atleast the slums aren't as prominent along the path of RWY 14 as compared to the landing path of RWY 27......this was the logic used when barack Obama was planning to land at Mumbai to create a better impression. Still one could have easily confused the lokhandwala suburb higrises with those in New York.Cheers...Mumbai meri jaan....Jai Hind

@addi138 those high rises look like public housing. not commercial operations. was this part of a government program to provide better housing for slum dewlers?

btw just out of curiosity, does India have any suburban areas? what I mean by suburban, is single or double story self standing houses for families?

@STFpolice1 actually those high rises are indeed meant for public housing. Well as far as the slum dwellers are concerned, government has built rehabilitation buildings in huge numbers for them. But these slum dwellers actually don't move into them and continue staying in their slums . And yes India does have great suburban areas all over. New Mumbai(where i live!!). And Beta level cities like Noida,Chandigarh, Ghaziabad. Don't tell me that you wont be impressed by them at first sight!! Cheers!

@STFpolice1 Dude I mean New Mumbai ( the 'N' is capital here). It is a satellite city to Mumbai. You can very well check Google Maps for taking a look at my city. Cheers!
