my piano!
I think the old brass is more pretty than chrome. And brass you CAN clean when it gets a little yellow. It takes some work and maintainance I know - I have it on my own. But it will always be able to clean it perfectly.
I love your piano! Congrats with it. And GREAT you gave it a new life!
The old hinge will never clean up and stay clean. It will get tarnish and look ugly in a few months so I put a new hinge so it will stay nice and clean as everything else will. The only wood that was replace on the piano was the trim on the soundboard and we used the same type of trim that they Lester used. This piano plays and sounds much better now than it did when it was new.
Amazing job. But I think you chromed to many things. They where not intended to be chromed. I also think you replaced a lot of the antique wood trims etc. Why? The wood where much better bach then - and it is a little more charmy with everything completely original? But still - very nuce job! I have an antique Piano myselves - I LOVE them! Watc my videos of it!
5 questions:
- what remains of the original piano?
- How much money has he spent to restore it?
- How much it cost now?
- Who will buy it?
- worth it?

Why the new hinge? Was it destroyed the old one?
