It is upsetting to me that in the first views of the choir singing the people of the congregation look very disconnected and later on the view is the same, they are making no attempt to join in, less effort at harmony and more at inclusiveness would make this a more inspiring video....the entire congregation should join in the praise!
I'm not a Christian, and I like this song. You'all have some good hymns. This one in particular was based on Francesco de Bernardone's Canticle of the same name, and the man was good, regardless his religious leanings.
I prefer it to go faster than this, that's how they sing it at my church camp. But I guess that helps it be more interesting for little kids, This song really lifts me up when i'm down. :D
We been saying in praise & worship workshops that - our church is progressive starting from the Old Testament to the New and the Holy Spirit always teaches us new things. The bible said "don't stifle the Spirit". God knows that this age is different than 50 or 100 years ago, we have to be thankful that our God is all knowing and omnipotent, he accepts our offering if it comes from our heart.
Ouch!?! Ive never had anyone openly pray for the death of my false religion. If you are right, a bunch of us are going to be standing at the narrow gate with our ukeleles & clavinovas in hand and no way in. Its a constant struggle to be good. I suppose itll be my lame taste in music that will be my undoing. Holy Moses!!
Wow, you just can't help yourself, can you? I suppose you want a Latin mass and the music to be nothing other than chants? I love all of the modern music of the Catholic Church, particularly the music of the Saint Louis Jesuits and Marty Haugen. It is part of what really makes mass meaningful to me. Face it, times have changed... it's not pre-Vatican II anymore.
I love this tempo...have heard it faster and slower. I also love the directors control, watching the procession, communicating with the piano. The guitar gets it, the choir gets it. You should use this hymn more than once a year, though!! I was thinking about the strong harmony, too, but thought it might be somewhat intentional. With large congregation participation, that could make sense. Ill check out more of your videos. I hope you do some a capella. You are very, very good!!!
Praise God! You are very encouraging. This will help us continue to provide music and lead the people in praise songs. We promise to share to the public what we are doing. Pray for us for continued strength and fire.
This song has so many words. Remember, the duty of the choir is to lead the people to sing. In this church, there are more older than younger and they will not catch up if we are at 65mph. Thanks
Thanks for telling us. The singers who were doing those parts have powerful voice but they migrated to another state. I did not really realize that there is a hole in the vocal arrangement. We sing the song only once a year but will address that when we practice that song again.
i really like the harmonies and the rythem section, i've never heard it like this! but you do always want the melody to be dominant, such as when you sing 'and all creation is shouting for joy' it gets really quiet and there is no melody. other then that, it's really good!
at our church we sing that

O Lord, we have wandered in the desert of modernism for 40 years; how long until we may return to our land?
May the death of your false religion come quickly, and may Catholicism be restored to our land. Mary, help of Christians, pray for us.

What's wrong with modern Christian music?
I'm a devout Catholic and I believe that music of any kind can worship The Lord just as well! =3
( Of course, don't take that as "any lyrics" as well. I mean anything that worships Him in word, it doesn't matter what type of sound it is. )
Please don't be a hater, it's not fitting for a Christian, and especially not a Catholic. =(

why are there like 20 lay-people in the procession?
coolerking04 2 years ago
The pastor wants every minister of the mass to join the procession and singing the entrance song.
