@jambopatty it amazes me as well that ghetto kids raised and schooled in the ghetto pretend not to understand even basic swahili, let alone mother tongues, yet posh kid like Uhuru schooled in the most expensive of schools can talk kiuk that fluent.

@karuitha I was very impressed with this kid too, how can he be so smart in using not basic Kikuyu but metaphors that tie well, eg Kiama Kia Ngombe, after Machangi's comedy. This guy is smart now this thing of Hague is giving him political mileage that Raila might not get easily.

Preamble of constitution affirms pride in our ethnic diversity. Chapter 2(7)(3)(a) requires the State to promote and protect the diversity of language of the people of Kenya, and (b) the promotion of the use of indegeneous languages. Article 44 allows a person to use any language of their choice. This is the new Kenya that we have to learn to live in. Uhuru's message was in Kikuyu to Kikuyus. His message to the broader Kenyan audience was spoken in Swahili. The truth matters.

Around the world, the use of such language may be considered hate speech. You ought to know this. The internet does not give anyone license to incite or commit crimes. Find ways to express your views, even strong views, without resorting to threats of violence, or incitement of hatred against others. That's of civilized conduct.

@kenyantruth...UK is an assistant prime minister of all Kenyans and not just kikuyus. He should therefore address all Kenyans in the national language. His speeches are questionable and he is promoting 'incitement of hatred against others'. No one has threatened to take his life, he is not worth it. He needs to go for anger management and leadership lessons. The guy has no education or skills of any sort and therefore we will continue to exercise the freedom of expression to enlighten others.

Here, Uhuru is made a kikuyu elder by muranga people. I like the kikuyu customs like this one. And then , he is telling the Muranga people to be united like the Rift valley people are united behind Ruto.
