Oh, I actually see it differently. If not better our 1998 team was not weaker than what we had in 2002,2006, and the current squad. We had a real striker by then(DAei), a cunning skilled forward(azizi), a magnificent long shot taker and also a visioner and good ball challenger bagheri, and super goali (abedzade). these players were all younge and on their prime. with the exeption of karimi and nekounam we haven't found a consistant replacment yet for tm.

However talent is not the issue, soccer is a team game. Furthermore, there got to be passion and "Gheyrat". This is what our team lacks now, there is so much joy and ambition in our players eyes in iran vs. USA WC98 game that unfortunately, today I seek and can't find it.
