God will judge us all on what we have done with His Son, this is very clear in the Bible! We will be judged not on if we were good or did great things, but on if we died to ourselves and followed Christ or rejected Jesus and His truth! What have you done with Christ?

I have stopped trying to prove God is real to any but a seeking heart. I did this because God told me it isnt my job. This is the Holy Spirits job. It is simply my job to live Christ so they see Him & to share the gospel from His word. His word is living water, & is the sword of the spirit to convict people of sin, righteousness & judgement, & then to lead them to new life in Christ. But Christ left the sheep to reach the lost. We know via the Holy Spirit, but they are dying in their sin. Peace.

People often site the suffering of innocents as a case for God not either; being here, or giving a damn. Rather you fail to see that the suffering of innocents doesn't have to be in Africa, or Indochina, It's in the world due to the absence of you giving a damn, doing what God intended You to do! Hes there. Its the decisions we make that lead to that kind of stuff, not God. So just think...if the whole world chose to follow God....then none of that stuff would happen. Its true that bad things happen to us all the time, but those bad things make us stronger. God has a plan. Trust him.

I've probably heard this song before on the radio but never really listened but today i listened. They usually tell you the name of the song and artist but they did'nt, so I had to find out. Love this song......
I was watching this segment on the Discovery channel and it was about the Shroud of Turin(a cloth). And it was dated back to when Jesus was alive. The segment talked about how there was blood and an outline of someone on the cloth and by the looks of it they could tell that it was a man, and he had been severely beaten and there were nail prints so it was strange to them. They also did this thing on the computer on how possibly the man would have looked like. It was simply astonishing. Amazing~
It's a beautiful, poetic song that highlights some of the fears, doubt, and thoughts that come along with having faith. Everyone who has ever had faith in anything knows this feeling. It's a beautiful song.

Well, I'd be dead, so I wouldn't know. However, when you chose to be a Christian, you chose to live a good and respectable life, so no I wouldn't be disappointed, because the life I lead, was good.
Can a Christian say that they have doubt that heaven exists? The bible states that doubt is unbelief. To be a Christian, the bible says that you must believe.
@bcrockbottom I've doubted heaven before. But the thing is, Christ promised it. He PROMISED it to his believers. And I believe that Jesus never lied. Sometimes I have to look past my temporary disbelief and go with what I know. And pray that God will take away my doubts :) I pray God will give you His peace about that.

@kryceksangel I disagree with Purgatory, as I was raised in Catholic faith I asked my Apostolic Pastor about it and the "word" Purgatory does not exist in the Bible. There is Heaven and Hell and no in-between. The truth is God loves us too much to judge us. The Word will judge.

@BelleFlower15 well, you posted this a long time ago :P but the way i see it, we aren't blindly believing in Christianity just because we think of God as an axiom and build off of that. God himself shows time and time again that he is real, through what he is doing in our lives, and that is why we believe in God, that is why we believe in Christianity. I'd encourage you to look at Hebrews 11:1, think about what it means, and talk to your pastor :D Hope that helped! :) You can do it!! :D

Thank you for posting the song with the lyrics. I've heard it on K-Love many times before. I'm a born again believer in Jesus Christ and I know this isn't religion but a True Love relationship. And He "caught me by surprise "twelve years ago in Iraq. I LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED ME and I don't guess, it's not a maybe but this is REAL.
Why I believe the Bible is because no other religion of the world teaches love quite like the Bible or God. And because no other prophet (Mohammed, etc) actually CAME to Earth to die. There is no one quite like Christ in all the histories. In addition, when I go to fellowship I feel so positive and renewed. And I see results from prayer. I've witnessed so many prayers answered. The problem with humans is that we are so impatient. We just have to believe and be patient and thankful.
It doesn't matter if the buddist or muslims are right, because even if they are, us christians have nothing to lose, but if they are wrong, then we gain everything, while people who do not believe in God lose everything and gain nothing, and even if they are right, they still dont gain anything. i have been witnessing to an athiest friend of mine and its been hard so i try to just do like get him to listen to a Christian sogn or somethign when im not witnessing directly to him so im having him listen to this song and hopefully it changes at least a litlle something in him so he will be more open to listening to me. and who knows maybe beacause do this song he can get saved.

Actually I saw Nicole sing this song and she explained the reason she wrote this was because she knew someone, a friend that did not have faith or was not sure of how he felt and this was for him. In other words, Id rather believe and find out Im wrong than to not believe and find out Im wrong.
To all of those who are being critical: this song is from the heart of a Christian artist expressing her ponderings. A lot of people identify with it. Each of us has to find our own way... but that is not to say that there are "many" ways. The fact is that if one could "know" all of humanity's collective knowledge past, present and future, it would still be so incomplete that our beliefs would still require faith. Insincere "safe" belief is not belief at all. Pray about it.

I used to ask some of these same questions for over 40 years and when I could not take it any longer I had to prove it. When I did, I realized Jesus Christ was right, he was the savior and yes, you can have a close, live relationship beyond words. Prove it out...you'll see.

What strikes me about this song is the doubt which even Christians have about God. I mean, questions like "Who's God?" and "who made him?"and "how can I trust him?". It sometimes is very troubling, which is why we need to have Faith in God. There isn't always human evidence to explain, so it's quite difficult sometimes, but with His help, we can do it.

When my 23 year old son was seeking, trying to evaluate the claims of his Christian parents, Muslims, Buddhists, a Muslim woman gave him some great advice. She said "Pray to the Creator. Ask Him to reveal Himself and show you what's true. You don't have to call Him Allah or God or Jesus. Pray to Him as the Creator." And he did. And not too long ago he "jumped" as the song says.

My son has always been a skeptic of anything he can't prove absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt, so for him to finally decide to believe Jesus died for his sins, was resurrected, that He was the Son of God, was a tremendous jump for him. People often site the suffering of innocents as a case for God not either; being here, or giving a damn. Rather you fail to see that the suffering of innocents doesn't have to be in Africa, or Indochina, It's in the world due to the absence of you giving a damn, doing what God intended You to do! I was watching this segment on the Discovery channel and it was about the Shroud of Turin(a cloth). And it was dated back to when Jesus was alive. The segment talked about how there was blood and an outline of someone on the cloth and by the looks of it they could tell that it was a man, and he had been severely beaten and there were nail prints so it was strange to them. They also did this thing on the computer on how possibly the man would have looked like. It was simply astonishing. Amazing~

@bcrockbottom I've doubted heaven before. But the thing is, Christ promised it. He PROMISED it to his believers. And I believe that Jesus never lied. Sometimes I have to look past my temporary disbelief and go with what I know. And pray that God will take away my doubts :) I pray God will give you His peace about that.

what took me long to learn was there was a difference between having FAITH and having religion.
When I first learned this I was angry in denial....glad I know now :)

@BelleFlower15 well, you posted this a long time ago :P but the way i see it, we aren't blindly believing in Christianity just because we think of God as an axiom and build off of that. God himself shows time and time again that he is real, through what he is doing in our lives, and that is why we believe in God, that is why we believe in Christianity. I'd encourage you to look at Hebrews 11:1, think about what it means, and talk to your pastor :D Hope that helped! :) You can do it!! :D

Why I believe the Bible is because no other religion of the world teaches love quite like the Bible or God. And because no other prophet (Mohammed, etc) actually CAME to Earth to die. There is no one quite like Christ in all the histories. In addition, when I go to fellowship I feel so positive and renewed. And I see results from prayer. I've witnessed so many prayers answered. The problem with humans is that we are so impatient. We just have to believe and be patient and thankful.

i have been witnessing to an athiest friend of mine and its been hard so i try to just do like get him to listen to a Christian sogn or somethign when im not witnessing directly to him so im having him listen to this song and hopefully it changes at least a litlle something in him so he will be more open to listening to me. and who knows maybe beacause do this song he can get saved.

To all of those who are being critical: this song is from the heart of a Christian artist expressing her ponderings. A lot of people identify with it. Each of us has to find our own way... but that is not to say that there are "many" ways. The fact is that if one could "know" all of humanity's collective knowledge past, present and future, it would still be so incomplete that our beliefs would still require faith. Insincere "safe" belief is not belief at all. Pray about it.

I just wanted to say a few things, i noticed that there are alot of rude comments on this video, and I also noticed that alot of you guys are being very defensive against your religion. I am a christian myself and I have learned that you can't force someone to be a christian but you can talk to them about God. Do not get angry if they don't want to listen, don't get angry is they bash christianity. All you can do is show love and patience. They will eventually find the Lord:)

I used to ask some of these same questions for over 40 years and when I could not take it any longer I had to prove it. When I did, I realized Jesus Christ was right, he was the savior and yes, you can have a close, live relationship beyond words. Prove it out...you'll see.

What strikes me about this song is the doubt which even Christians have about God. I mean, questions like "Who's God?" and "who made him?"and "how can I trust him?". It sometimes is very troubling, which is why we need to have Faith in God. There isn't always human evidence to explain, so it's quite difficult sometimes, but with His help, we can do it.

When my 23 year old son was seeking, trying to evaluate the claims of his Christian parents, Muslims, Buddhists, a Muslim woman gave him some great advice. She said "Pray to the Creator. Ask Him to reveal Himself and show you what's true. You don't have to call Him Allah or God or Jesus. Pray to Him as the Creator." And he did. And not too long ago he "jumped" as the song says.

@Queerlioness What the song and I mean by "jump' is to take a leap of FAITH. To trust in something and in the is case Someone you don't know is pretty scary, isn't it? My son has always been a skeptic of anything he can't prove absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt, so for him to finally decide to believe Jesus died for his sins, was resurrected, that He was the Son of God, was a tremendous jump for him. People who search for fact in religion always walk away upset, because it's mostly faith. Actually, it's all faith. The Bible tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1)
Think about it this way: you know someone that is pregnant. Can you prove that they will have a completely smooth and safe birth, that the baby will live? No, you can present evidence, such as the baby and mother's health, but it's impossible to say.

@Gallington69 I like the song for what it is. No, I don't think that "what if" is a good reason to define and change your life. I think the only real purpose it serves is an answer to those people that ask that question to Christians: "What if there is no God. You're wasting your time." This song really isn't meant for non-Christians.. it's purpose is in giving justification to Christians who feel like they have hope through the love they feel comes from God.

@Gallington69 That being said.. it's not a concept that I relate to on a personal level. Any faith I have has nothing to do with what the song speaks of. But.... I think it's kind of a ballsy and smart ass-ish thing to sing.. and even though I'm sure this wasn't the purpose of the song... I'm a bit of a smart ass so I appreciate that :P

I think the whole point of this song is to make people think about what is at stake if they die one day and get to the gates of heaven and God says depart from me.. i never knew you. And you thought you were right all that time. So what if you are wrong?

What about all the people tortured to death because of their lack of belief in what could be the biggest con job the world has ever seen?

They want proof to prove that they are right, that there is no God. Well, my dear Athiests, I can tell you right now that you wont be able to see anyone parting the ocean or walking on water. God's miracle lies in the fact that billions of people in the world believe or will believe in him and are having a much better life than their previous ones. :)
