me and my best mate jon were there we hadnt seen each other for eleven years until last week the first thing we did was book tickets to see big country in brum and were taking our wives!, albeit without stuart adamson i think mike peters is doing him proud, roll on feb 17th,
put's a massive smile on my face.....such an awsome band with THE best guitar sound EVER! Stuart, you will live in my heart always! Bring on Big Country at 02 Leeds feb 2012....Stay alive!
this is my funeral song but the problem is its that good and it hits me like nowt else it will make me come back to life!!! A bit of a paradox there.......
first of all...thanks to the one that posted this gem...as a a huge Big Country fan, i have never seen this one before. for the one dislike, you have a place in hell reserved for you.
songs like this make you remember just how good a songwriter and singer Stewart was. but fuck, this vid make me remember just how good a guitar player he was too.
I know exactly when this was. August 10th 1990!! Day after my birthday. I bought 20 tickets, and had my party at the gig...was an unbelievable night! Only one ticket got unused, and I've still got it, stub n'all.
Seen them so many times, I lost count.....never missed a rock star so much...

Gotta laugh at people who bring BC down, every bit of live footage you watch, wherever it is the crowd really go for it,name any bands that get that type of reception anywhere they go,this footage is from england, saw them loads of times, best live band bar none.
was at the recent newcastle gig with mike peters on vocals, and they are still a brilliant live band. Stuart sadly missed though but full credit to bruce and jamie watson, tony and mark and mike, brilliant gig and great to hear these songs getting played again
There's nothing bad that can be said about any of the "players". Only good. If you don't see it, then how sad for you. Hopefully, you won't reproduce.
Just watched "restless natives" tonight for the first time in decades, WOW what a trip back to my youth! makes me want to be Scottish :D awesome, just awesome!!
Needless to say, the music speaks for itself...it would be more productive to point out that clearly Stuart just came from the gym, which is especially obvious at 1:49. Also, on an even more productive note...he was a total fox.
This was August 1990.....I bought a ticket from a tout when I heard the first chords and literally ram into the old T&C. It was broadcast a few weeks later on BSB...remember the satellite company with the squarial?
Magnificent gig, one of my all time faves and god this song is good.
An excellent live version of a wonderful Big Country song, written for the Restless Natives film. Stuart is in sublime form here with the passion of his vocals and his outstanding guitar work. Pat Ahern is not as good as Mark Brzezicki on the drums though.
Just listen to Tony's bass line's here at the intro, it's humming continually every once in a while taps the string to re-new the note again, personally i don't think I've heard a into quite like this before. . . BC show extreme attention to detail within their music, Tony's bass line melodics are really quite supreme, just like the rest of the band.. . . . .rip Stu.
@twonky721 I think Butler is one of the top bassists of all time. He did some great work with Pete Townsend too (Empty Glass) that you might want to check out.
@bigbigjoel yo ! I heard Tony's bass line in "Heart Of the World" last year and it too is as good as RN intro. . I tried playing bass last week and it's not for me. Let's Rock.
Another great post.Thanks.I will be checking out all of your other posts.I love seeing Stuart like this and I absoulutley hate that he is gone. The man gave so much,he deserved better.
